I know I am late in updating. I am really sorry for that. I wrote the whole chapter, but it got deleted and I couldn't retrieve it. So I rewrote everything. With full-time job, it's little tough. I am trying my best for keeping up my speed and update schedules. I hope you all support me and understand the situation. I am sorry once again.

Now let's get into our story.

Ashni POV:

Roshan was really sweet to stay for me. Caring for me. I love him, and I can't deny that fact. But should I let him into my life that easily?!

I know that he still loves me and cares for me.

May be I should give him a chance. But I will not be easy on him, I will be more strict with him. I don't want to get hurt again, that would mean that my family and friends will also get hurt. I don't want them to go through all that once again. Just now things are getting back to normal and smiles came back.

I was having breakfast with my parents when I was thinking all of this.

"Ashni, what are you thinking?" Dad asked.

Ashni👆

"Nothing, tomorrow is my colleagues wedding. Can I go?" I asked.

"Why are asking? Go ahead. I think it's fine, since Anrag, Priyam and others will be there." Dad said.

"Thanks dad." I said.

"How is Roshan behaving?" Mom asked.

"He is being very professional. He is not crossing any line. And he even stayed back in the hospital last night for my safety." I said.

"That's good improvement." Mom said.

"Whatever Ashni. Stay away from him. It's good that he is keeping his promise of staying away from you and not bothering you. But still, I don't like him anymore at all. So stay away." Dad said seriously.

"Don't be so hard on him. You also did these kind of mistakes with me." Mom said.

"What?" Dad asked.

"You removed me from hospital listening to your so called best friend. You always trusted her over me. And that caused a lot of problems between us. And you always took her side and even asked to leave this house and go away." Mom said.

And for that he went silent.

"But I didn't do anything like this." Dad tried to defend himself.

"But you too went to extremes without knowing the truth and tried to leave me after our marriage." Mom said. With that dad went silent completely.

"I gave you a second chance. And don't you think he deserves it too." Mom added.

"He may deserve our forgiveness but not our daughter. End of discussion." Dad said and left the table immediately.

"Dad..." I called him.

"It's okay. Leave it. He is that way. Ashni, you are an adult and you know what is right to do. And you always did what is right even knowing it might hurt you. Like you broke your own engagement. So do what you think is right." Mom said.

"Sure mom. Thanks." I said. She smiled at me.

After that I went to hospital with Anrag and Icha.

"Ashni, are you getting back with Roshan?" Icha asked.

"What?? No." I said.

"Are you sure?" She asked again.

"I don't know." I said.

"So there is a possibility. Nice." She said.

"No way. Don't. Don't even think." Anrag said.

"Why not?" Icha asked.

"He was a jerk to her. That's it. He doesn't deserve her." He said.

"But he is trying to make things right, now." Icha said.

"That's a regretful act. That's it. You can forgive. But don't get back with him. I am serious." He said.

"Oh shut up. Don't listen to him Ashni. Do what you like and want to." Icha said.

"Don't spoil her mind." Anrag said and they started to argue.

These two are acting as if I am not here while talking and arguing about me.

"Guys, stop arguing. I didn't say I am getting back to him. I am not sure what future holds for me. So for now calm down." I said. They went quite.

Dad and Anrag are very protective of me. Actually little over protective. But without their consent, I wouldn't marry him. For that matter, I won't marry anyone.

Let's see what happens.

We reached hospital and started our duties.

I still didn't see Roshan for today. Then I heard a voice.

"Looking for someone?" Priyam asked.

"No. No one." I said looking back at my patient files.

"He won't be coming today. It's Mayu's birthday. So he is spending time with her." He said.

"Oh ok. Can you pass on my wishes to her." I said.

"Why don't you only wish her. Here, I will send you her number." He said and sent her number immediately and left.

Okay. So I called her up.

"Hello who is this?" She asked.

"Hello Mayu. This is Ashni." I said.

"Oh hi what a surprise." She said.

"Ya. Happy Birthday. God bless you with all happiness and joy. " I wished her.

"Thanks. How do you know that it's my birthday? Bhai told you?" She asked.

"Ha, no. Priyam told me." I said.

"Oh ok. Ashni, I invited Priyam, Ahana for my birthday party. I didn't have your number. So I couldn't. But now, can you please come to my birthday party. ?" She asked.

"Haaa no Mayu. I am sorry. There is lot of work in the hospital. May be some other time." I said.

"We are going away from this town in 2-3 weeks. After that we can never meet. Please. Pretty please. I want to meet you and have a conversation. I never had a good chance to talk to you." She asked.

I can't deny it.

"Okay, I will come." I said.

"Thank you thank you thank you so much." She screamed. She seemed so happy.

I wish all of that never happened, we could have been great friends.

Now how to convince my parents. Mom will agree, but I don't know what dad is going to say. I called him up.

"Hey dad." I said.

"Hey princess. Tell me." He said.

"Today is Mayu's birthday and she is insisting that I go to her party. Since we don't be meeting ever again." I said.

He went quite.

"Who else is going to be there?" He asked.

"Priyam and Ahana." I said.

"What about Anrag and Icha?" He asked.

"I think they have a date. These two are going on a lot of dates, and making it up to each other for not confessing their feelings early." I said.

"Okay. Okay fine. But you know the rule." He said.

"Stay away from him. I know." I said.

"Good. Take care and be safe. Anything, call me immediately. " He said.

"Ofcourse dad. Don't worry." I said and wished him a bye before disconnecting the call.

I went on with my duty with that. At the end of the day, I went to Ahana.

"Hey, done with duty?" She asked me after seeing me. I nodded at her.

"Can I come with you guys?" I asked.

"Ofcourse, you can. Did you think that we would leave you and go." She said. I smiled at her.

"But how did you know that I am coming to the party only?" I asked.

"Ahhhh. Mayu told us. Yes, Mayu told us."she said.

"Okayyy..." I said. But I know something is fishy.

We started.

"Guys, can we stop at any gift shop. I want to get her something." I said.

"Sure. Tell me if you find any shop from where you want to get anything." Priyam said.

"Okay." I said and when I found a jewellery shop and asked Priyam to stop.

I picked a simple but an elegant bracelet for Mayu.

Soon we reached their house. And knocked on their door. Roshan opened the door. He was smiling but he was surprised as he saw.

"Hey man, aren't you going to let us inside?" Priyam said brining Roshan back to senses.

Roshan's look👆

"Ofcourse, ofcourse. Come in." He said and we all went in.

"Thanks for coming Ashni." Roshan said and I smiled at him.

"Hello we both are also here." Ahana said waving her hand infront of his face.

"Yes, yes ofcourse. Thanks for coming guys." Roshan said.

"Hello young people. Come sit and have something." Uncle came in and wished and we wished him back.

"Hey Ashni, thanks for coming." Mayu said coming down.

Mayu👆

"Why is everyone only focusing on Ashni.? We are also here." Priyam complaining like a child.

"Because she doesn't have to but she did." Mayu said.

I gave her a hug and wished her.

"Happy Birthday Mayu." I said.

"Thanks Ashni." She said.

"Okay if everyone is here. Let's get the celebrations started." Roshan said bringing the birthday cake.

We started to sing and eat cake and celebrate. It felt like a family celebration.

"Let's go to the terrace." Mayu said and ran upstairs. And we followed her.

We all sat down and started to stare at the sky and talked a lot about our childhood stories.

"You know Mayu was the most stubborn kid. I was a good and quite child." Roshan said.

"What the heck.? It is the opposite way. You were stubborn." Mayu said.

"What? No." Roshan protested.

"Yes. It's true. He was very possessive, stubborn kid and if he loves anything, he will make to treat that as the most precious thing in the world." Mayu added.

"That's true." Priyam and I said at the same time. Everyone looked at me. And there is Roshan looking at me with a smile.

"Thanks. " Roshan said. I gave him just a light smile.

"Guys, let's have dinner here only. I will get everything." Mayu said and left.

"I will help you." Ahana said and followed her.

"Me too." Priyam got up too and Roshan too.

"Dude, are you going to leave Ashni alone here. Stay here with her." He said and Roshan stayed back.

"Thanks for coming here today." He said.

"You already said that." I said.

"But it's not enough how many times I thank you." He said.

"It's fine. I couldn't deny Mayu's request." I said.

"So how was it at the hospital.?" He asked.

"It was good." I said. 'you weren't there' I said slowly.

"What?" He asked.

"Ha, nothing." I said. Ashni, shut up.

Soon it started to drizzle.

"Oh, let's get inside." I said. I tried to get up to go inside. He stopped me holding me.

"You love rains right. Let's stay." He said.

I sat back.

"You remember.?" I asked.

"I never forgot. I would never forget anything about you, Ashni. You are one of the best thing that happened to me." He said.

Roshan and Ashni👆

I looked at him. How can he be so caring. He was just looking at the sky and enjoying the rain.

"You don't like rains right." I said.

"But you made me love it." He said still enjoying the rain.

I couldn't help but smile looking at him. I was also enjoying the drizzling and him enjoying it.

"Ashni, can I ask you something?" He said.

"Yes, " I said.

"If I didn't screw up. I would have had a chance with you for lifetime right?" He asked.

"Yes." I said honestly. Because I loved him. Wait I still love him. That means does he still have a chance with me. Shall I give him the second chance.

"Roshan, can I ask you something?" I said.

"Yes, " he said.

"Do you think...." I was cut short by Nia.

"Hey Roshan. What are you doing in Rain. Let's go. You will get sick." She said.

"What are you doing here?" Roshan said. I liked his reply, because the smile on Nia's face drained out immediately.

"What? Can't I come to wish Mayu.?" She said.

"But I didn't invite you." He said.

Nia👆

Burn. Again.

"So now you are saying I need your permission to come to your house?" She asked.

"Yes." He said. I smiled making sure that she doesn't notice.

Ashni happy with Roshan's replies 👆

"Why are you doing this Roshan? Is she the reason behind this? Did she brainwash you?" Nia started to accuse me.

"Never ever you dare to speak a word about her. And no, it was you who brainwashed me. When I never wanted to do something that serious to her or her family. And with your spell on me, I didn't even listen to my bestfriend and sister. I regret even coming to you that day. If you were really my friend, you would have never let me do it in the first place. And you made me do even more worse things and now my life is a mess without Ashni." He said rather roared at her.

"Roshan, I did all of that you to help. I love you." She said.

"Nia, you need to get this straight. I am not in love with you. And will never be in love with someone like you." He said.

"What do you mean by that?" She asked.

"Look at you, you are so adamant, no consideration for others feelings, completely selfish, and you take advantage of others and their situation. Just like how you did with me.

And look at Ashni, she is kind, caring and always puts others and their happiness before her own. She changed me for good. And you made me a demon now who is hated by everyone." He said.

"You are not hated by all. We don't hate you. We love you still." Priyam said and came along with Mayu and Ahana.

"Thanks man." Roshan said.

"Nia, if you can leave. We want to have a peaceful dinner." Mayu said.

"Whatever, Ashni don't think this is over. Will definitely make you pay for stealing something which is mine." Nia warned me and left.

"Don't take her seriously. Let's have dinner." Priyam said and we started to eat.

"The food is delicious. Mayu your future husband is very lucky. I don't know much." I said.

"Thanks. But he is not that lucky. Because bhai cooked it all." Mayu said.

I looked at Roshan, he had a proud smile on his face.

"Then his future wife is lucky. Right Ashni?" Ahana said.

"Ha, yes yes." I said looking away.

With all this we had dinner.

"Woah, girls it's late. Let's go. Your dad will kill me now." Priyam said.

"It's okay, I will take a cab. You will be more tired to drop both of us and then going back to your place." I said.

"No cab. I will drop you." Roshan said immediately. We all looked at him.

"I mean it's very late. And it's not safe to take cab. I will drop you if you don't mind." He said.

"Sure." I said.

"Thanks man. Let's go." Priyam said and we all left.

In the car,

"Thanks for today." He said.

"Do you sell them?" I asked.

"What?" He was confused.

"I mean, you seem to have huge sack of thanks. Do you also sell them?" I asked.

He laughed.

"Don't worry about the warning Nia gave. I won't let her do anything to you." He said.

"I know. I already forgot about it." I said and smiled at him.

"Thanks for trusting me." He said. I rolled my eyes. He laughed.

In no time we reached home.

"Thanks for dropping me. Good night." I wished him.

"Good night." He wished back. I went out of the car and started to walk.

"Ashni.." he called me out.

"Yes, " I turned back.

"You will be coming tomorrow to the wedding right?" He asked. I nodded at him.

"Okay cool. Bye." He said and left.

I went home thinking of the events that happened today.

It just felt like old days. And it was really good. It felt like my old Roshan is back. I am actually thinking to give him a second chance. But maybe he has to work more for that. But definitely he has a chance. Love wins over anything and everything.

Priyam POV:

"Today was really good right?" Ahana said.

"Yes it was a great day. And did you observe, Ashni and Roshan were kind of flirting with eachother." I said.

"Ya, thank god they didn't get any doubt that this is actually all our plan." She said.

"True, Mayu acted up nicely. And I acted as if I randomly bumped into Ashni and told her about Mayu's birthday. You know, once I gave the number to Ashni, I messaged Mayu to be ready." I said.

"I am happy that everything worked out well. And itseems like their feelings to eachother are growing again." She said.

Priyam and Ahana👆

"True, and the best part. Nia coming there. She came for Roshan but in return I feel like she got Ashni and Roshan closer." I said.

"Ya.." she went light.

"What happened? Are you thinking of Nia's warning.?" I asked.

"She seemed serious. And frankly I am little worried for Ashni." She said.

"I can understand Ahana. But don't worry. We all are there for her. Especially Roshan, he won't let anything happen to her." I said.

"Okay." She said and smiled lightly. I held her hand in assurance.

I hope Nia doesn't actually plan anything serious. But have to be careful.

Ashni POV:

The next day, I got up and dressed up in a traditional saree but a simple one. Because after wedding we have to go back to hospital. That's right, health workers can never completely take break.

Once I was ready, I called up Anrag.

"Hello madam, are you ready?" He asked.

"Yes," I said.

"Coming in two minutes." He said.

Like he said, he came in 2 minutes. And we started towards the venue.

"I am so excited. It has been so many days that we attended a wedding." I said.

"So true, it's like a mini entertainment break." Anrag said.

"True, hey, what about Icha?" I asked.

"She said venue is near to her place. She will come directly." He said.

"Oh that's why you came to pick me up, otherwise you would have not come." I said in fake anger.

"Drama queen, stop it. You know I won't do that." He said and we laughed.

"It feels like after decades, everything is normal." He said.

"I agree." I said.

"It will be even more better, once Roshan leaves the city." He added.

With that my smile vanished. I didn't say anything.

"What happened?" He asked. I nodded my head as nothing.

We then reached the venue. We went in and I can see that mostly everyone reached from our hospital. We went to the group and greeted everyone.

"All the girls are with the bride." Priyam said.

So I made my way to the bride's room.

She was wearing a white gown and was looking absolutely stunning.

"OMG. You look so beautiful. Definitely the best bride I have seen so far in life." I said.

Dr. Lilly 👆

"Thanks Ashni. And also thanks for coming." She said.

"And Ashni, you are right. I am so jealous of Lilly right now that I want to become a bride right now and compete with her." Ahana said.

"I don't think Priyam will have any problem with that Idea." I said. With that she became silent and we had a laugh.

"So are you excited?" I asked.

"Yes, I am feeling lot of butterflies in my stomach." She said.

"Aww. That's the best feeling." Icha said. I agreed with her.

"My dear, " Lilly's father came in. We all left to give them a moment. Because it's a special moment for a father and daughter duo.

We all headed to the seating area. This is when I found Roshan. He looked more cleaned up and the most handsome man in the venue. I smiled at my own thoughts.

I looked at him again, and now he is looking at me and he too smiled at me.

We sat at our table, and everyone joined us. Roshan sat next to me.

"You look beautiful. You always do. And today you look more beautiful." He said.

"Thanks. You also look handsome." I said.

He smiled at me. At that time someone cleared their voice. It was Icha. Thankfully Anrag didn't notice.

"Don't worry. I will keep him occupied. You carry on with your hero." Icha said.

She is impossible.

The ceremony went on so beautiful. After the wedding, we started to mingle and have fun with our colleagues. We went to wish the newly wedded couple and took photos. Then Anrag came to me.

"Ashni, Icha and I are going to the other hospital to check on a patient. How will you go?" He said.

"It's okay, everyone is here only right. I will go with them." I said.

"Okay be careful. If you want anything, let me know." He said. I nodded at him.

Icha and Anrag left. Then Priyam came to me,

"Let's go?" He asked. I nodded at him.

"You go with Roshan." He said. Roshan came then.

"Roshan, take Ashni to the hospital." He said to Roshan.

"Let's go?" Roshan asked me.

"Sure." I said and went with him.

"It was beautiful ceremony right." He said.

"Ya true, it was so beautiful. Even I want it like that." I said in flow.

"I am sure you will get it." He said. I didn't reply anything.

"Ha, did you eat properly? Or do you want to have anything else.?" He asked.

"Ice cream?" I said.

"Sure. " He said and took a turn.

Roshan POV:

I am loving my life again. Ashni is being normal to me. And I am admiring her. Her soul, her beauty, her smile. I still can't believe how badly I screwed up things. Otherwise we would have been a great and wonderful couple.

Now she wanted to have Icecream, I immediately took turn to fulfill her wish.

"You stay in the car. I will go get it. Which one you want?" I asked her.

"Butterscotch." She said.

"Okay, give me two minutes." I said and went to get icecream.

I came back and she was standing leaning on to the car.

"Here you go." I gave her the icecream.

"Thanks" she said.

We were talking more about wedding and enjoying our icecream when few guys came towards us.

"Hello ma'am, we can also buy you an ice-cream." One said.

"You want one.?? And I think we can also go for a movie." Other one said.

She was getting uncomfortable. I wanted to beat shit out of them, but she is scared of that side of me.

"Guys, I am really saying nicely. Please leave us alone. Don't bother us." I said very calmly.

"Or else what you are going to do." One said.

"Everyone in suits is now a days acting as hero's." Other one said.

"I am being really patient and calm. Leave her alone." I said once again.

"Hello boss, get lost. Stupid fellow." One shouted and he got slapped immediately.

He was in shock, others were in shock. Even I am shocked.

It was Ashni, she slapped him very hard. And they all ran away quickly looking at her.

She was in complete irritation.

"You slapped him?" I said rather asked her in shock.

"He was talking rubbish about you." She said.

What???

"So you slapped him?" I asked.

"Yes. Let's go." She said and went inside the car.

I smiled widely. I hopped into the car and started to go towards the hospital. I kept smiling and giggling in between.

"Why are smiling?" She asked.

"Nothing." I said.

"What?" She asked again.

"You were scared of violence and now you slapped him." I said.

"Hmm." She just hummed. And then we reached hospital.

"Now, get rid of your angry face, because patients will be scared of it. And more over, smile suits you better." I said.

She smiled and went and joined our duties.

Then at night, actually Anrag dropped Ashni home. I wanted to but Anrag and Uncle are still upset with me.

So I didn't wanted to complicate things.

I messaged her a good night. And I got a reply from her soon.

"Sorry. And Good night 😊."

I smiled at her message and headed home.

The next day morning I reached hospital and was eagerly waiting for Ashni to come for reporting with patient files.

But I got her call.

"Roshan, Roshan...." She said and I am sure she is crying.

"Ashni, where are you? What happened?why are you crying?" I asked.

"I don't know where I am. Hello Roshan, please come, take me from here... Rosh..." She said.

"Hello Ashni... Hello...." I said but there is no response, the line went silent.

I tried to call her again. But it is switched off.

What the heck is happening??
