Return

Elrond watched as Erestor stared into the distance. He knew the elf was bonded but didn't know to who or when or even where. His Captain of the Guard, Sūrimívirnë seemed to be close to the troops he led and Erestor's confident. Elrond found this confusing. Galadriel assured him that it was alright. She requested Erestor's aid in orchestrating the building of something urgently. Elrond had agreed, as he was worried for Erestor and knew that a trip would make the councilor feel better. Elrond told him that he needed to leave tomorrow. Erestor left the next day with some of the guards that had been from Gondolin. He ignored the feeling of the bond, unsure why Glorfindel was feeling shock and awe. Erestor would be away for thirteen years before he would return to his new home and a surprise that would shock him.
Glorfindel watched as the waves were calm, sea sickness still plaguing him as he continued his journey back to the lands where he had died. He could tell that Erestor was blocking the bond. Honestly, he couldn't help but laugh at the irony of the situation. He was almost back to land, had been reborn, and was now under oath to protect Elrond, a descendant of one of  his friends. He soon saw the city that he would dock at. A Maia was to meet him there and help him explain everything to the person in charge.
The Maia ended up doing all the talking as the language had changed drastically since his death. The king of the Noldo was shocked by the way he kept eyeing the golden Elf.
"You say he truly is Lord Glorfindel of the House of the Golden Flower?" A disbelieving advisor said until he really studied the warrior lord before him.
"We will escort him to Rivendell." A few high ranking elves offered. The Noldo King nodded. He sent a sealed message with the elves. When they were out of sight and sound of the port city, the elves started to speak in the language of Gondolin. They asked their patriarch how he was doing, if he still had his memories, etc. Glorfindel smiled and answered the questions of the grandchildren of his house tell him about the history he had missed. Glorfindel was shocked by all of the bloodshed and the mistrust between all races.
They did not stop on their way to the beautiful Rivendell. People stared at him in shock as the party that escorted him here dismounted after he did. The leader of the group of guards gave Elrond the sealed message after they had exchanged the traditional greetings. Glorfindel simply looked around, recognizing many of the faces.
Sūrimívirnë had waited until the exchange was done before practically launching himself at his lord. Glorfindel laughed as Sūrimívirnë tripped over a rock and fell into his lord's arms, thanking the valor and started to tell him about his bonded. After several minutes, Elrond cleared his throat to gain the strange elf's attention. He ended up giving the reborn lord a room across from Erestor. Glorfindel didn't know that though.
