🏝️The Island Lore🏝️

The Island

Landscapes:
-

The island is obviously an island. It's in the middle of the ocean. It emits a pretty powerful magical signature that typically draws people in. There's a fog that actually surrounds the island, and there's a cove of shipwrecks near the beach. The outermost parts of the island are huge forests and thorns. There's lots of valleys though and the occasional mountain. The island changes a lot depending on the story going on that week.

Climate/Weather:
- It depends on what story is being told that week. For the most part, the weather is almost always eerily sunny and perfect. There's the occasional storm, but it doesn't happen often.

Flora/Fauna:
- Most of the plants or flowers found on the island have some sort of magical quality to them. There isn't anything too dangerous, but the plants found in the forest would be considered the most dangerous. The island does change a lot, but the plants remain the same for the most part.

Wildlife:
- Most wildlife found is extremely friendly, and can be a companion. The wildlife is also mostly all magical. There's more scary animals found in the forests, but nothing that's extremely deadly. There are rumors of a dragon flying around during the nighttime, but since people aren't allowed out at night, it's not mentioned often.

"Royal" Family:
- Queen Nadia - Michelle Pfeiffer
- Princess Lucy - Xoangxa

To be technical, neither of them are royalty. Lucy came from a noble family, along with her father and her step-mother Nadia. While traveling the seas, their boat ended up wrecking and they washed up onto the island. Their family does have magic, and they were mostly able to use that magic to survive and make a home for themselves there. Anytime they tried leaving, their boat would wreck and they'd end up back on the shore. It's like the Bermuda triangle of islands.

More people began to crash and end up on the island. Plenty of people tried leaving, but of course no one was successful. Some people accepted their circumstances and with that they began making homes there. Everything was going mostly fine. Until Lucy's father died. Lucy was unable to control her magic, and couldn't cope with the death of her father. So her magic ended up taking control.

Her magic managed to transform the entire island to be similar to that of a fairy-tale. Her home was transformed into a castle. Lucy doesn't even fully understand what happened because she believes that her life has always been like this. That she's an actual princess. Nadia has taken advantage of that, mainly because she enjoys being queen. She assigns roles for the villagers to play, and they do it. People who don't obey their roles or act out their stories (which will be explained in culture), always end up going missing. It usually also puts the other people in their story at risk of going missing too. Nadia keeps the princess up in the castle, because she doesn't want her to find out the truth since the villagers also have their memories.

Kingdom Spirit:
- This isn't really recognized as a kingdom, because it wasn't even made at the same as all the other kingdoms. Plus, it's only a kingdom through magic and there's no real royal blood there. If there was, then it'd be recognized and maybe get a spirit. No spirit for now though.

Culture:
- How it works is that everyone is assigned some sort of role by the Queen. It could be something major like Cinderella, or something minor like a fairy. Something like that. Occasionally a role can switch depending on what is needed that week. Each week, the focus is put on a different fairy-tale. One week it could be the 12 dancing princesses, and another week it could be something random. People who aren't acting out their fairy-tale still have to be in character, as the Queen is typically watching at all times.
- Everyone knows the queen is pretty wicked, and has dark magic. So for the most part, people just obey the rules and act as their told. The fairy-tales always have a happy ending because it's what the Princess wants.
- No one is allowed outside of their homes at night, because that's when the Princess's magic is usually weaker and recharging. So the illusion of everything becomes weaker.
- Love is valued here, and happy endings. At least by the Princess. The Queen doesn't value either of those.

History/Conflicts:
- There really isn't any conflicts except the village people not being happy that they're forced to put on a show almost 24/7.
- This island does have a way to actually get off of it that no one has discovered in their time there. There's a spell that's in a book buried near the beach that just hasn't been found by anyone. Mainly because the thorns and dark forest are pretty dangerous to get past.

Economics/Resources:
- With the island being magical, even before Lucy, there was still resources there for people to use. With Lucy, she's just using her magic (not that she knows) to make everything how it is. They can't really trade with other kingdoms because they're stuck at that island.
- They also get new resources every-time someone's boat ends up wrecking, they try salvaging what they can. At least they did before the whole magical fairy-tale spell thing. Now only the Queen's guards search the wrecks.

The Queen's Guards/Servants:
- Her guards and servants are people who were previously villagers. They're also not really allowed near the princess, and when they are they're not allowed to speak to her. Their uniforms look similar to that of playing cards. Her inner circle also has fashion based off of playing cards. Guards are responsible for maintaining order and servants just make sure everything is looking clean, or that the fairy-tale of the week is being recorded and broadcasted properly.

Hierarchy:
- They don't have a class system because that wouldn't exactly fit with the illusion of the world Lucy's magic has created. However, the Queen is considered the most high-ranking, then the Princess, the Queen's inner circle, the Queen's guards, the villagers, and then the servants. Her joker is also one of the lower ranking members. There's no upper-class and lower-class though.

Arts/Entertainment:
- The fairy-tales are recorded live and broadcasted. They're monitored by the queen's servant, and in the even that someone goes against their part then the footage usually cuts out. It's available for everyone to watch in their homes though. That's what most people have for entertainment.
- Technically balls are hosted, but it's usually relating to some sort of fairy-tale event. So, it's not exactly the most relaxing or freeing time.
- People that aren't involved that week do have to stay in their homes, but they can entertain themselves through reading, or playing games. They're allowed out when the recording takes a break, and they're able to go to the bakery or market.

Magic:
- Most of the magic found here is either light magic or dark magic. However, other magic forms can exist. Lucy's magic is what keeps everything running though, even if she doesn't know it.

Fashion:
- There are no kingdom colors, and most of the clothing is relatively bright and colorful. Outfits are typically provided to people to wear when they're going to be recorded.
- The queen and princess are always dressed nicely, but people only really get to see the Queen from time to time. The Queen can be seeing wearing dark reds, or black, and the princess is seen in lighter colors.
- The Queen's cards and court have clothing that is inspired by cards. Their fashion isn't over the top extravagant or anything, but it's enough to where they fit into the whimsical vibe of the island.
- Village people will either have really gorgeous gowns that they're wearing for their stories when it's more formal, or they'll just have more cottage-core esque fashion. They try dressing more casually when they're not performing.
