I never believed men could wear a halo

never believed in the power of a say-so

but somehow, against all these humanly bounded odds

I came face to face with two of the Gods

I had not even attempted a search

yet here I am, bounded inside their church

I would never guess if they were Greek or Roman

but their presence alone was enough of an omen

I was not worthy to be at the foot of their throne

let alone to hear their loving moan

I am rotten, repulsive and so incredibly plain

what were these two trying to gain?

open me up, cut me, and toss me aside

use me, I don't care, not even if you lied

I am blessed enough by having witnessed your love

for each other, so holy, so innocent as the dove

so if I could have one simple request

please do not hold me close to your chest

your beating hearts I cannot endure

to me it is nothing than an irresistible lure

I am nothing, I am man

I am a piece in your game plan

hold me at arm's length for I am in love

with two of the Gods that came from above
