Maverick Flarmoux

Personality: He's incredibly manipulative and does tend to semi enjoy chaos. Very regal and sarcastic as well. Underneath everything, he isn't as bad as he makes himself out to be.
Strength's: very powerful with illusion magic and dark magic. Knowledgeable on almost all forms of magic. He's a fantastic liar.
Weaknesses: He doesn't have many people on his side. Most people hate him. He has no will to really live for anyone except Ivy and Sage, so it leads him to be wreckless at times.
Relationships: He's hated by a lot of people, even his parents. Friends with Ivy and Sage, really likes tormenting Karter, complicated relationship with Dawn.
Backstories: Well, he was never as good as his brother. His brother was preferred by both of his parents. The only reason his mother tolerated him was because of his interest in magic. She would use her magic to punish him, though. He wasn't close to any nobles at home. They mostly preferred his brother to him. One day, Maverick made a suggestion during a court meeting that perhaps things could change in the castle. Things could be better, nicer. His mother decided to publicly punish him for that. She moved him to the courtyard and began to whip him. To everyone's surprise, it was Ivy who jumped in. She saved him and took the punishment instead. They were inseparable from that moment on, much to his mother's hatred. They shared everything, sorrows, secrets, a kiss. They are each other's ride or die. After that mishap though, his mother said he could only redeem himself through taking over the light kingdom. If he couldn't do it, she'd take over herself.

Ivy Nightingale
Gender: Female (she/her)
Sexuality: Bisexual, leaning towards women
Personality: She's a pretty bitter person. She thinks life is cruel and dark and there's no hope for change. She's a pessimist. All ivy wants to do is survive everything with Maverick and Sage. That's it. She is extremely loyal once you've earned her loyalty. She tends to push people away a lot and doesn't like when people get too close to her.
Strength's: She's knowledgeable, she has light magic. She's good with enduring pain. She's also experienced with making potions.
Weaknesses: She's temperamental, can't control her powers fully, and she struggles with allowing herself to be vulnerable or care.
Relationships: Ride or die with Maverick, complicated relationship with Sage, weird past thing with Dylan? Doesn't like Drew or Karter really. Love/hate relationship with Rowan and Dawn. Hates Laverna and William, previously worked with Vienna and Nico.
Backstories: Ivy was sold to the dark kingdom by her mother. She doesn't know who her father is. She was actually from a noble family before being sold as a servant. Once she became a servant, everything was different. She was used in William's harem, and tortured almost daily. She thought she loved once. He was a noble. He said that he'd help her escape. She foolishly believed him. When she left the castle to meet him, she was immediately caught by guards. It'd all been a trick. Laverna had found out about it and that's why she calls ivy a wh*re. Ivy was going to be sent to William, but Maverick intervened. He didn't really know her at the time, but he claimed her as his servant. That's why she defended him when he was getting punished. She would die for him if it came down to it.
Other: she's a servant, sort of. She's not really treated like it. Her spirit animal would probably be a butterfly because they're beautiful but can be poisonous.

Mathias Flarmoux
Gender: Male (he/him)
Sexuality: Unlabeled
Personality: He's a himbo, but like a non great person one. He's the exact opposite of Maverick. He's more extroverted, can be loud, and he doesn't usually have any sort of gameplan.
Strength's: His magic, it's very destructive. He's actually surprisingly good at winning people over. He's physically very strong.
Weaknesses: He doesn't think his actions through. He leads with his heart rather than his head. He doesn't question his mother or his father's teachings.
Relationships: Obviously knows Maverick and Ivy. He most likely knows Sage too. He knows Nico and Vienna because they used to work there. He's become acquainted with the bar group. His closest thing to a friend is Tempest.
Backstories: Mathias grew up as the favorite child. His magic developed faster than Mavericks, and he was physically stronger. He was better at winning over the noble people of the dark kingdom than maverick was. His parents encouraged the competition between them which led to Mathias not having a great relationship with Maverick. Mathias didn't let himself make many genuine friendships because he didn't want to end up like his brother. Since his parents left, he was put in control of the dark kingdom.

Personality: He's arrogant and will only accept the best in life. He can't accept when someone is right besides him. He's slept with half of the castle, willing or unwilling. He's a fan of pretty things. Specifically, women. He would lock a woman up if he wanted her enough.
Strength's: he's relatively strong, and he's good at jousting.
Weaknesses: he's arrogant, and he's a human. He's Not the smartest out of everyone in the group.
Relationships: husband to Laverna, father of Maverick but they hate each other, also the father of Mathias, enemy of pretty much everyone.
Backstories: He and Laverna were put into an arranged marriage when they were kids. They have a symbiotic relationship. He lets her lead and he gets to screw around with who he wants. He's never loved her, and as far as he knows she's never loved him. Maverick was a mistake, and they let him know that a lot.
Other: he's abusive, and has a harem. His spirit animal is probably a magpie.

Personality: She's pretty cutthroat honestly. She doesn't care about her supposedly family. All she cares about is power. She wants to control the kingdoms, and she won't stop until she succeeds. She doesn't care about who she has to manipulate to get to the top of the food chain. She thinks love is stupid and it's a weakness. It's just something people can use against you.
Strength's: She's extremely powerful with dark magic and illusions.
Weaknesses: Um, she's evil? It does take a bit of energy to use so much magic at once. She is quite powerful though.
Relationships: Wife to William, mother of Maverick and Matthias, hated by pretty much everyone. She really hates Drew. Friend of Killian, Caspian, and Alixana. Karter is her favorite to mess with.
Backstories: When she was just a princess, she believed in love and fairytales. She believed in kindness. She was invited to hangout with the other princesses in the kingdom. She arrived and there they were. They waited until her carriage had left and then they got into their own carriages. They opened the door to her, but when she went to step in they laughed in her face. She walked the entire way home. Then when she finally married William she figured, maybe there was a chance that there could be real love there. Then she caught him sleeping with a noble girl. Her heart hardened and she didn't even notice the one person who did love her, her guard. She's been cold ever since and has been grabbing at power so she'll never feel as low as she did again.

Personality: When she's not around the royals, she's a bit more blunt and will speak her mind. She likes material things, and is often dressed up by William. She's confident in her looks. She's never had a real relationship, so she doesn't quite understand the concept of love or not being used by people.
Strength's: Her beauty gets her what she wants, usually. She can be quiet witty and quick on her feet.
Weaknesses: She's a human, and pretty much a toy if the king. She's not very strong. She longs for more than just a servant life.
Relationships: Personal toy of Williams, hated by Laverna, knows Maverick/Sage/Ivy, worked with Nico in the past, wants to be friends with Rowan.
Backstories: She was a noblewoman at court. William found her pretty and claimed her as his. She works in the brothel and she was used pretty much daily by different people. Honestly, she just needs some love in her life.
Other: She's technically still a noble but is being used as a personal servant. Her spirit animal would probably be a gazelle.

Personality: He's pretty evil. He's sadistic. He enjoys hearing people's screams and pushing them past his limits. When he's not torturing people he's sarcastic and blunt.
Strength's: He knows the weak spots of the body, he's strong and skilled in fighting and torturing.
Weaknesses: He can be impulsive, and gets a little too into his blood lust sometimes.
Relationships: Hated by most people, torturer of Laverna.
Backstories: His parents abandoned him when he was younger. He was never meant to be born according to them. The group that rescued him was a group of bandits. They were drunk half the time or angry. Theo learned how to avoid him quickly. Eventually he discovered his sadistic tendencies and began working for Laverna.
Other: He's a human. He has scars and tattoos on him. His spirit animal would probably be a piranha.

Gender: Female (she/her)
Sexuality: Unlabeled
Personality: She's a bit blunt, and very determined. She holds her cards close to her chest, and doesn't really trust anyone at all. Her time growing up in the Dark Kingdom has led her to not trusting anyone easily at all.
Strengths: She's a skilled fighter, and pickpocket. She has magical tattoos. She has a water tattoo on her left wrist, giving her water powers. She has a phoenix tattoo on her back, which she can use and control.
Weaknesses: She doesn't have any friends, really. She's trapped as a fighter in the Dark Kingdom, so she's weaker and malnourished. Her family is her biggest weakness, and strength.
Relationships: She's met Auburn, probably knows all of the dark kingdom people since she's been there awhile.
Backstories: Her family grew up poor, and as the eldest of her family she had to figure out some way to provide for them. She became good at pick-pocketing and stealing, but was eventually caught. She ended up becoming one of the arena fighters, and has been working to earn her freedom but hasn't been successful yet.
Other: She's probably going to end up joining one of the border town groups if she ever gets out.

Personality: She's blunt, and very bold. She doesn't beat around the bush, and is just a generally straightforward person. She doesn't warm up to people all that often.
Strengths: She's a skilled fighter and her main weapon is twin daggers, she's decently agile, and she's good at planning.
Weaknesses: She doesn't have a lot of allies, she kind of has a one-track mind, and she thinks with her fists a lot.
Relationships: Might know dark kingdom peeps or assassin/bounty peeps.
Backstories: Mercy was trained in the league of assassins. She also did bounty hunting when she got the chance though. She was hired to try assassinating King William, but she ended up failing. She was locked up in the Dark Kingdom prison. Recently though, she's escaped because of all the chaos between the light and dark kingdom.

Personality: She's very calm, and mostly laidback. She can be sensitive though. She thinks with her head over her heart.
Strengths: She can talk to the dead, she's technically a sort of necromancer, and she has okay standing in the dark kingdom.
Weaknesses: Her body isn't super strong since she's half dead, and she's insecure.

Backstories: When Emily was a teenager she ventured out into the Dark Forest even though she was specifically warned not to. She was attacked and her life force was messed with, causing her to die. She was revived, but wasn't the same as before. Thus leading to her necromancy powers and her being half dead.

Strengths: He's great with blood magic, good with potions, and he has a decent amount of wealth.
Weaknesses: He's not respected that much, he's greedy, and he's usually pale from blood loss.

Backstories: Damascus was brought in as an advisor to the Queen and King. His advice wasn't serving them well enough, so he was fired. He's a noble, but hasn't gained back his reputation. He mainly spends his time working on blood magic and potions in his chambers.

Personality: He's sarcastic, somewhat bitter to the world. He's not rude to people to their face, at least. He'll put on a show for the royals of support.

Weaknesses: He's sometimes harassed by guards, he doesn't really support the kingdom, and he doesn't have a lot of friends.

Backstories: Calix started out as a servant, and then advanced in his healing magic. Seeing as a lot of torture goes on, a healer is usually needed. He worked his way up to becoming a great healer, and tries to avoid doing unsavory things to keep his job.
