Kick Twenty Eight: Battle Grounds

Lucy then got an idea and snapped her fingers, "We can meet halfway, you two drive an hour, and us three drive an hour!"

Juvia then also followed suit, "And, we can sneak you into our dorms for sleepovers on the weekends!"

That's when the whole group erupted in laughter, "This will definitely work,"

Natsu breathed out, smacking Gajeel and Gray's backs. All of them had just overcome training. They walk together to the cafeteria, sliding the tray along the metal bars. Gray and Gajeel cringed, watching as lunch ladies sloshed food onto their trays. Natsu didn't even care about how disgusting the food was, he had more things to worry about.

Natsu, Gray, and Gajeel sat down at a table, waving to their new friends. "Hey guys, still thinking about em'?"

Gajeel nodded, not saying a word as his fork dove into his mystery meat, his face twisted once he heard the squishy, splashy noises from his food. "Don't you guys have girls at home?"

"Yeah, her name is Yukino," Sting said, "She has short silver hair, bright blue eyes, and she's just so gentle with everyone."

"Rogue?" Gajeel spoke up, asking Rogue if he had one.

"Yep, Kagura. Kagura has long black hair, and she fights with a redheaded chick in a dogo every now and then. Sometimes she fights in hand to hand combat with a blonde chick too." Rogue explained.

The three guys dropped their forks, eyeing Rogue. "Does the redhead need help in anger management?"

"Yeah, I'd say she does," Rogue stretched, "She's always carryin' around a strawberry cake too."

Gajeel, Gray, and Natsu looked to each other, nodding, "That's Erza."

Then Natsu stopped, "D-Did you say your girlfriend fights in hand to hand combat with a blonde chick?"

"Yeah, what about it?" Rogue asked, starting to get tired of the questions.

"Does the blonde happen to go by Lucy?"

"Lucy Heartfilia?" Rogue closed his eyes, then sighed, "If that princess ever fought a battle and won against anyone, I'd be surprised,"

Natsu's jaw clenched the minute the words left his mouth, Sting gawked at Rogue. Gray and Gajeel's eyes widened, quietly praying for Rogue's soul.

"Don't talk about my princess-" Natsu stopped himself, his eyes darkening, "Don't talk about Lucy that way, unless you want an early death,"

"Lucy isn't anything like that, she doesn't act like a princess!" Gray added, "She cares about everyone deeply, she had been kidnapped, and was heartbroken when she heard we were leaving."

"Don't act like you know bunny girl!" Gajeel barked.

"Kay, guys, calm down. Rogue, you shouldn't have said that," Sting shook his head, giving the pinkette an apologizing glance.

"Remember, we're all family here!" A random voice yells, making Gajeel, Gray, and Natsu growl.

"I'm sorry about that you guys," Sting pulls Rogue from the table as they parade out of the cafeteria.

Meanwhile, Natsu gripped his fork, sending plastic pieces all over the table. "God damn it, I miss her so god damn much."

"I know," Gray slams his hand into Natsu's back, throwing his tray in the trash.

Natsu tossed his in the trash, walking out of the cafteria. Once he walked out of the cafeteria, he made his way to the mailbox. He opened his dessignated one, finding a letter. He pulls it out, reading the letter, the letter, from Lucy.

Natsu sits on the ground, reading her letter, a tear cascading down his cheek. Even after he broke up with her, she still wrote him letters.

Natsu's eyes burned, his pupils dialating. He shoved the paper into his uniform, and walks to his cabin. Natsu lays on his bunker, his eyes on the ceiling.

A knock sounded, Natsu shouting a simple 'Come in'. Gray rushed in, Gajeel beside him. "Natsu, most of our camp, they've been taken out. The only people left, say we have to move to another camp, and even when we move, we're running right into war."

Natsu's eyes widened, "Let's get moving then,"
