You'll wake up the princess
*Rapunzel's POV*
I woke up to the bright sun shining in my eyes. I sat up and felt someone else waking up besides me. I looked and saw Eugene. He looked around confused. "Eugene, where are we?" I asked.
"Corona." Eugene gasped. Everyone else started squirming as they woke up.
"Get up." Eugene said, making me nervous.
"Eugene, what's wrong?" Kristoff asked.
"We're in Corona. If the guards find me, something bad's going to happen." Eugene said as he walked around.
"Like what?" Merida asked.
"It's nothing." Eugene lied. He hates opening up to people, especially when it's something that scares him.
"This is a part of your fear, isn't it?" Elsa asked.
"No." Eugene lied. I looked at Elsa and nodded my head yes.
"Okay. Then let's find somewhere safe." Jack said, understanding that Eugene wouldn't tell us.
"In town." Anna offered.
"No, the guards will be there." Eugene replied.
"My tower." I replied.
"What about your mother?" Elsa asked.
"I'll just hide you guys." I smiled.
"Do you know the way?" Hiccup asked.
"Yeah, follow me!" I cheered as I led the way. Eventually, we came to my tower. We looked up and noticed how tall it really was.
"How are we going to get up there?" Hiccup asked.
"I don't know. Usually mother uses my hair, but I'm not up there." I replied.
"I'll fly you up there." Jack said.
"Okay!" I cheered. Jack grabbed a hold of me and flew me through the little window. We landed in the tower and I threw my hair down. I lifted everyone up but Eugene. He knew I would be tired by the time I got to him, so he climbed up with some arrows. He was the last one up. I let them wander around, looking at everything.
"What's this?" Kristoff asked as he pointed to a painting of a man with pointy teeth on the floor.
"That's what my mother told me men looked like." I replied.
"Okay, so we'll meet back here." Elsa said.
"But first, let's eat something." Merida said.
"I'll make some pie!" I cheered.
"No, that will take too long." Eugene said.
"Fine, I'll make sandwiches." I grumbled. I made everyone ham sandwiches and lemonade. We finally finished lunch and left the tower. We were walking through the forest and heard some rumbling in the bushes.
"Is it ruffians? Thugs? Have they come for me?" I cried as I jumped onto Eugene's back. I tried to hide myself as it came out. It was cute, little bunny.
"Stay calm. It can probably smell fear." Eugene said sarcastically.
"Sorry! I guess I'm just a little bit jumpy!" I giggled.
"Just a little." Elsa giggled. Soon, we came across a pub called the Snuggly Duckling. I went to one at BYA, but they had another here in Corona.
"Let's just go in there and ask for directions." Eugene said, he opened the door like he owned the place. Everyone turned and looked at us like we were freaks. "Hey guys!" Eugene cheered. "Like the blood in the mustache. Very macho." Eugene said to a short man.
"Can we help you?" One of them asked.
"Just looking for directions." Jack said.
"We don't help circus freaks." One of them replied.
"Okay, then I guess we better get going." Kristoff said as we walked towards the door. We almost got out when someone slammed the door and held up a wanted paper.
"Is this you?" He asked in a deep, scratchy voice. Eugene lifted his finger and saw his face with a messed up nose.
"Aww, now they're just being mean." Eugene whined.
"Ohh, it's him alright. Greno, go find some guards. That reward is going to buy me a new hook." The hook hand man taunted as he brought the hook underneath Eugene's chin.
"I could use the money!" Another yelled as he grabbed Eugene.
"What about me? I'm broke!" Someone yelled as he snatched Eugene. "Get back! Mine!" He yelled as he held Eugene over his head.
"We can work this out!" Eugene yelled as the yanked him around.
"Hey leave him alone!" My friends and I yelled.
"Gentlemen, please!" Eugene begged as they punched him in the face.
"Give me back my boyfriend!" I yelled as I pounded on them with my frying pan.
"Ruffians!" Merida yelled, trying to get their attention. Eugene yelled and squirmed as he tried to get out of their grasps.
"Not the nose! Not the nose!" Eugene yelled as the hooked hand got ready to punch. I wrapped my hair around a branch pulled it as far as it would go. Why does this always happen here?! I let go and hit one of them on the head. Everyone turned and looked at me in horror.
"Put him down!" I yelled, angry that they would try to turn in Eugene. The hooked man turned around, angry at me. "Okay, we don't know where we are and we need him to take us to see the kingdom because we've been dreaming of it our entire lives! Find your humanity! Haven't any of you ever had a dream?" I asked. The thugs and Eugene looked at me, surprised at what I did. My roommates looked at me, worried at what he would do. While Jack, Kristoff, and Hiccup looked at me, confused of having a dream about visiting the kingdom. The hooked man walked towards me with his weapon. One of the ruffians hung Eugene on a post by his coat. His eyes were wide, staring at me. I backed away, nervous that the hooked man would hurt me. I held up my frying pan to protect somewhat of my face. He stopped close to me.
"I had a dream once." He replied. He threw his weapon at the man playing the accordion. The boys looked around, confused at what was going on. The hooked man started singing about his dream to become a concert pianist. Soon, a man sang about his dream to find true love. Thor sang about being a florist. Gunther did interior design. Ulf was into mime. Attila's cupcakes were sublime. Bruiser knitted while Killer sowed. Fang does little puppets shows and Vladimir collects ceramic unicorns. "What about you?" He asked Eugene.
"I'm sorry, me?" Eugene asked.
"What's your dream?" The lover asked.
"Wow, no, no. Sorry boys. I don't sing." Eugene argued. They showed him their weapons, threatening him to sing. Eugene jumped onto the bar and sang against his will.
"I've have dreams like you. No, really. Just much less, touchy feely. They mainly happen somewhere warm and sunny. On an island that I own. Tanned and rested and alone. Surrounded by enormous piles of money." Eugene sang.
"I've got a dream! I've got a dream! I just want to see the floating lanterns gleam. And with every passing hour, I'm so glad I left my tower! Like all you lovely folks, I've got a dream." I sang with all my heart. Soon, we got to the finale and launched Eugene off a floorboard. He flew onto Vladimir's horns and he threw Eugene onto a barrel. One of them pushed him down around the pub as we threw fire everywhere. Eugene crashed into the wall and stood by the window. Ulf jumped out and scared Eugene. We were all so happy, until Greno came back.
"I found the guards!" Greno yelled. Eugene quickly grabbed us and pulled us under the bar to hide from the guards.
"Where's Rider? Where is he?" The captain yelled. "I know he's in here somewhere. Find him. Turn the place upside down if you have to!" The captain shouted as he pounded on the bar above where we were hiding. Eugene looked to see how many guards there were and he gasped.
"How many are there?" Jack asked.
"They brought the Stabbington Brothers to help find me." Eugene whispered. Hooked hand man came over and led us to a secret opening.
"Go. Live your dream." He said.
"I will." Eugene replied.
"Your dream stinks. I was talking to her." He grumbled at Eugene. Eugene crawled away mad. Everyone quietly laughed as they followed him in.
"Thanks for everything." I smiled as I kissed him on the cheek. As he shut the door, I heard them turn in someone else. We quickly walked away laughing at Eugene.
"He told you your dream stinks!" Anna laughed.
"You told them you didn't sing and yet they made you sing!" Merida laughed.
"What's with the nose?" Jack chuckled.
"Yeah really? They mess it up on the paper and yet you wouldn't let them hit you in the nose!" Kristoff laughed.
"Guys, it wasn't that funny." Eugene said.
"Yes it was!" Elsa chuckled.
"Okay, it kinda was." Eugene laughed. We become quiet, not knowing what to say. "So, I didn't know you had that in you back there. That was pretty impressive." Eugene complimented.
"I know!" I cheered. "I know." I said again, pretending it was nothing. Suddenly, a rock hit Jack's head.
"Okay, who threw it?" Jack asked. Everyone pointed at Eugene.
"It wasn't me!" Eugene yelled as we heard feet stomping after us.
"Uh Eugene?" Elsa asked.
"Eugene?" Anna added.
"Rider?" The captain yelled.
"Run. Run!" Eugene yelled as he helped pick up my hair. We quickly ran out of the tunnel and walked towards the edge of the cliff, which showed a little rope. We looked and saw two people pop out of a tunnel.
"Who's that?" Elsa asked.
"They don't like me." Eugene replied.
"Who's that?" Hiccup asked as the guards came out behind us.
"They don't like me either." Eugene said.
"Who's that!?' I yelled as an angry horse popped out. Suddenly, I remembered that it was Max.
"Let's just assume for the moment that everyone in here doesn't like me!" Eugene yelled. I noticed a beam and knew I could swing over there.
"Here." I said as handed Eugene my frying pan but accidentally hit him in the stomach. Our friends had already climbed down the ladder as I tied my hair around the beam and swung to safety on a cliff. I stood there and watched Eugene fight.
"I waited a long time for this." The captain chuckled. Eugene looked nervously at the frying pan and swung as each guard tried to attack him. He knocked everyone out and cheered.
"Oh mama I have got to get me one of these!" Eugene cheered as he looked at the frying pan. Eugene was ready for the next guard to fight, only find out that it was Max holding a knife in this mouth. They were fighting back and forth. "You should know that this is the strangest thing I've ever done!" Eugene yelled to us as Max knocked the frying pan out of his hand. We listened to it clacker as it hit the sides of the cliffs and fell to the ground. "How about two out of three?" Eugene asked as he surrendered to Max.
"Eugene!" I yelled as I threw him my hair. I pulled him away from Max after Eugene gave a confident goodbye wave.
"Eugene look out!" Anna yelled. Eugene was screaming as he tried to hold onto my silky hair. Eugene was swinging right towards the Stabbington Brothers. I quickly pulled my hair tight as he flew above them.
"Ha! You should see your faces because you look..." Eugene yelled as he flew past them, not watching where he was going. "...ridiculous." Eugene finished as he smashed into a beam. Everyone groaned, feeling the pain. I looked over and saw Max and the guards kicking down a beam. It fell down and barely reached my cliff. I didn't know what to do. As I was thinking it over, Eugene yelled at me.
"Come on Blondie! Jump!" Eugene yelled as he stood on a little runway for the water to slid down. I quickly ran across the cliff and jumped. Eugene held onto my hair as I slid under the runway. I splashed my friends as I stopped. I heard Eugene slide down the runway as I heard the dam breaking behind us. We quickly ran to the exit. Before we got in, Eugene turned around and grabbed my frying pan. We quickly opened the door and shut it again. We sat outside the exit, soaking wet as caught our breath.
"We made it." I panted.
"We're alive. I'm alive!" Elsa cheered.
"Way to go Eugene. You're making this trip way harder than it should be." Jack chuckled.
"At least I'm making it entertaining." Eugene smirked.
"Let's just get to the kingdom." Hiccup said.
"Okay." Merida said.
"Do we have to?" Eugene whined.
"Yes. Pitch is probably waiting for us there." Kristoff said.
"If I was him, I would hide in that creepy tower." Eugene shuttered. To be honest, I was creeped out by it too. Eventually, we reached the kingdom and walked around. I felt everyone accidentally yank on my hair. Eugene helped pick it up and we sat down to braid it.
"This might take awhile if you boys want to look around." Elsa replied.
"Okay." Jack replied. I saw Eugene roll his eyes and walk away with them.
*Eugene's POV*
I really didn't want to walk around the kingdom. I knew why Pitch sent us here. He wanted my friends to see me die in pain. I haven't had time to think about it over all the excitement. At least I've spent my last day in an adventure with my best friends and with Rapunzel. What would Rapunzel do without me? I couldn't live with myself if she wasn't here. "You okay?" Hiccup asked me.
"Yup, just peachy." I replied.
"Really?" Kristoff asked.
"Yup." I lied.
"Where are we supposed to go?" Jack asked.
"We could go to the fjord." I answered.
"Alright." They replied. We had to hide every time a castle guard walked by but we eventually made it. We sat down by the water in silence.
"Alright Eugene. Spit it out. What's eating you?" Jack asked.
"Nothing." I lied.
"Eugene. If you don't tell us now then you'll have to tell us with the girls around." Kristoff threatened.
"Okay, you can't tell Rapunzel this. But I have a sinking feeling that I'm going to die tomorrow." I replied.
"You won't die as long as we're here." Hiccup said.
"Thanks." I smiled. Soon, we headed back to the girls and saw Rapunzel with her hair braided. As we walked around, Max found us. "Hey Max!" I greeted nervously.
"Please don't arrest him!" Rapunzel begged. Max looked at her then me. He softly neighed, telling us he wouldn't. We went and bought Rapunzel a Corona handkerchief and let her paint the symbol. It was beautiful. Suddenly, we heard music. Rapunzel grabbed a little boy and started dancing with him. She pulled more and more people in to dance. Soon, everyone was dancing except me. Rapunzel signaled for me to come join in, but I refused. Max saw and pushed me in. I gave him an annoyed face and he laughed. I tried to dance with Rapunzel, but people kept taking us away from each other. When the song ended, we landed in each other's arms. We all went to sit down and catch our breaths. I have to have this last night with Rapunzel.
"Let's go for a boat ride." I said as I dragged her to the boats.
"We'll stay here!" Elsa yelled.
"Okay! See you soon!" Rapunzel yelled as we rounded a corner. We hopped into the boat and went for a magical ride.
"Rapunzel." I said.
"Yes?" Rapunzel answered. She's so beautiful and I couldn't break her heart.
"In case I don't get to tell you, I love you." I mumbled.
"I love you too." Rapunzel smiled. We floated on the boat for hours, telling each other our favorite features about each other, but something caught my eye. I rowed to the shore and pulled the boat up.
"I'm sorry. Everything is fine. There's just something I have to take care of." I said.
"Okay." Rapunzel replied nervously.
"I'll be right back." I said as I walked away. I walked through the fog and bushes and finally saw them. "Ah! There you are. I've been searching everywhere for you guys since we got separated. The sideburns are coming in nice, huh? Got to be excited about that." I rambled. They looked at me angrily. I cleared my throat to clear the awkwardness. "Anyhow, I just wanted to say I shouldn't have spilt. I'll miss ya but I think it's for the..best." I finished as I bumped into them.
"Bolting out on us again, eh, Rider?" One of them asked.
"What?" I nervously asked.
"We heard you found something. Something much more valuable than a crown. We want her instead." He grumbled.
*Rapunzel's POV*
I stood there nervously. I was hoping that he would come back. He had to. Didn't he? Suddenly, I saw a figure come into view. I sighed and said, "I was starting to think you ran off and left me." I looked and saw two figures instead of one.
"He did." One of them grumbled.
"What? No. He wouldn't." I replied.
"See for yourself." He chuckled. I went and looked into the distance and saw his unmistakable hair, floating away on a boat.
"Eugene?" I whispered confused. "Eugene!" I yelled. I was scared. How could he leave me!
"A fair trade. A crown, for the girl with the magic hair." He said as he played with my hair, I quickly turned around. "How much do you think someone would pay to stay young and healthy forever?" He asked.
"No. Please. No!" I yelled as I ran away as he pulled out a bag. "No!" I nervously yelled as I ran as fast as I could. My hair got caught in a branch. I frantically pulled and pulled, hoping it would come out. I heard some shouting and heard them fall to the ground.
"Rapunzel!" I heard.
"Mother?" I asked.
"Oh, my precious girl!" Mother cried.
"Mother." I cried as I ran to her.
"Are you alright? Are you hurt?" Mother asked.
"How did you.." I started.
"I was so worried about you, dear. So I followed you and saw them attack you and... Come let's go before they come to!" Mother shouted as she ran towards the forest. I stopped and looked towards the water. I stood there and watched Eugene's boat float away. I felt the tears fill in my eyes. I turned and saw my mother with open arms. I ran to her crying.
"You were right, Mother. You were right about everything." I cried.
"I know, darling. I know." She comforted as we walked back to our tower.
*Elsa's POV*
We watched a boat launch towards the docks. "Who's driving that boat?" I asked.
"No idea, but they're going way too fast." Kristoff said as they smashed into the dock.
"Look! It's Rider!" We heard the guard shout. We immediately turned around and watched.
"Rapunzel." Eugene lightly grumbled as he woke up. "Rapunzel!" Eugene shouted as he looked around. We watched the guards jump onto the boat and untie him. "Wait, guys!" Eugene shouted as they handcuffed him. "Rapunzel!" Eugene shouted as they brought him into the castle. We turned and saw the island covered in fog. What happened out there?! We quickly ran to her tower and Jack flew us up. When we got there, we were met by Pitch.
"Hello. Missing anyone?" Pitch greeted.
"You won't get away with this." Jack growled.
"Shh! You'll wake up the princess." Pitch chuckled as he pointed upstairs. As we looked up there confused. Pitch and Rapunzel's mother handcuffed us in black sand. They covered our mouths with gags so we couldn't speak. They tied us up around the corner.
"Just wait until morning when they find out about Rider." Rapunzel's mother chuckled as I feel asleep.
