⚙️ Tech Kingdom Lore (Updated) ⚙️
The Tech Kingdom
Landscape:
- The Tech Kingdom has a more rocky landscape to it. There's lots of caves that can be found. The forests found are mostly artificial? Nothing grows too well because of all the smoke produced in the lower class areas, so most nature is either made of tech or grown with odd chemicals that have altered the properties of it. Some lakes have toxic chemicals in them though, so it's not really recommended to explore nature.
Weather/Climate:
- The weather in the Tech Kingdom is mostly fine. Occasionally they do have very severe lightning storms because of all the tech and electricity use in the kingdom. It is cloudy a majority of the time though because of the amount of smoke produced from their factories.
Flora/Fauna:
- Like the landscape, most of the flowers are robotic rather than real. The flowers that come from the royal family usually have some sort of camera in them so that they can watch over everyone at all times. It's not really known information though.
Wildlife:
- Most of the wildlife in the Tech Kingdom is either made artificially, or it's a mutated creature. The wildlife can't even be trusted in the Tech Kingdom. The birds are programmed to record and inform the royal family about what's happening. The mutated creatures are typically from the environment, or they're escaped lab experiments from the royals.
Royals:
Queen Veda - Charlize Theron
Queen Zora - Julianne Moore
Cato - younés kahlaoui
Nova - yzissuki
Quinn - she/they - Jessie Mei Li
(There's an extra space if you'd like to make a character)
All of the children of the royal family are actually adopted. Young children in the Tech Kingdom take annual testing and their results are sent to the Tech Kingdom. From that, Queen Veda and Queen Zora both selected the children showing the most promise for intelligence. They are mainly kept away in the castle, under the surveillance of the Queens.
Both Queens have experimented on their children, mainly with the end goal of turning them into both the perfect beings, and human weapons. In fact, the royal children have a code word that, if said by either Queen, will put them into battle mode.
The Queens desire ultimate control over not just their own kingdom, but the kingdoms around them. So, they've begun developing a mind controlling chip. The chip at the moment only works on people who have some sort of tech part on them. The chip would allow them to create their own mindless army that could be used to wage war among the kingdoms.
The Queens also have their own lab which is underneath the castle. It's here where they experiment on people, testing their "scientific magic" or testing obedience chips on them.
The Kingdom Spirit:
Remus - Hugh Laughton Scott
Remus is very introverted, and very secluded. He does as he's told, mainly for the sake of avoiding conflict. He's more likely to value a logical solution than an emotional one though. He also takes forever to make a choice.
History/Conflicts:
- They've always been looked at oddly by the other kingdoms because of their focus on technological advancement and science instead of relying on magic. They remain slightly secluded from everyone else, but aren't lacking in resources for sure. They've dabbled with the dark kingdom a little bit over the years, and the lunar kingdom, but are mostly their own little neutral (ish) kingdom.
- There's been minor disputes throughout the years about how poorly the lower class has been treated. There are rebels, but no rebellion has ever been successful thus far.
The Rebels:
- There's a group of people known as the rebels of the Tech Kingdom. They disagree with the rule of the Queens, and the way lower-class citizens are treated. They mainly have fashion influences of the "even lower class". The group has secret meetings that change location every time because of the constant watchful eyes in the Tech Kingdom.
Hierarchy:
- Class is very apparent in the Tech Kingdom. There's the royals, the upper-class, the lower-class, and then the "even lower class". The actual Tech Castle is in the heart of the kingdom with the upper-class surrounding it. Around them is the lower class. The outskirts of the kingdom mainly consist of the "even lower class" and have the most criminal activity to them.
The Upper-Class:
- The upper-class is obsessed with becoming the "perfect" beings. Which is why people of the upper-class are constantly modifying themselves with robotic parts in an effort to remain "perfect". All upper-class citizens live in the same area, and it's considerably more lavish than any of the other parts of the kingdom besides the castle. People of the upper-class can not talk to people who are of lower classes without being looked down upon in some kind of way.
The Lower-Class
- The people of the lower-class have more outdated tech. They're influenced by steampunk rather than the sci-fi tech used by the upper-class. For the most part, the living conditions of the lower class aren't horrible. Most of the villages there aren't terrible, and the people are able to reach ends meet by working in factories for the Tech Kingdom.
The "Even Lower Class"
- This class was not apart of the original hierarchy established in the Tech Kingdom, hence the less than creative name. This class developed from the lower class, and it's the people who weren't able to manage in those conditions. This is where the most criminal activity takes place, but it's also where the rebels started from. The area is sketchy though. There's villages where people will steal parts from you.
- There's a purple substance referred to as "Blaze" that's popular within this class. It was originally created by the Royal Family, and it is a dark purple powder that people can get high on. It also causes hallucinations. Blaze is hard to obtain, but there's always just enough in this class for people to get hooked on it. It was purposefully created by the Royal Family so that they'd secretly have a way of keeping people buying their products by getting them addicted.
- People from here often end up disapearing. Anyone causing too much trouble goes missing. They're actually brought to the Queens lab where they're experimented on.
Economics:
- The Tech Kingdom is funded by selling some parts to other kingdoms, mainly made by the lower class (not that they're properly compensated for it). They also sell some of their gems that are mined in the Gem Caves. However, they don't sell anything too good to the other kingdoms, because they want to remain the most advanced. In fact, there's a shield around the castle which makes the castle look more worn down than it actually is. They want to keep other kingdoms in the dark about how advanced they really are.
The Crystal Caves:
- There's Gem Caves located in the Tech Kingdom that are secluded from everyone else. They're shut off to everyone except the Queens, and the Queens Guard. The children of the queens aren't even permitted access to it.
- The people there were referred to as "Gems". They lived in the caves. Gems had their own special gem that they were able to draw their power from. However, once they were discovered by the Tech Kingdom royalty they were subdued and enslaved. They're forced to mine the jewels that the royal family uses for their power. Gems that have attempted rebellion, or become injured during work, are used as part of the royals experiments in a lab that's deep within the castle.
Culture:
- In general, the Tech Kingdom isn't extremely harsh, but it's rigid and is a dictatorship. Even getting to be close to the royal family is seen as a privilege due to how elusive and secretive they are. People will rat each other out in an effort to gain favor with the royal family. People who don't fit the mold of what's expected are usually shunned.
- Getting to work for the royal family is seen as both an honor and a curse. Being a servant is seen as degrading here. However, being a member of the Queens Guard means getting to protect the royal family, and for some members, get to be let in on the inner-workings of the kingdom. Both the queens guard and servants are required wearing masks though if they look too human.
- Intelligence is highly valued within the Tech Kingdom That's why children are required to do a series of tests at a young age, which estimates their intelligence. At 18, people do another series of tests which determines the core traits they're likely to have (this is mainly to see who's most likely to rebel, or who'd be best suited as a guard. Think divergent).
Arts/Entertainment:
- There's not a lot to do in the Tech Kingdom in terms of arts and entertainment. The royal family hosts parties, but never in the main castle, and it's only for the upper-class to attend to. In the even lower class there's gambling and brothels that are very popular. One event that does happen yearly is that the Royal Family will introduce a new animal that they've created scientifically. It'll be shown to the public, and then put in the Royal Menagerie where animal species (and some human species) are kept. It's something that's available for everyone to access. Other than that, people are really just expected to entertain themselves somehow.
The Royal Menagerie:
- It's a collection of not just wild creatures that have been created by the Queens or found, but also of human species. There's an exhibit for "Gems", for Fae, etc. Which have living people just on display for the public. While the public has access to the Menagerie, it is in fact guarded a majority of the time.
Magic:
- Magic is looked down upon in the Tech Kingdom, but it's not entirely unused. People with powers originating from the kingdom are usually just highly intelligent, have magnetic power and the power of metal manipulation, or have the power of transforming their appearance. They do have dark magic influence in their kingdom, but not much.
- Most magic created by the Tech Kingdom is of a science base. Meaning, it's kind of corrupted. The royals believe they're capable of creating a science based magic that's destructive and powerful.
Fashion:
- Royalty is known for wearing clothing that's edgy, but elegant, with hints of militaristic styles to them. Most of their clothes is something easy to move in. Beauty isn't valued too highly in the Tech Kingdom, but it's still important to the Queens that their children look their best.
- The Upper-Class is known for it's value on fashion that shows their superiority, and is extremely over the top. They have a more sci-fi based clothing because they're more advanced. Their clothes are very much so like the Capitol from the Hunger Games.
- The Lower-class has a more steampunk influenced clothing. Their clothes are clothes that can be messed up. Primarily because of the work that they do in factories, or with mechanics.
- The Even Lower-Class has a street style of clothing, with punk influences. While a lot of clothing is worn down or torn, the colors are bright and clash with what the Upper-Class would consider beautiful.
- The kingdom colors are blues, silvers, and monochromatics.
