1. That you have to have a gf to be valid as a lesbian.

You do not need to date a girl, just to feel like your big lesbian.
If you are a woman who only dates women you are a lesbian. Single or not.

2. That you have to come out at a young age.

Many things are wrong with this. You definitely should not come out as anything, unless you know that your parents will love and support you.

You can get kicked out, beaten up, or killed. Just because it's 2020 does not mean that it's completely safe. Because no matter what year it is hate will always be here, sadly.

3. Being forced into relationships.

I don't feel like this needs to be said. Because it's not really a lesbian only thing.

But there was a time where I was forced into dating someone to " prove " myself. So I got into something I really didn't want to be in, she was really nice but she just wasn't a girl that i see myself with.
So short story we both broke up and we never talked again.

It was really sad. We were both close, but just because I was pressured into it I just fucked everything up. So take it from me separate friendship from romantic interest.

4. Dating when you are in a horrible environment.

(This kinda goes along with two.)

Let's say you are comfortable with yourself and you know you want to date this girl.

But you also have to take into consideration where you live.
If you are living in a home where your parents are not supporting you. Then do not date. You can get kicked out, hurt, or killed.
Then you are putting the lives of your girlfriend at risk.

5. That girls won't hurt you.

This one is probably one of the most annoying ones.

Girls can be toxic or abusive also. It's not just a guy thing. I don't want to scare you but when your dating no matter what gender you are or what gender/s you are into, you can get hurt.

It could be emotionally or physically. Both very harmful.

So stop thinking that women can do no wrong. Because they can be.
I just get very worked up on this. Even my mom, the most supportive mom ever, thinks that she wouldn't get hurt if she just dated a girl.

6. "I can turn you gay"

Oh. My. God

I hate when lesbian say this. I understand if it's a joke. But I have seen lesbian and bisexual women say that "I can change your mind"

And it's wrong! You cannot change someone's sexuality! You get mad when guys say that to you! Oh but it's okay when you say that to straight girls because you're a girl? Just shut up.

7. He/him Lesbians

Now this one should be easy to say. That's it's not real, but no.

A lesbian is a homosexual woman. A GIRL that likes GIRLS. A women who only sleeps/dates with only females!

Now I feel like everyone deserves to be happy with their pronouns. But when you use he/him pronouns and say you're a lesbian you make no sense.

He /him pronouns go with being a man.

She/her pronouns go with being a woman.

They/them pronouns go with neither.

Now when you say that you are lesbian your pronouns will be she/her or maybe she/they.
(If you would like my opinion on non Binary lesbian just ask)

Because if you say that it's he/him you are saying that my dad's a lesbian, my grandpa is a lesbian.

Plus you're making a mockery out of trans men who use the pronouns he/him because they are a man. But you are a women, most likely, saying that you're the same as trans men. As a queen once said "MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!"
