Pain
A/N: My loyal companion passed away while I was out of State. I'll never forget her.
Glorfindel was in severe pain. Healers had Put him in a padded wagon. He felt a hand going through his hair. A part of his brain knew who it was, but he was unsure if it was friend or foe. All he could do at the moment was continue to block the bond. The hand stopped going through his hair and placed the opening of something against his lips. He didn't drink from it but the mysterious person was persistent. He drank it and felt relief soon.
*****Golden Flower*****
Erestor fretted and checked bandages every single moment. He was not going to loose his fated one once more! He wept as he carded his hands through the thick golden locks. He wondered why he could not feel his beloved's pain.
Suddenly, the bond was flooded with pain. It was blocked just as suddenly. He uncapped the poppyseed tea and held it to Glorfindel's lips gently.
"It's alright, Glorfindel. It's me, Erestor. Here's something to help your pain." Erestor was gentle but persistent. He sighed in relief when Glorfindel drank it, going back to petting the golden hair and kissing his husband's brow. The bond opened and would remain open.
"You're doing so well. Shh, I know you're in pain. Oh, Erü! What do I do?" Erestor started weeping again as Glorfindel's pain ebbed away. Erestor was at a loss of what to do. He could do nothing to help his ball of sunshine. Glorfindel was always the one to help Erestor. Now it was Erestor that felt lost, no shining sun to light the correct path. He remembered something he had heard Glorfindel say back in Gondolin.
"No matter how hard it gets and no matter how different the path we take, I will always return to you." A passionate statement came from Glorfindel. He was sitting in a field of flowers of all kinds. He had been luminescent with happiness. Erestor felt his worries dissipate. Glorfindel finished a flower crown and placed it on Erestor's head.
"I can't wear this! I'll look like a fool!" Erestor shrieked. Glorfindel laughed. His laughter and happiness was contagious. Erestor felt a smile forming.
"You look amazing. I swear to you that even the Valar wear flower crowns. If I ever get the chance to make one for Mandos, then I will do so!"
Erestor smiled at the memory. He dried his tears and decided to try to behave as a representative of Glorfindel's house. Erestor's pain, from being helpless, melted away like Glorfindel had just helped him again.
