°°*°°

As I had promised my parents, I joined a few clubs my sophomore year. I joined the dance team, yearbook, and newspaper. Each club met on different days and finished at different times, but also helped me make more friends.

I usually sat at lunch with the dance team friends, as they were popular and it was always a dream of mine to become popular.

"So your boyfriend is in college?" My friend, Kayla, asked. I nodded. "When did you guys get together?"

"Last year," Diana answered for me. She also joined dance team so we could still have time together. "They already confessed their love for each other. It's why she's on the principal's good side. He's her son."

"You're dating the principal's son? Good blackmail." Kayla smirked.

"Actually, I'm dating him because I love him. I'm not dating him because of his status with this school. He's a great guy and really supportive. We hang out every weekend when I go to my dad's." I shrugged.

"You're fifteen, babe," Kayla said. "I doubt it's actual love."

I smiled softly. "You're in honors English but I doubt you got an A on the English paper." Then I stood up and walked away, Diana trailing behind. "She just can't shut her damn mouth."

"Well, she does sound right." I glared at Diana and she raised her arms in surrender. "Well, you are only fifteen."

"Romeo was however old and Juliet was thirteen, but of course it's perfectly fine for them to throw every thing away and not resolve their problems in a civil manner." I rolled my eyes. "They were stupid."

"Honey," Diana said, "you're only two years older than her. I think that makes you stupid too."

"I'd rather be stupid than not love him," I said.

"Honey, eventually it's not going to work out. I think in the end all he's going to be is a first love." There was a moment of silence between us, as we thought over the conversation. Then she said, "Wait. . . Juliet was thirteen and no one questions this?"
