Peter and Zoe give Caspian a nod to let him know to continue with the other reason that the citizens had been gathered for.
"Narnia belongs to Narnians, just as it does to man. Any Telemarines who want to stay and live in peace are welcome to," Caspian announces as he looks out at the people from Telmar. "But for any of you who wish Aslan will return you to the home of our forefathers."
"It's been generations since we left Telmar," The General states as he stands with Caspian's aunt and nephew.
"We're not referring to Telmar. Your ancestors were seafaring brigands. Pirates run aground on an island. There they found a cave, a rare chasm that brought them here from their world," Aslan explains, causing the Telemarines to whisper among themselves. "The same world as our kings and queens. It is to that island I can return you. It is a good place for any who wish to make a new start."
"I will go," The General volunteers as he looks down at Caspian's aunt. "I will accept the offer." Caspian bows his head to the general as he walks forward.
"So will we," Caspian's aunt announces as she walks forward with her father and son.
"Because you have spoken first, your future in that world shall be good," Aslan reveals as he breathes heavily on them before the trees behind Aslan untwist, creating a doorway. The general, Caspian's aunt, and her father walk through the trees before disappearing from sight.
"Where did they go? How do we know he is not leading us to our death?" The people question.
"Sire. If my example can be of any service, I will take 11 mice through with no delay," Reepicheep offers while Peter, Zoe, and Susan share a knowing look as Aslan looks over at them.
"We'll go," Peter offers as he and Zoe step forward.
"We will?" Edmund asks with his eyebrows raised in confusion since he knew how badly Peter had wanted to return.
"Come on. Our time's up," Susan agrees with Peter as she stands beside him and Zoe.
"After all... we are not really needed here anymore," Zoe adds as she and Peter walk over to Caspian before handing their swords to him.
"I will look after them until you return," Caspian tells them as Zoe lightly smiles.
"I'm afraid that's just it," Susan comments with a frown as she walks over to him. "We're not coming back."
"We're not?" Lucy asks with a hurt expression.
"You two are," Zoe is quick to answer her as she looks over at Aslan. "At least, I think he means you two."
"But why? Did they do something wrong?" Lucy questions as she walks over to Aslan.
"Quite the opposite, dear one," Aslan responds with a smile as Zoe walks over to Trumpkin as she takes her crown off before placing it on the pillow. "But all things have their time. Your brother, sister, and Zoe have learned what they can from this world. Now it's time for them to live in their own."
"It's all right, Lu," Peter admits as he looks around. "It's not how I thought it would be but it's all right. One day you'll see, too. Come on."
The Pevensies walk over to Trufflehunter, Reepicheep, Trumpkin, and the Professor. Edmund bows to Reepicheep and Trufflehunter. Trumpkin passes the pillow with Zoe's crown to Trufflehunter as she and Lucy approach him. Zoe and Lucy each bow to Trumpkin before they each pull him into a hug.
"I'm glad I came back," Susan admits as she stands in front of Caspian.
"I wish we had more time together," Caspian reveals as Susan looks down as she holds back tears before taking a deep breath.
"It would never have worked, anyway," Susan jokes as she looks back up at the boy.
"Why not?" Caspian asks with an eyebrow raised in confusion.
"I am 1,300 years older than you," Susan teases which causes Caspian to smile.
Susan goes to walk away but knew she would regret not doing the one thing she really wanted to do. She quickly turns back before pulling Caspian into a kiss.
"I'm sure when I'm older I'll understand," Lucy says to Peter as they watch their sibling.
Peter and Zoe share a smile as he wraps an arm around her waist while she leans her head against him.
"I'm older and don't think I want to understand," Edmund adds which causes Peter and Zoe to laugh.
Susan joins her family as they look around at everyone one last time before making their way between the trees. Lucy and Zoe each look back at Aslan before they disappear between the trees.
