Once again, a Spinel's Gang one shot that I'm pretty sure you guys are sick of looking at. This is something to do in the meantime while I figure out what to do about NovelHD (the site that stole 3 of my books, including 'Seize Her Heart'). I can't promise this peice of crap is gonna be any good but I CAN promise I put a lot of heart into it, and any feedback can help me plenty!

You probably already know but:

Spinel's Gang belongs to NamyGaga, not me, this is just a for-fun fanfiction. For better context, take a look at her Spinel's Gang stuff on YouTube and such, you know the drill.

Context on the One-Shot:

🔸Spinel and Spinel-IA is the main ship, slight mention of Volley

🔸Spinel-J and Spinel-EE are a couple, though it probably won't be relevant

🔸Spinel-IA is pregnant (if you say anything about her giving up her form, I'll find you)

🔸Spinel-IA has had 7 births: 2 of which were miscarriages, the third died (will be explained). In order of the oldest to youngest of the living children: Spade, Clover, Heart, and Diamond (newborn/who she's pregnant with). Yes, I purposely named them after cards.

🔸Spinel is dealing a war with the Dark Gems; so she's barely around

"Spinel-IA?"

"Spinel-IA?"

"Spinel-IA!"

"Huh?"

"Starlight, are you feeling well?"

A bed-ridden Spinel-IA sighed weakly and rubbed her eyes. She was well at most; she was just tired. She was 8 months pregnant, so this was a normal thing for her by now, especially since this was her 7th pregnancy. However at this point, it was getting more and more tiring.

"Yes, White. I'm just exhausted, you know?" She replies to White Diamond, who was sitting patiently beside her. She was always here during Spinel-IA's birth dates to witness the coming of another heir. It excited her greatly whenever the time came. She was like a grandma to the 3 living children that survived birth and lived through it; spoiling them, giving them candies and sweets from Earth (Which was a bad idea whenever Spinel-IA had to deal with them), and she was especially fond of the youngest, Heart.

The lustrous Diamond clapped gleefully and smiled. "Oh, I understand very much. What is this, baby number 4?" The pregnant gem nodded. "I can't wait to see what the little one looks like, although my best bet is she'll look more like you. "

"Heh, yeah." She agrees. "Spade is just about the only one that resembles Spinel. Clover has more of my skin tone and Heart...she's like a clone of me."

"I suppose it's safe to say you have very strong genes, Spinel-IA, which is a good thing." White replies happily. "Speaking of, what are you planning on naming this one?"

Going along with the pattern she went with her children, Spinel-IA gave her a gentle, "Diamond." which seemed to make White herself light up like an overly-decorated home during Christmas.

"Diamond!" She repeats with joy. "Oh, how wonderful! A fourth diamond! After decades, we'll finally be complete! It'll be like Pink is here once more." Spinel-IA, despite not understanding this, smiled respectfully. "My, Yellow and Blue will be most pleased. Even better, there's a 100% chance the baby will be pink, so we can easily call her Pink Diamond! Ah! I'm getting way too excited here. IA, would it be alright if we called baby Diamond that?"

She shrugged. Honestly, she didn't care what Diamond was called; it was Spinel they needed to ask. Spinel was very vague on her history with Pink Diamond, so when Spinel-IA asked that one time and only received a "She fooled me once and it ruined my life", she decided it was best to just leave the subject alone.

"You'll have to ask Spinny about it, I don't want her to get PTSD or anything. Bad enough she has to constantly fight war, which is something I could never do." Not only because she was scared to; but also because she has kids, after all, and didnt trust anyone else with them. Then, a hint of sadness washed over her face once she gained more thoughts on the war Spinel was fighting. She sighs miserably. "God, I miss her..."

'Miss her' was an understatement. She was beyond miserable. And lonely. Not just because Heart was constantly crying due to Spade teasing her, or the fact she had no one to pamper her whenever she was pregnant (though that was a BIG reason), but because well, Spinel was her life. Her love. Her other half. They were supposed to be together all the times, weren't they? Well, she shoulda known what she was getting into when she became the girlfriend of a ruler of Homeworld. Of course she'd be absent for war.

The real question was, when was it gonna end?

There was a small kick coming from the inside of Spinel-IA's stomache. She put her hand on it. "Don't worry, Diamond. It'll be your time to shine soon, I just hope your daddy will be around to see it."

Which didn't seem likely, now that she thought about it.

"Starlight." She had forgotten White was even there for a moment. "Wanna know something about that war?"

She nods.

"It's not really a war, if you look at it."

"Whaddya mean?"

White Diamond brushed it off as if it wasn't that concerning. "Oh, Starlight. There's no real fighting. It's just empty threats and trash talk at this point! Spinel isn't doing anything too important, and honestly, in my opinion, it's just a waste of time. They should put aside their petty insults and come back when there's actually gonna be bloodshed. She has no reason not to be here for you and those children."

'What...?'

To any other gem, this should've meant that their loved one was safe from any harm, that they'll be home in one peace, and they can be reunited as a family.

However, to Spinel-IA, that meant something on a whole other level.

And she didn't like it. Not one bit.

'She's out there with Pink Pearl...she's cheating on me..'

Did this sound rational? To her, yes. It also sounded horrible. But what else could be the explanation? Her lover was gone 99% of the time to fight a war that she just found out didn't need fighting! She always suspected Spinel had some leftover feelings for the bitch, but she never thought she'd have the guts to lie about a war just to be with Volley...

"Spinel-IA?"

She heard her, but was so pissed off at her own made-up thoughts, that she tuned the Diamond out. Because right now, she had a decision to make; which was more painful?

Her heartbreak, or her contractions?

"Oh, she's so adorable!!!"

"Hey, move outta the way! I can't see!"

"Momma, Spade is hogging up all the space!!!!"

"Awww, look at those precious little eyes!"

"What a darling!"

As expected, nearly everyone close to her arrived to welcome the newest addition to the spinel family. Diamond was born a healthy gem, fragile, and (as White predicted) looked to favor Spinel-IA's looks. It had the same baby pink skin color as Spinel-IA, with her hair in two adorable fuschia-colored curls. Her eyes were a beautiful magenta that sparkled more than the brightest stars in the sky. There were even thin spirals in them, which she got from Spinel. Her gem was placed on her naval, upside-down and shiny.

Spinel-J had already grown attached to the newborn, as did Spinel-EE: Spinel-IA had told them they could be her god-parents, to which they rejoiced to.

Spinel-E was making predictions that she'd be more spoiled than the sugar-starved Heart (the most spoiled of them all), given her name "Diamond". She would be proven right once Yellow and Blue got ahold of the child.

As for the other 3 children, it was safe to say Heart didn't take to kindly to the new arrival knowing the attention would no longer be on her. Clover was in over-protective sister mode and Spade? She couldn't care less that she had another sibling. She stopped caring once she realized the more younger siblings she had, the more ignored she'd be.

It was all good for that while, everyone gushing over how adorable Diamond was, and congratulating Spinel-IA once more. While everyone else was enjoying the special day, the mother of the hour wasn't all that joyous. She tried her best to force up a smile to hide her heartache from her loved ones. When really, Spinel laying up with Pink Pearl was haunting her mind like a ghost in mansion.

Spinel-J was gently bouncing the baby with an adoring smile on her face. "Aww, you're so adorable! Gosh, IA, you're so lucky to be so fertile."

With a sore smile, she replied, "Ehehe, I guess so." Really, she wanted to tell her how fucking wrong she was and how painful childbirth was. "Are you planning on having a baby sometime?"

"Oh, we're trying to. Apparently I'm not as good of a baby-maker as you and Spinel are." She says in a joking manner. "Speaking of, has she..."

"No." Spinel-IA responds bitterly, her smile now falling. "And she can stay there for all I care."

This sudden sourness shocked  quite a few of her visitors, and she realized quickly that she fucked up bigtime. But, honestly, she deserved to be mad, didn't she? She was probably being cheated on right now. The thought of Spinel kissing down Pink Pearl's neck, giving delicate kisses down her slender legs and thighs, and even sharing champagne kisses, was enough to make her wanna shatter every gem in her sight.

Not before crying her eyes out, of course.

"Spinel-IA, is everything ok between you and Spinel?" Spinel-E had asked her curiously with concern. She huffed at the question and turned away, and the Spinel Gang could see the red forming on her usually bright face.

Spinel-J whispered something to White Diamond, and she nodded silently. White announced, "Everyone! How about we leave our new mother alone with her child, hm?" She ushered, and everyone seemed to get the hint to leave. Clover and Heart got onto the palm of her hand, while Spade decided to take a ride on her shoulder. Soon, it was just the Spinel Gang and a tired baby Diamond resting peacefully in J's arms.

It was quiet for a moment or two. They were afraid to ask anymore questions, fearing it would upset her more. But, Spinel-E took up the courage to see what was wrong with their friend and her relationship with her lover.

"Is it because she's not here?" Spinel-E decided to start with.

Then, as if her eyes were a broken-down dam, Spinel-IA began to break down as tears started running down her pale cheeks. She tried to keep her whimpers as quiet as she could make them to not make a scene. She wipes them with her hand and finally explained.

"I-I think she's cheating on me!"

That most definitely wasn't the explanation they expected, and it showed. If anything, they thought it was purely because of her absence, or the children were stressing her out. Anything but getting cheated on.

"You think she's cheating on you?" Spinel-J asked in confusion just to make sure her hearing wasn't deceiving her.

Spinel-IA sniffled and more tears started dripping on the blanket. "Yes...it has to be the only reason she's been gone so long! White told me the truth, that it's not even a war she's fighting! She has plenty of time to be here and raise her brats!!" Once she heard Diamond squirm at her tone of voice, she settled down. "I...I knew she still had some sort of feelings leftover for that skinny, halfway blind bitch but...I-I didn't think she'd do this to me...actually, it explains why she's never proposed to me after all these years..."

It was true; one thing Spinel-IA looked forward to when being with Spinel was marriage. She wanted to be a bride, with poppies in her hand, in a beautiful dress, and walk down the isle to her true love. She's had multiple pregnancies already, she would think Spinel would at least get on one knee for her. But, like with many things having to do with her relationship, she was wrong.

"Spinel-IA, listen," Spinel-J began sympathetically. "I know you and Spinel haven't been on good terms but, I don't think she'd go as far as to cheat on you. You have 4 of her kids for Diamond's sake! If she does that then-"

"You can't rule it out, J! She's cheating on me, I can feel it! A-and to be honest...I've been suspecting it for a long time now..." Trying to stop her frustration from getting worse, she took a deep breath, but it barely did any good due to how stressed she was.

"But Spinel love you." Silent this whole time, Spinel-EE finally gave her opinion on the matter. "She never cheat on Spinel-IA."

However, no amount of persuasion could level down her anger and hatred she was feeling. It felt hopeless, like the whole world was drowning her in an inescapable darkness. She started to question what would happen if it really was true.

Would she have to be left alone forever? Assuming she ran off with Pink Pearl after all.

"If you've been suspecting this, why have you stayed? Not only this, but she isn't around for your family, she's a horrible girlfriend to you, she can't even propose to you. From what I can tell, you don't need to keep suffering the way you are. You should leave the relationship."

Psh, she most definitely wasn't the first one to say that.

"Unless..." what Spinel-E said next almost made her choke on air. "She won't let you leave?"

No answer.

Her tone of voice turned from concerned to stern in a matter of seconds. "IA, if she's beating you and wont let you leave, I promise to God I will get White so fast, Spinel won't know what fucking hit her."

Now that most definitely wasn't true. Spinel-IA had all the freedom to leave if she wanted to, Spinel wasn't that toxic. As for the beating part, she hadn't been hitting her or anything.

Not lately, anyway.

But that's besides the point-

"N-no, that's not why I haven't left..."

"Then why?"

She took another deep breath, wept her tears, and pondered on how she should answer such a question. "Because, guys, I love her."

She notices they were giving her looks of disapproval.

"I know it sounds crazy but...I do. Even if she doesn't love me back. The reason I fell in love in the first place was because of her personality and how fun she was to be with when she wasn't depressed. And now, we're a couple, not exactly married like I wished, but we're together. Every time she goes off, I always wonder when she'll tell me she's done going out and that she'll stay with me. Wonder when she'll ask me to marry her, when she'll spend more than 5 minutes with her kids..." Spinel-IA took a moment to bring herself together. "It's been years since we've had a moment that didn't involve me getting pregnant. But when she does come home...it's the best feeling I ever have...and it gives me a reminder of why I fell in love with her. And, it makes it feel like that maybe, just maybe, she loves me too."

"Even though I think she's cheating, it wouldn't be fair for me to leave her if she's innocent. And it wouldn't be fair to the kids either...so, I guess, the reason I stay is for her. For Spade. For Clover. For Heart. And now, for Diamond. I believe we can still be together whenever she comes home. When she does, I'll be ready for her with open arms."

"Spinel-IA?"

"Spinel...?"

There she was; the gem of the hour.

It was none other than the infamous Spinel herself standing in the doorway with her fist clenched, as if she was holding something precious inside. Her mouth was slightly agap and looked fairly surprised. At what? They couldn't decipher. But one thing was for sure: Her arrival was not expected.

Spinel-IA and Spinel held a staring contest for what seemed like ages before Spinel-J handed the baby back to her mother, which seemed to snap her out of her trance. Quietly, she spoke. "Spinel-J, Spinel-E, Spinel-EE...can you leave us alone for a moment?"

With a nod, the trio briefly gave one last look towards Spinel-IA, before leaving them be.

"Uh...hey." Spinel began.

"Hey." Spinel-IA says, though almost inaudible. She looked down at Diamond to avoid eye contact, and to also pray she doesn't see her tear marks. She hears footsteps coming towards her and gulps. Spinel sits beside her, awkwardly rubbing the back of her neck with nervousness. Neither of them knew how to feel. For Spinel, it was flattery of the speech given by IA, but also fear. For Spinel-IA, well, her emotions were all over the place, like a tornado running through her body.

"IA, listen, I-"

"No Spinel. I have something to say."

Spinel sighed. "Fine. Do your worst."

"Spinel, you know how much I hate it when you go out to 'war', don't you?" Spinel nodded. "Then you know how stressed out I've been, wondering if you're ok, if you'll ever be home. But, recently...I've started wondering if you even go to war, and if it's just an excuse."

Spinel furrowed her eyebrows at her. "Excuse? For what-?"

"To go sleep with Volley, you fuck."

Spinel was about to say something in her defense, but Spinel-IA stopped her in her tracks. "Don't even say anything, Spinel. I know you still like that slut, don't even lie! That war you claim you're going to? It's not even a war!! Dammit, Spinel, I've tried my best to be on my own, but it's hard knowing the gem you love the most is out there doing God knows what!" She instinctively started crying again. "Not only that, but I'm not even sure you love me anymore. Yeah, I know I've gained some weight because of the pregnancies, and yes, I know I'm not a perfect pearl like your precious Volley but..."

She trails off sadly, her voice cracking each syllable she managed to get out. She was crying so much she couldn't even speak anymore. Diamond would squeal whenever a teardrop hit her face, and try her best to hit it off. Spinel-IA tried her best to not look like the emotional crybaby she was. Honestly, she was starting to think Volley had nothing to do with it now; now, she was thinking Spinel left so she could get away from her petty tears.

"Spinel-IA, listen to me."

She had stopped whimpering for a moment upon hearing Spinel. Her voice was unusually calm.

"I don't know what White told you, but I really was out to war."

"Maybe, but it shouldn't even be called a war, i-it's just empty threats that you could've ignored, you could've left it alone..."

"Well...you're right. I could've put aside my differences with Black Pearl and Black Spinel, couldn't I? In a way, White was telling the truth. But I didn't wanna bail out too soon in case they actually launched an attack. If they decided to attack, I wanted to be there to fight back. Fortunately, it hasn't happened yet. And it doesn't look like it'll happen anytime soon. But, if they did, and something happened to you, I wouldn't forgive myself."

There was no response.

"As for Pink Pearl...I can't lie. I've been talking to her." She notices Spinel-IA's eyes slightly widening from heartbreak, so she quickly added, "But it was platonically! I promise. We didn't kiss, we didn't sleep together, we didn't do anything other than talk."

"But you admit, you still like her, don'cha?" Spinel-IA sniffled, shaking.

The conflicted gem took seconds to think about how to answer. Was this a trick question? If she said yes, there was a high chance she'd break down. If she said no, Spinel would probably be accused of lying. However she knew that Spinel-IA already didn't trust her, so telling the truth shouldn't hurt that much.

"I do." She replies calmly, looking down at the palm of her hand. "But,I only like her. You? I love. Even if I don't show it."

"I still don't believe you..."

"Hmph...well, I guess I'll make you believe me." 

The hell did she mean by that?

She would soon find out once Spinel got up from her spot and kneeled down, taking the item in her hand and putting it into plain view. It was a small, black box, made delicately from the finest Earth silk she had ever seen, if she'd ever seen any. Spinel slowly opened it, and Spinel-IA could hardly believe what she was seeing:

A ring.

A stainless, shiny, gold ring with a tiny pink diamond resting upon it.

After clearing her throat, Spinel took a deep breath and took hold of IA's hand. "I know this is long overdue but...I think it's best to do it now instead of making you wait any longer."

'I-is she...?' Spinel-IA could hardly believe this.

"Spinel-IA...will you be willing to start over with me, and be my bride?"

Then, as if those very words were water within a desert, Spinel-IA releases one of her hands from the now sleeping Diamond, and uses it to get ahold of Spinel's cheek to kiss her. It was like the kiss answered the question itself, and memories of the early stage of the relationship--the stage where they constantly cuddled and the moments were sweeter than sugar--started flooding back to her like a tsunami. It felt...amazing, to be there again. To enjoy those moments. And, hopefully, many more were to come.

Soon enough, they parted, and Spinel-IA was a blushing mess. Her tears were now drier than your mom, and she tenderly gave a, "Yes." to Spinel. "You know what would make me even happier?"

"What?"

"If you'd hold Diamond for once."

At first, Spinel didn't have a clue on who she was referring to. Her first thought was it had something to do with the Diamonds themselves. But then, it dawned upon her that Spinel-IA was referring to the newborn, and she also realized that she didn't even know the kid's name. Then again, she didn't know Spade or Clover's names until years later. Heart was a shot of luck.

Spinel-IA looked down at Diamond and gave her a gentle kiss on the cheek before handing her to Spinel. Obviously, Spinel had rarely held one of her kids. The only one she really held was Argine, who, unfortunately, wasn't present anymore. She wasn't even sure if she was holding Diamond correctly.

"Here," Spinel-IA instructed, helping her to hold the fragile gem properly. "You need to support her head, her neck is still weak, you know."

Damn, she sounded like a teacher.

Then again, she's been through this 7 times, of course she knew how to do things.

Even if only 4 of those 7 times were even worth it.

Diamond was as precious as they came. Her hands were so tiny, and her arms were just as small. She tried to curiously touch Spinel's famous tear marks, and her eyes shined with marvel once she succeed. She cooed, proud of herself, and Spinel smiled for once.

"Heh...hey, ya little troublemaker." She says jokingly, to which Diamond made a cute sound in return. "Didja make the birth easy for your mom?"

"I wish." Spinel-IA says to the side. Spinel laughs at her fiance's response and looks down at Diamond again.

And, for some reason, it made her sad. Nostalgic, even.

Somehow, when she looked at Diamond, she saw Argine.

She didn't remember when she last saw Argine before the incident. Maybe it was a month before it happened? She couldn't tell anymore, since it was so long ago. Besides, like the others, Argine was a momma's child, and was seen either with Spinel-IA (obviously) or Blue Diamond (for some reason those two had a tight bond). Although Argine had her love for Spinel, she never bothered to be around her, which the feeling was mutual.

Then the Diamonds sent a message to her that day, while she was preparing for the negotiation with Black Spinel, that Argine had wandered off into a waterfall and drowned. Although she hadn't showed much emotion (even coming off as insensitive), she still felt bad that it had happened.

Later that week, Argine's gem was drifted off in peace, and things slowly started getting back to normal. Spinel-IA stayed isolated to herself, not accepting any sort of comfort or pampering. Spinel hadn't stayed long enough to see what else had happened, but could imagine it wasn't too good. After all, an innocent baby had just died. No one expected it. No one planned for it. It just happened out of the blue on a normal day. Spinel-IA takes her eyes off of Argine for a second and bam, death.

But then, if it could happen to Argine...

Spade, Clover, Heart and Diamond could get shattered any given day.

And Spinel has barely spent a minute with them.

She looks down, now noticing Diamond was fast asleep by now. It was perfect, in a way.

"Huh? Where are you going?" Spinel-IA had asked Spinel once she gave the gemling back to IA, then getting up from her seat.

Then, in a respectable kind of way, Spinel glanced back at her one last time.

"I'm going to make up lost time while I can."

Yeah, I don't like this one shot, but this was all my teeny tiny brain could come up with, so please be gentle. A part of me thinks Seize Her Heart was better, mostly because there wasn't so much cringe and angst.

Anyhow, I gotta go get the Spanish version of this done at some point. Wish me luck
