Chapter Twenty Five

Swiveling back and forth in the black leather office chair, Taehyung stares at his boss as he continues to speak to the group without actually hearing a word. The only thing he's been able to think about since confessing this weekend was Ria. Her skin felt so soft and she smelled so sweet. The way she was so sensitive to every little touch from him and how much love was felt throughout their encounter was unlike anything he had ever experienced. And now that he had the honor of waking up next to her every morning, his thoughts are even more consumed with love.

Love.

His heart flutters at the word. The same way it fluttered and exploded at hearing that she was in love with him, too.

Victoria James, the girl he had called his best friend ever since he was a child was now his girlfriend and once again, he felt the desire to kiss her the moment he sees her after work. The clock glaring back at him on the wall behind where his boss stood could not tick any slower.

His mind drifts away once again as he reminisces of the first night he shared with her. The first night she gave herself completely to him and he gave himself to her. Her warm thighs wrapped around his waist and her hands on his bare skin as he sank himself into her. The sound of his name leaving her lips, no one else's, just his... Taehyung. He could almost hear her calling it out again... Taehyung...

"Taehyung! Earth to Taehyung!" His boss yells from the other end of the long conference table, snapping him out of his daydream, "Are you going to participate in this meeting today or just sit there with that irritating grin on your face?"

Looking around the room, he realizes that the entire team including the assistants were staring at him. All of the men looked confused while the women seemed to swoon over the look in his eyes and he figures it's simply because they're females. From being friends with Ria for so long, he quickly came to realize how strong the woman's intuition actually is.

Clearing his throat, he scoots a bit closer to the table and schools his features, "I'm sorry Mr. Whitmire, what was the question?"

Sighing out in frustration, his boss sits back in his seat and intertwines his fingers, "Do you have any ideas for the new hotel on Grand and Fillmore?"

"Right." Taehyung states as he pulls out his notes and quickly gets his thoughts together, "The owners said they want modern luxury so I'm thinking crisp lines, muted tones, and an overall design that's out of the ordinary. Something that will really catch the attention of potential guests."

Nodding his head, Mr. Whitmire sits up in his seat, "Do you have any sketches of what you're thinking?"

Thankfully Taehyung was damn good at his job and not one to usually slack off. He was able to back his ideas up or else he may have been in deep shit with his boss for having his head in the clouds today. Taking out the rough sketch of his idea, he passes it down the line of colleagues until it reaches the hands of his boss. Relaxing once again into his chair, he runs his hands through his hair and notices one of the older assistants he's known since he started working there giving him a wink. Smiling to himself, he already knows Mrs. Green, the lovable middle-aged woman who took him under her wing since day one, will be coming to question him later.

Staring at the sketch of a rather unusual building shape, Mr. Whitmire nods his head in approval before snapping a photo with his cell phone and sending the drawing back down the table once again, "Very good, Taehyung. I like the direction you're headed. I will show this to the client and see what they think and will keep you informed on their decision."

"Thank you, sir." Taehyung grins as they resume their meeting and he quietly sighs out, thankful that he was able to dodge a bullet. There's no way in hell that his boss who has been married and divorced twice already in the last two years of him working there would understand that he was daydreaming because he fell in love with his best friend and that he's still processing those feelings.

As soon as the meeting ends, Taehyung retreats to his office as he glances at the watch Ria and Izzy got him for Christmas and seeing that she should be getting off in about twenty minutes. After thinking about it during lunch, he really wanted to take her out on a real date before Izzy came back home and before New Year's Eve. Even though the holiday would be a night out that will surely be fun, he wanted to do something a bit more romantic with her. Just because she is his best friend turned lover, doesn't mean he should skip out on doing normal couple things with her. She deserved to be wined and dined.

Gathering his things together to get ready to go pick her up, he notices Mrs. Green walking into his office and he bashfully smiles, "Hi Mrs. Green. Heading home?"

"Yes, I am. What was taking up your thoughts back there?" She nods towards the conference room, "A young man doesn't smile like that for no reason."

Chuckling, he shakes his head and grabs his coat off of the rack as he turns off his office light and gestures for the older woman to walk with him towards the parking garage, "I, um, recently realized I am in love."

Smiling ear to ear, the middle-aged woman clutches her purse tightly with excitement, "Oh, Taehyung, that's wonderful news. I was wondering when our most eligible bachelor was going to settle down. Will we be able to meet this young lady?"

"Well," He scratches the back of his head as the elevator continues to travel down each story of the tall skyscraper, "you've already met her."

Mrs. Green's brow knits as she tries to think of any of the young ladies she's seen him talking to. Gasping, she smacks his shoulder playfully, "Chasity?!"

Taehyung's face scrunches up at the name of the young assistant in their office, "Oh God no. I mean, she's nice and all, but... no."

Laughing, Mrs. Green tries to think about it again as they step out in the parking garage and head towards their designated spots, "Victoria? Your best friend? That pretty young woman, Victoria?"

Nodding his head, he's unable to hold back his boxy grin, "That's the one."

"Oh, Taehyung! I'm so happy for you honey! I always thought that you two would make the cutest couple, but I didn't want to pester you about it."

"Thanks, Mrs. Green." He grins down at the woman walking beside him, "I want to take her on a date, but I don't know, it seems different with her. I'm not even sure what to do. I don't want to just do the bare minimum."

"That's because she's not just some girl you just met. She's special to you and you're already in love." She turns to him as she unlocks her car door, "The Mr. and I used to do all kinds of wonderful things together when we were younger. I'm sure you'll come up with something uniquely special for her."

"Thank you. I'll see you tomorrow." Taehyung opens her car door for her and shuts it, giving her a little wave as he watches her drive off safely before getting into his own vehicle to head across the street to pick his girl up from work. Plugging up his phone, he opens it up just to land on the search engine's home page when a glimmer of an idea flickers in his mind as he reads the screen.

Pulling up to the parking garage under the glass and stone edifice he had been glancing over to all day, he grins happily when he spots Ria talking with Jane by the elevators. Her smile was bright and her mood cheerful and he hoped that he had something to do with that because she damn sure was the reason for his joyful demeanor today.

Noticing his car, she says a few more words to her assistant before they part ways as Jane gives Taehyung a wink and a wave before walking out of his line of vision.

"Hey, baby." Ria exaggerates with a giggle at the pet name, making his smile spread even wider. It was adorable to him how bashful she would get with the cutesy things between them.

"Hey, baby." He repeats, sounding much more relaxed with the term as he leans over to kiss her like he had been yearning to do ever since he last saw her this morning.

His tongue parts her lips, deepening the kiss to sate the desire he's had ever since his lips left hers mere hours ago. As if she was his purpose for breathing, his heart filled with life once again.

"How was the rest of your day?" She asks with a smile slowly stretching her pink, plump lips as she presses her forehead to his.

"Better now that I'm back with you." He showcases that adorable boxy grin that always made her heart flutter, even if she never really knew why until recently.

Sitting back in his seat, he puts the car back into drive and starts to ease his way back onto the busy city street, "So, if I'm going to stay the week at your place, we should probably get some more food."

Scrunching her nose with a guilty smile, Ria nods her head, knowing her kitchen is looking much emptier than usual with her avoiding shopping before the holiday vacation back home, "We should probably pick you up some necessities to keep at my place now, too. Since I'm sure you'll be staying over more frequently."

Since Taehyung is no stranger to staying the night at her apartment, she highly doubts Izzy will pick up on him staying over more often since he had spent the night in the past anyway. Sometimes even a week at a time.

"You want me to keep my toothbrush at your place. Is that what you're telling me, Miss James?" He quirks his brow teasingly.

Nodding her head, she wraps her small hand around his as he continued to drive with his only his left, "Kim Taehyung, will you keep your toothbrush at my apartment? Permanently?"

"Permanently." He repeats the word, "Yes, Miss James, I will keep my toothbrush and whatever else you desire at your residence permanently." Smiling over at her, he grips onto her hand a little tighter when he sees the elated look in her eyes before turning his attention back to the road ahead. He had someone very precious with him after all and as a man, he felt it was his duty to keep her safe. Just as he always had.

Walking through the aisles of the supermarket closest to her apartment, Taehyung and Ria happily add things to the cart to get them through the week. With them not having Isabelle until Saturday and things having to go back to semi-normal once she arrives, they take advantage of the lingering touches and stolen kisses whenever they find the opportunity, loving the fact neither one of them are shy about physical affection. They also took advantage of grabbing all the junk food, alcohol, and other items a young twenty-four-year-old would like to have if they didn't have to constantly set a good example for the child in the home.

"Blue or Green?" His beautiful girlfriend asks holding up two toothbrushes for him while he grabs some more toothpaste across the aisle.

"Um, green." He points to the one in her left hand and she quickly throws it in the basket while they make their way over to the next aisle.

Shopping with Ria wasn't anything new. On many occasions, they would do their shopping together before parting ways to go to their own apartments or he would just accompany her and Izzy just for the hell of it. But this time, it did feel a little different knowing all of these things would be staying at her place.

As he watched her just be, he tried to force back his smile as he realizes how lucky he is to have her all to himself. The cute little way she would squint her eyes as she read a label or the way she always had to reach for things by standing on the tips of her toes seemed to make her look even more adorable in his eyes.

Wrapping his arms around her waist as she takes way too long to decide what kind of shampoo she wanted, he places his chin on her shoulder and turns to nuzzle into her neck to make her smile, "Where's that one shampoo that you used to get right after you had Isabelle?"

"Um," She searches with her eyes until they land on the pink bottle with white cursive writing, "is this the one you're thinking of?" She pops open the lid and holds it up to him, slightly squeezing it so he could smell.

He nods happily, but before he could confirm that it was the shampoo that brought back all of his nostalgia, a bit of the liquid squirts out of the bottle and lands on the tip of his nose making him flinch. Spinning her around to look at him, he wiggles his nose onto hers before she could protest, spreading the shampoo between them with a mischievous smile while she whines his name through a giggle.

Wiping off the sweet-smelling scent from their noses with his thumb, Ria looks up at him as if he was the only person in the world right now, "Do you find it weird at all that we really don't need to handle this relationship like a normal couple?"

Furrowing his brow, he tilts his head slightly before reaching over to grab the shampoo he prefers for himself, "What do you mean?"

"Like we don't have to guess what each other likes and doesn't like or ask what each other's favorite color is. I know what you do for a living and what kind of car you drive. I even know the pin to your debit card. It's like we skipped a step." She replies with a shrug, "Do you find that weird at all?"

Shaking his head, he kisses her forehead, "I don't find it weird and we didn't really skip it. We just did things our way. There's still plenty of things we'll learn about each other because there's a side of me you haven't really seen just like there's a side of you I haven't seen yet either." Thinking about his conversation with Mrs. Green earlier, he comes up with a good idea and reaches up to tuck some hair behind her ear, "Matter of fact, I'm going to go home after we drop off the groceries."

"What? Why?" She pouts cutely.

Chuckling as he leans down to kiss those smooth lips he adores, he turns to continue to push the cart over to the next aisle, "Because I need more clothes at your place and I would also like to take you out tonight. I'll be by to pick you up at six-thirty, okay?"

"Okay." She grins to herself, making Taehyung feel overjoyed to be able to put that heart-stopping smile back on her face.
