(Kick 46)
Kick Forty Six: Where is he?
Previously on FPG:
Natsu cringed, "I will do as you ask, but if you hurt my sunshine, I will burn you to a pile of ashes."
"And how are you gonna do that?" He smiled, lighting a cigar in his mouth. "You're locked up in chains and still trying to fight. Pathetic!"
He chuckled, his eyes widening sadistically. He was proud of his work, knocking out the Dragneel boy, and sending a demon in his place. Marvelous. Afterall, he was the king. The King of Tartarus.

He was drained, his wrists were worn, and his whole body was slumped across the wall. His shirt was torn so much it was as if he was just wearing strings. He was bloodied, and bruised, but worst of all. He had lost all hope of seeing his beautiful girl.
The one he'd stay up with at night to watch the stars in his dad's pickup, the one he'd had countless picnics with, hell, the one he would wake up early for in the morning before school. And to think of how grown up she'd look, how mature she'd be by now made Natsu sad. He missed it.
Natsu's eyes watered, his eyes shown dark with sleepless nights, and his hair black with dust and debris.
That's when he looked to his knee, the knee he knew to have a paper clip, and a nail file.
He was going to get out of here, and if not, he'd die trying. Because it's worth every minute to see Lucy, even if just for a millisecond.
~Lucy's POV~
(It's been a while since i've written first person, forgive me if i'm a tad rusty💙)
My hands scaled over the numerous photos in my scrap book. My eyes fluttered. Something here wasn't right. I couldn't pinpoint it. My head was whirling with possibilities, more impossible than the next. But then again, if Natsu were to survive that attack, I suppose several things were up for debate now.
I sighed, closing the scrapbook. My hand rested on my chin, biting my lip.
It just made no sense. Since Natsu got back, he hasn't been acting normal, then again, it could be because of the blunt trauma that occurred in the war. But at the same time, he hasn't been able to pronounce many things right, and there's something missing. His scarf, the one he always wore. But where in the bloody hell could it have gone.
Most importantly, why doesn't he remember the day he left to go to war, the time when him and I had to say goodbye.
It baffled me, I was thoroughly confused, so, I went to Wendy and Zeref.
I knocked on the door, waiting for someone to open it. Wendy and Zeref both came, peeking their heads out.
"Hey Lu!" Wendy grinned, opening the door wide.
"Hey." I said sadly, walking in the door.
"What's up?" Zeref questioned, the door closing behind him.
"Natsu's been acting weird, and I just can't help but think it's not him. Call me crazy, but he doesn't have his scarf, and knowing him, he wouldn't rest until he found it." I but my lip, nervous to see what they were going to say.
Was I crazy? Maybe I also hit my head? Who knows.
"Lucy, it's okay to think that way. You were waiting for him for over a year. I promise, he's just baffled after that explosion." Zeref explained.
"Wha..." Wendy looked confused at Zeref, looking for something. "Oh... yeah, maybe he just has some type of memory loss. It'll get back to normal soon."
My head started to spin. Did they know something? Was I missing it? Did they think something was wrong too?
"Okay," I sighed, "Maybe you're right."
I walked out the door, getting in my car and driving home. I rested my head against my arm. Something wasn't right. I decided I needed a detour, so, I went to the one place where I could think.
The football field. I sat in the stands, watching the high schoolers tackle each other.
Everything was so different from when it was in high school. This was my first time back here after what happened with Lisanna. I can't help thinking she could have been saved. But that doesn't matter now, does it...
After a while, I called Mira, explaining my concerns to her, she came to the football field, sat next me and we started talking.
"Why do you think it's not him?"
"His scarf."
I took a deep breath. "Mira, he would be looking for that thing everywhere. But he's not. And that makes me think..."
"He's not Natsu." Mira finished.
"Yeah..."
"Well, you know what that means," Mira smirked, "It's time to put Natsu to the test."
