sun kingdom
Geography and Nature
Landscapes
The Sun Kingdom is first and foremost above the other kingdoms and in the sky. It's comprised of many large, floating islands. Some are connected by bridges while other smaller islands float between the larger ones. On these islands are lakes and waterfalls that fall into other islands. There are trees and greenery dotting most islands. The terrain of most islands are typically that of hills and plains, some large enough to be mountains with caves and caverns.
Weather/Climate
The weather is seemingly perfect in the Sun Kingdom. It's always sunny - even when it rains. It's always comfortably warm with a cool breeze. The sun is always visible, not always high in the sky, but it's never dark and starry in the Sun Kingdom. Most Sun Citizens have adapted to such light and can sleep perfectly fine. However, there are special curtains and magic used to make it dark if someone ever needs it.
Flora
The plants of the Sun Kingdom are always lush and full, bursting with colour and life. With the constant sun and sun-showers they're free to thrive without too much extra care. Plants that survive on little light are void in the Sun Kingdom. Other than that, they tend to have a lot of large evergreen trees, lively shrubbery and beautiful flowers. There's one flower that grows on the highest of the islands, on the tallest of the mountains, the peak of the kingdom; the Golden Flower. It has magical properties that work in healing and invincibility spells.
Fauna
Just like majority of its citizens the Sun Kingdom is full of winged creatures that can fly and/or glide. Most are common types of birds, insects, and mammals. They're rather docile and easy to tame as pets and companions. There are some animals that don't typically have wings but do in this Kingdom. Some creatures do have magical aspects like sparkling in the sunlight, shooting fire and providing light.

History and Conflicts
Due to its location the Sun Kingdom has tended to avoid the wars and feuds of the lower Kingdoms. Sometimes they do provide resources and aid to the Summer Kingdom, the Spring Kingdom, and the Light Kingdom. They have very little interest in the other Kingdoms. However, as long as most of its citizens can remember, the Sun Kingdom has always been enemies with the Lunar Kingdom. Anything sort of relations with them is forbidden and most of their history and education is twisted to put the Lunar Kingdom in a bad light.
Economics and Resources
The floating islands have diverse ecosystems that allow for the Sun Kingdom to be self-sufficient. They mine the mountains for minerals and ores that turn into jewellery and decorations. Plants grow at an excessive rate meaning food and materials for other crafts are never limited. There are only a few merchants allowed to travel to other kingdoms and trade for rare items. These are usually granted and returned to the royals.
Hierarchy
Class and social statuses are rather strict in the Sun Kingdom. While statuses can change, it is easier to fall than it is to climb. At the top are the royals, next the nobility, and then the Sun Flares. The commoners are divided into three classes: upper, middle, and lower. The lower class isn't treated with disrespect but some do avoid them for worry of association. Yet, there is one more with a lower rank: Fallen Angels.
Culture
General
The culture of the Sun Kingdom has a large focus on one of their values in particular, and that's glamour. Every citizen, no matter the class, is fixated on looking their best and assuring they are the one looking the best. There's an unspoken challenge between the higher classes to try and outshine the royals; it's basically impossible. But, alongside looking their best and shining bright like the sun, the culture is also about proving yourself the best. Competitions and coming out on top are common goals and activities. Distaste toward and shunning the Lunar Kingdom is also a big part of the culture. Most have been brainwashed by history and propaganda to go along; those that do not are safer keeping it to themselves.
Colours and Values
Colours: Golds, reds, and whites.
Values: Boldness, glamour, and honour.
Sun Flares
Sun Flares are the elite knights of the Sun Kingdom. While any noble worthy of a weapon can become a knight, it is much harder for them to become a Sun Flare. These knights are hand picked by the Kings' and must go through rigorous tests and training before they can present themselves to the royals. Families like the Sorin's and Aoki's would be top choices and aim to have their family represented in the Sun Flares. Their job is to protect the royals, be on the frontlines of any feud, and even do the royals dirty work. It is a strict job; their work cannot be taken out of meetings with the royals and relationships are forbidden. They must dedicate their whole lives and person to the title otherwise there will be consequences. Sun Flares have a sun tattooed on their wrist to prove their title.
Fallen Angels
Fallen Angels are considered the lowest on the hierarchy. Some would even consider them not on the hierarchy at all, thinking them something completely unrelated to the Sun Kingdom due to the dishonour that follows their fall. People are welcome to leave the Sun Kingdom, but to do so one must file forms and be approved by the royals. Those who do not go through that process and leave of their own accord become Fallen Angels and it is almost impossible to return to the Kingdom unless they prove themselves honourable again. However, there are other types of Fallen Angels. These ones have no chance to return. If an angel is to be caught fraternising with someone of the Lunar Kingdom their punishment is not simply jail but to be banished from the Sun Kingdom; thus making them a Fallen Angel. Sun Flares who go against their job will also face this punishment and become Fallen Angels.
Art and Entertainment
In the Sun Kingdom there is a constant barrage of entertainment. Looks aren't the only things people are constantly trying to exceed in. Galleries holding competitions for paintings and sculptures are all over the kingdom. Theatres are open for plays and dances. The streets sing with musical performances. The most notable events include those listed below.
Beauty Pageants
Small beauty pageants against the nobles and commoners happen a few times a month. It's a way to show off their styles and outfits and prove who's the best. Most are done in friendly spirits but some can turn ugly and turn families against each other. However, the biggest Beauty Pageant occurs once a year, and it's a lifetime opportunity for anyone to be a part of it. It's the one pageant the royals compete in and the nobility and commoners go through trials and auditions to join. There are two stages: the first is the pageant the royals compete in and people who try to show them up compete in this one; and the other is open for people who know it's basically impossible to win against the royals. The winners of each get to spend a night together. While most people attend to show off their beauty, others use it as an event to scout for suitors.
The Colosseum and the Sun Tournament
The colosseum is on an entire island all to itself. Tournaments and training are held all year to improve and show off one's strength. However, twice a year the Sun Tournament is held over a week. People come to watch the Sun Flares fight against each other, against nobles, and against the royals. There's round robin tournaments as well as a free-for-all arena fight. The winners receive bountiful gold and a week living in the palace. Smaller competitions held throughout the week allow for commoners to fight one another and for people to fight against the beasts locked away for this occasion.
The Sun Dance
While balls are held almost every week by many nobles, and some even the royals themselves if they have news to celebrate, the Sun Dance is the largest, most notable ball of them all. The palace opens its gates to all to celebrate the end of the year and the beginning of the next one. People dress up in elaborate costumes and masks and decorations on their wings and dance the night away. It is this night the royals are open to suitors and many are trying to win a dance with them.
Magic
The most common magic in the Sun Kingdom is sun magic. This magic has two sides to it: healing and growth; and fire and destruction. Light magic is also a common form of magic angels are born with. Some practice summer magic due to the similarities. The only magic that is banned is any form of lunar magic. The use of lunar magic will result in severe punishment like becoming a Fallen Angel. Dark magic will have you questioned and potentially sent to the dungeons but it is not as strict as lunar magic.
Fashion
Just like the sun itself, the fashion of the Sun Kingdom is bright, boisterous and like a shining beacon in the sky. Every citizen, even those from the lower class, are trying to outshine one another with their clothes. Jewellery, accessories, gold, glitter, sequins, and anything that can make a person shine are popular among all.
Royalty shines the most. They have the most expensive outfits and accessories. They're also not afraid to show a bit of skin.
Nobility is a close match but can still be differentiated from the royals. They tend to dress a bit more modestly and hold back on the smallest bit of shimmer.
The upper class have fewer accessories but don't hold back the shine. They stick to the reds and oranges.
Middle class citizens are less extravagant but do their best to make casual looks stand out. They stick to oranges and yellows.
The lower class is most easily identifiable through clothes. They tend to stick to white colours, have little accessories, and not as much shimmer. What they can afford they try to focus on their wings in hopes it will give them attention from someone willing to help out if they're in a bad situation.
