Chapter 6: Stay Alive Part 2
Samuel woke up in a white room. He doesn't like the color white much anymore, even though he doesn't admit it. He's scared it's taking him back to the time he came from, away from the people who accepted him. He was scared and flustered, pale in the face. That is, until he noticed a figure sleeping in the chair next to his bed. "Y/N..." He whispered softly. He took her hand in his, rubbing over it with his thumb. At this, she woke up. Her beautiful e/c eyes looked straight at him the moment she was fully awake.
"Samuel!" She whisper-yelled, as she jumped in for a hug. He wasn't sure if it was the sudden realization that he was knocked out, or that Y/N L/N was hugging him, but his heart rate spiked tremendously. He mentally prayed that she didn't notice, and she didn't. He suddenly realized she was still on his chest, and put his arms around her, while trying not to scream as loud as possible.
"Well," She said as she smiled.
"I'm assuming, since they sent me to tell you they are discharging you, that you would like to come home." Samuel's almost leapt out of his chest when she said this.
"Home...my home. With her." He smiled as that thought kept in his mind. He hadn't felt this happy in a long, long time.
"Let's go home." He said with a smile as she lead down to the car in the parking garage. She smiled an angelic smile (in his mind at least) and unlocked the car. They both got in and put on their seatbelts.
"I can't wait to go home..." Samuel said with a sigh. Y/N intertwined her hand in his, oblivious to the blush on his face.
"Me too!" She said happily.
"It's Friday. TGIF!" Samuel was confused by this. "TGI-wha?" He said with a confused look on his face.
"He's so cute!!" She thought to herself. Going back to reality, she explained it. "It means Thank God It's Friday! Because that means no more school until Monday!" She said as she drove along the highway.
"But why ever would you want not to learn? It makes you smart and prepares you for the future!" He said. Y/N laughed and smiled.
"You sound like my-" She stopped herself halfway. She now looked like she had had a dementor visit her - like all the joy in her life had been sucked out of her. Samuel was concerned as they pulled into her driveway. "Y/N?" He said, worry evident in his voice. "Are you alright dear?" He said softly, putting a hand on her shoulder. She lightly shrugged it off, and turned to him.
"I'm alright Samuel." She said with a smile (which he could tell was fake compared to her usual angelic one) as she unlocked the front door. It was quiet, but not the usual comfortable kind Samuel had with Y/N. It was filled with sorrow and tension, like everything was lying in wait for something to happen. And as Samuel lay, back leaning on the back Y/N's bedroom door, that thing happened. Samuel heard yelling from Y/N's room. But she was on the phone. With George. He was screaming from the other line, Samuel knew that much. Y/N had locked her bedroom door, and locked herself inside at the same time. Samuel begged her to let him in. But she never gave in, telling him to leave. Samuel, though he would never it to anybody, would never leave her. If he left, he might not be able to come back. And life wasn't worth living if Y/N wasn't in his. So he stayed. After a while, the eye of the hurricane came. The yelling stopped, and he heard soft footsteps climb into a bed. What he heard next broke his heart. Muffled agonizing sobbing. "All I want is for her to be in my arms. She's a maiden too fair for all of this!" He said, putting his head in his knees. After a little bit, fatigue began to set in. He could feel his eyes closing. But they snapped open when he heard the lock begin to click. The door opened, and he gathered himself and stood. A tired, red-eyed Y/N opened the door. She smiled a small smile. "You stayed." She asked, more of a question than statement. Samuel smiled and replied. "Darling, I'm never leaving." She smiles at this. She took his hand, and lead him to her bed. She got in and pointed to the open pillow. "Please stay." She asked. Though he didn't show it much, his soul had pretty much exited his body out of excitement. "I would love to." He said as he got under the covers. The last thing he thought as he fell asleep was this:
"I could treat her so much better than this. I will stay alive for her. Long enough for her to know how much I love her."
