Ashni POV:

I was very excited to introduce Roshan to my parents. But suddenly he changed my plans and he also acted very weird when he saw my parents, I hope everything is okay. He was very reserved throughout the party too. I introduced him as my colleague and boss only because Roshan insisted that I do so. Not sure why. What he is thinking, what plans he has in there. I am little worried, but I know the fact that he won't hurt me. Maybe he got tensed when he saw my parents. Because he never met just as my friend too. So that's possible. Anyways, I have to talk to him tonight. I couldn't talk to him much as I was busy with the guests. The party went on great and my parents are super happy. So I am happy about that atleast.

I gave a send off to all the guests and came to my room to relax a bit.

Once I got changed and got into my bed, I called Roshan.

"Hello.." his voice seemed little rough and stern.

"I am so sorry, as there were many guests I couldn't spend proper time with you. As soon as I got free, I am calling you. And what happened to your voice? Are you okay?" I asked.

"Nothing happened. I think some drink has different reaction on my throat. May be I had too much." He said.

"Okay. Take care. I can't miss your voice to say sweet things to me." I said and there is no reaction from the other side.

"Roshan." I called him out.

"Yes, I am there. Listen, why don't you take rest. You seem tired." He said.

"Yes, I will. But can I ask you something before that?" I said.

"Yes what is it?" He said.

"Is everything alright? You are not talking sweetly to me. You didn't allow me to introduce you as my boyfriend to my parents. Did I do something wrong?" I asked him.

"No baby. Nothing like that. I am just little tired. And I was actually nervous looking at your parents. That's why I asked if we can postpone telling about me to them. That's all. Don't overthink. Just take rest and we will meet tomorrow in the hospital. Okay." He said.

That's when I was relaxed.

"Okay. Good night. Love you." I said.

"Love you too." He said and I can sense him smiling. I also smiled and went to bed.

A evil plan is going on to hurt Ashni.

"Ashni, just wait and watch. How I am going to destroy your smile, your happiness and your life. Your birthday is not far away. I have a special gift for you."

Roshan POV:

I should not act so weird also. I scared Ashni so much already. Let's not do that again. Let's be normal and not worry Ashni.

I went to the hospital and straight to my cabin and started to work. I told Ashni to come and meet me once she arrives at the hospital.

After few minutes, my cabin door is opened and there is Ashni. Looking at her I smiled.

"How is my baby today?" She said holding my hand.

"I am great and I will be. Don't worry." I said.

"You really scared me yesterday." She said in a complaining tone.

"I know I am sorry for that. I didn't realise, you are the daughter of two famous doctors in the country." I said.

"That doesn't matter. They are famous. Not me." She said.

"I know but I have been seeing them for years now. So making first impression not only as a young fellow doctor but also their precious daughter's boyfriend is not simple and easy. It needs some preparation. As I said, let's them on your birthday. It's just two weeks away right." I explained and tried to convince her.

She looked at me with a small disappointment. But later nodded with a smile. Okay thank god, she agreed.

"Okay fine. But no excuses on my birthday." She said.

"Ofcourse. No excuses. I will also give you the best present ever. The one that you will never forget." I said. She got so excited.

"OMG. What is it?" She asked like a kid.

"Hold your horses kid. I will not tell you now. I will only reveal it on your birthday." I said. She made a sad puppy face immediately.

"Hahaha. I am not gonna fall for her face." I said.

"Okay fine. Now I will go work. You throat is fine right?" She said.

"Yes, it's absolutely fine now." I said. With that she said bye and left my cabin.

Now I have to make plans for her birthday and make it really special. She can never forget that day in her life.

Ashni POV:

Roshan told me that he is planning something really special for me. Now I can't wait. I hate surprises. I can't wait that long. I need to know. I decided to ask Priyam. He would definitely know. I will meet him during lunch. So I went to my ward and started to check on the progress of the patients health.

Soon it was noon. I went to canteen to find Priyam. But I saw Ahana there. It's been so long that I had a proper catch up with her. So I went to talk to her.

"Hello Ahana. How are you?" I asked.

"I am great. How are you and how is your relationship?" She said.

"I am good and my relationship is going great. " I said.

"That's nice to know." She said.

"He even said he is planning something very special for my birthday. But he is not willing to tell what it is." I said with a pout.

"They are called surprises for a reason." She said.

"I know. But there is still 2 weeks. I can't wait that long. Please, can you talk to Priyam and get information.?" I asked.

"Why me?" She said with a strange look.

"Oh come on. I know that you both are really close. Tell me the details first." I said. She is shy now. And her cheeks completely red.

"Ashni, there is nothing like that. Ya we became close as friends and nothing more. " She said.

"Hey, is something written on my face?" I asked her showing my face.

She got confused and asked what?

"That I am an idiot." I said and she laughed.

"Ashni, he is really sweet and trying to make me as comfortable as possible with him. But I am really taking time, because I am not taking any risk of relationships yet. And actually he is willing to wait. So, we are just friends for now. But frankly speaking, I think I am falling for him." She said.

I hugged her immediately.

"Yes please. Love him, marry him. So we all can be together." I said in so much excitement.

"OMG. Hold your horses madam. We are very far from marriage." She said.

"Let's see about that." I said winking at her. She nodded her head as if I am impossible.

"Speaking of relationships. Where are Anrag and Icha?" I asked.

"They are on the same duty. So they are there." She said.

"Is there something between them too?" I asked.

"I am not sure. Because Icha is that close and possessive about all her friends. So it's tough to differentiate her." Ahana said.

"Yes true. Okay, coming to main point. Will you please talk to Priyam and help me. Please..." I said.

She laughed and nodded okay.

"Thanks. I love you." I said and hugged her. And went out.

Ahana POV:

Ashni is really crazy. Once she left, I waited in canteen only for Priyam.

We decided to have lunch together. I am having so much fun and it feels like my life is finally getting normal. With a career, friends and possible future love. Then he came.

"Hello Ahana, how are you? How was your day?" He asked.

"Hello. I am good. And having a wonderful day. How was your?" I asked him.

"It was okay. Had pretty rough morning." He said.

"Oh okay." I said.

"Shall we go out for dinner?" He asked.

"Okay. But where?" I asked. Now I am actually interested to spend more time with him.

"Where ever you want." He said. I smiled at him.

"Thanks. But you can surprise me." I said. And he was surprised by it.

"You are surprising me everyday and giving me shocks." He said and we laughed.

"I want a favour from you." I said.

"What is it? Tell me." He said.

"Roshan is planning a surprise for Ashni for her birthday. And he won't tell her what it is." I said.

"Do you girls know the meaning of surprise?" He asked with a shock.

"I know but she still wants to know and can't wait. Please tell us what he is planning." I said.

"So you want me to get to know about it from Roshan and tell you girls." He said.

I nodded my head with big eyes and big smile.

"OMG. No." He said.

"Please Ashni is my good friend and she did a lot for me. And she asked me for such a small thing." I said.

"Roshan is my friend." He said.

"Please. For me." I said with a puppy face.

"You know that I can't resist your puppy face." He said.

Ahana and Priyam👆

That means I win.

"Thanks." I said and gave him a hug and went out.

Ashni POV:

Ahana said that Priyam agreed to help me. So I went to meet them during the tea break.

I saw them standing in the balcony and have tea and smiling to eachother. Wow, such a cute couple.

"Hello love birds." I greeted them.

"What?" They screamed.

"Spare me the glares and hidden happiness behind those faces. Give me my details." I said. They looked at eachother as if I am real.

"Okay, I spoke to Roshan. He is planning everything by himself and he is not telling anyone. Even his sister doesn't know anything." Priyam said.

"Oh shoot. Now what shall I do?" I said.

"Wait. Be patient." They both screamed.

"Okay fine." I made a sad face.

"See, Roshan loves you a lot. He must be planning something really special for you. So let it be that way." Priyam said.

"Okay. I will do that." I said. And had a chat with them.

After a while I took coffee for Roshan and headed to his cabin.

"Hello... How was your day?" I said as I entered his cabin. I saw Nia, his ex-girlfriend with him.

"Hi Ashni, you got me coffee. Thanks a lot." He said taking the coffee mug from me.

I went and sat with them.

"Hi Nia. I am sorry. I didn't know you were here. Otherwise I would have got you one too." I said to Nia.

"Hey. It's alright. I was just helping Roshan with your birthday." She said.

"Niaaaaa." He said.

"Okay, I am sorry. I wasn't supposed to tell her. I will leave before I give out more details." She said and left the cabin.

"Why her?" I asked him.

"I don't know anyone who can help. I don't know what girls like to do on their birthdays and the kind of surprises they expect from boyfriends." He said.

"Why her?" I asked again.

"Because she is only friend of mine who is a girl." He said.

"You could have asked your sister." I said.

"Mayu is having exams. And she is visiting just for your birthday. She is little stressed. That's why I didn't ask her." He said.

"Okay. But I am just uncomfortable her being around or with you alone." I said.

"Why? I told you that I don't like her that way. She is only my good friend." He said assuring me.

"Okay. I love you." I said. He smiled at me sipping the coffee.

"Okay, you take a break. I will get back to the duty." I said.

"Okay have a good day." He said and I left the cabin.

I went out of the hospital to get some medications from the store and I saw Nia near her car.

I thought I will talk to her. And went to her.

"Hi, " I said.

"Hello Ashni." She said.

"Thanks for helping Roshan with the surprise planning." I said.

"You are welcome. And he is my friend. I will help him out with anything." She said.

Ashni and Nia👆

"I know but I wanted to thank you for helping him for my birthday." I said.

"Hey that's no problem. You are the luckiest girlfriend, whose boyfriend is planning so much to propose." She said.

What???

"What?" I said.

"I am so sorry. I am really sorry. Please forget that I said anything. Please please. Pretty please. He is going to kill me. Please." She said.

"Okay fine. It's okay. I won't tell him." I said.

"Okay thanks. We never met and we never talked. Bye." She said and ran out.

OMG. He is going to propose to me. OMG this is big. I should tell someone before my brain explodes.

I went to the interns room.

"OMG OMG OMG." I kept screaming.

"OMG. What happened?" Icha said.

"Roshan is planning to propose to me on my birthday." I said.

What????? They all screamed.

"Yes, Nia told me. He is taking her help to plan everything out. She by mistake slipped out and told me." I said.

"OMG. Congratulations. I am so happy for you. OMG. I can't wait for that day. This is so exciting." Icha said.

"Wait wait. Ashni, is this what you want?" Anrag said.

He is very protective of me.

"Yes, you know that I don't date unless I am serious about that person. I know this is little too soon may be we will take sometime for fixing the marriage date and etc." I said.

"Okay then I am happy for you. Yay." He said and we all started to scream.

"Guys, what's going on? We are in a room." Priyam said coming in.

"Roshan is planning to propose to Ashni on her birthday." Ahana said.

"What? Really? OMG. It's great news." Now he also joined us in the joy.

"Guys, what's happening?" Roshan said now coming in.

"Nothing nothing." I said. He looked at us as if we are crazy.

"Whatever it is? Keep your excitement on hold because we are in hospital on duty and we are on duty too." He said and left.

"Thank god." I said.

"Guys, please don't let him know that we all know his plan now. He is working hard for it. So please act normal. And especially Ashni you. Keep your calm. Please." Priyam said.

We all agreed to stay calm. But I clearly can't keep my calm. So I thought to go and visit Roshan and spend sometime with him.

"Hello." I said as I went in.

"God lord. What were you guys screaming about? You guys were going crazy." He said.

"I am so sorry about that. We were just excited about a new movie coming up this weekend." I said.

"Really? For a movie, you guys were screaming on the top of your lungs." He said sarcastically.

"I am really sorry about that." I said.

"It's okay. But be careful and don't repeat it." He said looking at his files.

"Sure. Are you busy? Shall I come later?" I asked.

"No you can sit and talk and I will be listening to your beautiful voice and just work." He said.

"You are so sweet." I said. He smiled at me.

"Roshan, I really can't tell how much I am happy to have you in my life. Thanks for everything. Thanks for loving me, comforting me, caring for me, being considerate about me." I said.

"Ashni, what happened? You sound so happy and I am happy that it's because of me. But still all of a sudden?" He asked.

"Nothing, just felt like thanking you. I don't thank you enough." I said.

"OMG. Love is in the air now. Go to work. I am scared that I am not gonna complete my work with you distracting me." He said.

"Okay fine. I will go. But can we go out for dinner tonight?" I asked.

"Ofcourse anything for you." He said.

"I love you." I said.

"I love you too" He said.

I went to out of his cabin. And started to work, but I kept getting distracted. I can't take it that lightly.

I kept wondering what he is going to say? how it will be? what should I wear? What is he gonna wear? How will my parents react? Will they agree? Will they like him? What will happen after that?

OMG so many questions. Roshan was right. I should have just waited till my birthday. It would be much better that way and this way I wouldn't have struggled this way.

Somehow I finished my work and waited for Roshan to come at his car.

"Hey, did I make you wait for long?" Roshan asked as he came and gave a peck on my cheek.

"No, not at all." I said. We went out for dinner and had a wonderful time.

"Thanks for this Roshan." I said when he came to drop me home.

"You know there are other ways to say thanks." Saying this he started to move towards me. I gave me just a peck quickly and ran out of the car.

"That's not fair." He screamed.

I went running inside, laughing. This is going great.

With all the teasing from my friends, and trying my best to hide my excitement infront of Roshan and trying best to concentrate on work. OMG. It has been so tough.

The next weekend I went shopping with my girls. Once they came to know about the proposal, they kept bugging me to dress like a princess. And kept bragging to go for shopping. And they even made me cancel my plans with Roshan that weekend.

"Girls, I wanted to spend time with Roshan." I said.

"Relax it's just for one weekend. Let him live his life for one weekend. He is having you for the rest of the life." Icha said and Ahana laughed. I hit her with a shopping bag.

"Or just think it this week, give me some privacy to plan your special day more specially." Ahana said.

"Okay, give me my phone atleast. I will just text him once." I said.

No, they both screamed.

"Okay fine." I said. We continued to shop, they found the perfect pink pretty dress for my birthday.

"Are you happy with this dress?" Icha asked.

"Happy? I am thrilled. Thanks for taking me out today." I said.

"This is coming from the girl who whined to come out and missed her boyfriend throughout." Ahana said sarcastically.

"Okay fine. I am so sorry." I said. We continued to shop more. And went out for lunch, movie and then dinner.

It was different to have a girls day and it was so much fun and I had a wonderful time with the girls.

I went back home.

"Hi mom and dad." I wished them.

"So finished your birthday shopping?" Mom asked.

"Yes, and I had so much fun together." I said and then showed them the dress, accessories and all the other things.

"All these things look pretty. Great choice. I am already guessing that you are going to have a great time and a wonderful birthday of all time." Dad said.

"Thanks dad." I said.

"Okay, go and take rest. You have a long week to go." Mom said.

I went back to my room and dialled his number.

"Hello baby." I said.

"Hello, how was your day out with girls?" He asked.

"It was so much fun, and I had a wonderful time. And I got all the things for my birthday too." I said.

"That's great. What did you get? Send me pics." He said.

"No no. You have to see me on my birthday." I said.

"Wow. Okay fine." He said. We continued to talk for a while and then went to sleep.

With this excitement, fun and happiness and the entire week went by.

I had such a lovely moments with Roshan. He is such a sweetheart.

*After a week*

And tomorrow is my birthday. And at the midnight, I am waiting for wishes from Roshan. But I am not sure, because at 12 exactly my family makes a special celebration with us. Just family.

I got the call from Roshan at 11:50PM.

"Hello Princess. Advance Happy Birthday Wishes." He wished.

"Thanks a lot. But there is still time." I said.

"I know, but your family celebrates at 12 exactly and that is more important. And I don't want to ruin that traditional. So decided to call you in advance and talk to you till 12." He said.

"OMG. That's so sweet of you. I love you so much." I said.

"I love you too princess." He said.

"You are coming to my birthday party tomorrow right?" I asked him.

"Ofcourse I wouldn't miss it for the world." He said. And as he said he kept talking till 12. I disconnected the call at 12 when my family came to wish me.

"Happy birthday princess." Mom and dad wished me. And had a birthday cake in hand.

"Thanks mom dad." I said and there was Anrag and his parents and our grand parents.

"I can't believe that you are grown up. You were this little kid who is used to come to me, saying 'uncle take me to the park, I will give you a kissy'" uncle said and everyone laughed.

"Can we not bring up my childhood stories?" I asked.

"Yes yes, 'Nani Nani, my doll is sick. Please give me medicine and hot water.'" My Nani said and everyone laughed more.

"Okay fine." I said. We all went into the hall and cut the cake. And had a memorable celebration with my family.

"Doll, go sleep, tomorrow is a big day, all our family and your friends are coming." Mom said.

"But before that, in the morning we are going to temple." Nani said.

I said okay and went to bed after answering calls from Ahana, Icha and Priyam.

I am so excited for tomorrow. It is really big day and I can't wait anymore. I tried really hard to sleep, but I failed very badly.

The next day morning, I went to temple with my family and prayed that my coming life with Roshan goes well.

And in the evening party started to go off in full swing. Most of my relatives, family friends came. Soon my friends started to come.

"Hello guys, welcome." I said.

"Once again, happy birthday Ashni and you look gorgeous." Priyam said.

"Seriously you look like a princess. Happy Birthday Ashni." Icha said.

"Happy Birthday Ashni, my love." Icha said.

"Thanks dear." I said. We all laughed. And then came there teasing again.

"Thanks Priyam for picking up Ahana and Icha." I said.

"It's no big deal. Anything for you." He said.

"Anything for me or anything for Ahana." I said and we teased him.

"So are you ready to get engaged tonight?" Priyam said, with that they started to tease me now.

I am eagerly waiting for Roshan.

"He is coming. Don't worry." Priyam said.

"I am not looking for him." I said defending myself.

"Then whom are you waiting for?" He asked and I couldn't answer that and everyone laughed. That's when we heard a voice.

"Hello everyone, can I have your attention please. "

I looked in the direction of the voice and saw that it's Roshan.

OMG it's happening. I heard Icha saying that in the background.

Mayuri 👆(Roshan's sister - Asha Negi)

"That's Mayu, Roshan's sister." Priyam wishpered in my ear pointing to a girl next to him. Roshan continued

"Today is a very special day, when this angel came and enlightened many lives. And I want to make her mine for the rest of my life. I can't imagine myself without her in my life, I love her so much, she made me smile, to enjoy and enrich every little thing in my life, to know the worth of the people in my life. She made me smile, and made everyday brighter. If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have realised the worth of it. And if someone gets a teasure like that in life, how can they let it go. So I also want to seize this opportunity and ask her something very important."

With that he got down on one knee, and took out the ring.
