{ONE YEAR LATER}

(A/N: They are 5-year-olds

Naru/Ruto = Naruto

Ke = Sasuke

Kura = Sakura)

"Hey Kura, wasn't today the day that we found out our teams? Except like, seven years early?" Naruto asked his surrogate sister, Sakura. His hands were interlocked behind his head, face upturned to the sun.

Naruto was wearing long beige pants with bandages on his right thigh and a kunai pouch attached to it. He wore a navy blue short-sleeved shirt and a red vest with white flames at the bottom. Navy blue wristbands and navy blue calf-high shinobi sandals finished his outfit. His chin-length, untamed blonde hair (like Minato's) was haphazardly flying everywhere.  

(Basically like in previous chapter, only he has long pants now)

"Hm, I should think so," Sakura frowned thoughtfully.

She was wearing a red short-sleeved, high-necked, white-lined crop top and a matching skirt that reached her upper thighs. Dark grey thigh-length shorts were worn underneath it. Ankle-high navy blue shinobi sandals were on her feet, and her short pink hair was held back by a navy blue headband.

Sasuke was wearing a high-necked blue short-sleeved shirt that hat the Uchiha crest on the back, white sleeves that reached from his wrists to elbow, white shorts, bandages on his shins and blue shinobi sandals.

"Naruto! Sasuke! Sakura!" A female voice called, making the trio turn around, seeing a beautiful girl with long brown hair, hazel eyes and purple stripes on her cheeks.

"Rin-nee!" Naruto exclaimed as he was swept into a hug along with his siblings by the grown up version of the girl he saved when he saw them the second time after time-travelling.

"It's so good to see you again!" Rin said breathlessly.

"Mm," Naruto hummed in agreement. "Remember when you guys saw us when we were only three? You pretty much freaked out! I think Obito even fainted!"

Rin, Sakura and Sasuke started laughing or chuckling.

{Flashback no jutsu!}

Rin and Obito were standing by the bridge, waiting for their other teammate. It was exactly three years after their sensei passed.

"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!" A childish voice shouted, and before either of the Jonin could blink, a giant fireball was barreling straight towards Rin and Obito.

Suddenly they were both lifted off their feet, and two males were on the ground, one arm wrapped around the individual's waist as their legs were bent to make sure they weren't going to kick a face.

(A/N: Like that 👆)

"B-Bakashi!" Obito stumbled backwards in shock, trying to regain his footing.

Rin was frozen as she stared at a little blonde boy.

"Damnit Ke!" He shouted before a boy the same age with black duckbutt hair and a girl with pink hair came running.

"Sorry, I thought you would counter it with your Water Style!" the other boy exclaimed, who was recognized as an Uchiha.

The blonde sighed in exasperation.

"N-Naruto?" Rin whispered, disbelief written on her face.

The boy turned around, exposing six whisker marks and unmistakable azure-blue eyes. "Rin."

"It's you! Mini-sensei!" Obito ran up before falling to his knees and hugging the surprised boy. "And you! The. . . OHMYGOD HOW DID I NOT SEE THE UCHIHA FOR THREE FRICKIN' YEARS?!" He screamed upon seeing Sasuke.

Mr. Duckbutt sweatdropped before going over and shaking Kakashi's hand, who was the only one who didn't seem affected by their appearance.

"It's nice to see you again, Kaka-sensei."

"S-Sensei?" Kakashi, Obito, Rin, Sakura and Naruto froze in shock.

"What? Why are you guys looking at me like that?" Sasuke poked both Naruto and Sakura's foreheads.

"Y-You. . ." they stuttered.

"Yes?" he asked impatiently.

"Y-You actually used the suffix. . . you called him sensei! AND you gave him a nickname!" they both shouted simultaneously, pointing accusingly at him.

"Yes, and what does that have to do with anything?"

"EVERYTHING!"

"Whoa, slow down! I-I'm your sensei?!" Kakashi yelled.

"Duh~" Sasuke rolled his eyes. Naruto flicked his forehead.

"Ouch! Why'd you do that?!" Sasuke glared.

"Payback for the poke," Naruto grinned cheekily. "You're turning into 'Tachi-nii, Sasuke!"

"Am not!"

"Are too!"

"Am not!"

"Are TOO!"

"Am NOT!"

"ARE TOO!"

"AM NOT!"

"ARE TOO!"

"Alright boys, break it up, BREAK IT UP!" Sakura shouted, getting in between them.

The two stared at her, the girl holding their gaze before they erupted into fits of laughter.

Rin, Kakashi and Obito just stared at them, feeling the hole that had appeared that three years ago that fateful night fill up to the brim with the children's innocent, carefree laughter.

"I suppose our reactions were quite funny." Rin's eyes sparkled as she remembered that day.

"Funny? Oh you have no idea," Sakura shook her head, laughing.

"They were priceless!" Naruto jiggled on the spot, a giant grin spreading across his face.

"But then again, you had died right in front of our eyes. . ." Rin said softly, trailing off with guilt laced in her voice.

Naruto frowned, tilting his head. "I CHOSE to save you, remember? I was gonna be. . . conceived anyway." His face turned green at the mental image.

Rin smiled sadly. "Still, you didn't have to throw yourself in front of me."

"And let Team Minato fall apart again? I think not," Naruto retorted before they continued on their way.

"I honestly can't believe you three are only five," Rin said thoughtfully. "You're so. . . grown up."

"Well we are from the future," Sakura said meaningfully.

Rin nodded. "Well, I have to go now. Good luck in your Academy years." She winked before shushining (sp?) away.

"Rin-nee's so nice," Sakura sighed dreamily. "I wish I could be like her."

"Well maybe you could grow up to be a different than you were before," Naruto suggested. "After all, we do have another chance to do things over. Think of the many things we've changed and prevented. Granny Tsunade came back earlier -"

"And revealed she's your grandmother~" Sakura and Sasuke sing-songed.

Naruto tapped his chin thoughtfully. "That's probably why she never really minded when I called her "Granny" in our previous life. . ."

"It was quite smart of her to hide your father's real heritage," Sasuke chipped in.

Naruto nodded.

"We also prevented the Uchiha Massacre and Naruto's awful childhood by providing him with a family," Sasuke added to the list of things they changed since they came back. "Also Naruto is way more powerful and has more friends."

"And the villagers aren't as hateful towards Naruto anymore since his heritage and relation to Tsunade-sama has been revealed. And you aren't wearing that hideous, kill-me-orange jumpsuit," the fashionista of the group shuddered.

Naruto grimaced at the memory. Sure orange was a great colour, but when you have to wear it 24/7 and you're trying to be a shinobi, it could get really annoying.

"Oh, and Team Minato is still together! Kakashi and Rin are so cute, aren't they?" Sakura fangirled with hearts in her eyes.

Sasuke and Naruto sweatdropped. Guess she still kept some tendencies from her childhood. . . ah well. It couldn't be helped; she was a girl, after all.

(Guys just saying I'm not trying to be sexist; I'm a girl myself)

"Hn, so going back was a good idea after all," Sasuke sighed in content.

As his siblings chattered on, Naruto decided to resume his personal mission of poking around in his mindscape to find Kurama. He hadn't really talked to the fox since he time-travelled, and simply assumed it was because he was tired from using all that chakra to summon Kami.

'Kuuuuuuuurrrrrraaaaaaammmmmmaaaaaaa~!'

'Damnit Kit shut up! Oh hey, I can talk to you again.'

'Yeah, what happened? '

'I have no idea. . . but it looks like you brats are handling things just fine.'

'Yep! Granny Tsunade is my real grandmother, did you know that?! '

'Yes.'

'WHAT?!?! You knew about it and you didn't TELL ME?! '

'Tch, whatever Kit. By the way, since you've become an Uchiha. . .'

'Wait how did you know that?! '

'Shut up Kit. As I was saying, I carefully changed a few parts of your genes so you should be able to unlock the Sharingan. . .'

'Would that be changing too much? '

'Meh. You've already changed a number of major things, what's one more? It'll make you more powerful anyways. . . and you will be able to activate the Rinnegan. You were supposed to in your previous life but you had to go back in time so forming it was delayed.'

'Oh. . . okay. Thanks, Kurama.'

'Your "brother" is trying to catch your attention. See you, Kit.'

'Bye~'

Naruto opened his eyes to see Sasuke waving a hand in front of his face.

"Ruto? Ruuuuuutoooooooo? Are you there?"

"Hm? Oh yeah, what?"

"What if we asked Lady Hokage if we could possibly just pass onto Genin already?" Sasuke asked him. "I mean, we are strong enough. . . and maybe if we proved ourselves we could move up quicker without having to go through Academy!"

"A nice idea. . . let's try it!" Naruto grinned.

"You three wanna try out for Genin. You're only five!" Tsunade narrowed her eyes at her grandson and his friends.

"Calm down, Baa-chan! We're strong enough. We know because we've trained way past our limits since we could walk," Naruto retorted. "Ask Kaa-san, Tou-san or Itachi-nii-san if you don't believe us."

Tsunade sighed. Her grandson was just too stubborn.

"Fine. I'll give you a test. If you pass it, you can become Genin. It's both academic and physical, so you better do well or you'll be thrust back into Academy! Got it?"

"Thanks baa-chan!" Naruto said happily as he skipped out the door to tell his siblings the good news.

"You brat," Tsunade said, but she was smiling.

Hehe, I'm sorry I haven't updated much or if this chapter is crappy and too short for you guys, but I honestly have too much on, so I'm gonna write an update schedule below so both you and I can keep track of what's going on in my life and when to expect an update.
