Natsu's eyes widened as police ran into the room, shooting Lisanna and Dan. The whole room crowded with red and blue flashing lights. This was their chance. Natsu; with the help of Levy, ran to the control panel.
"Which one do we press?" Natsu asked, looking between the various glowing buttons.
Levy's eyes widened, looking at all the buttons they could press. Her eyes scanned over the small words, telling what operations the button does. Levy's eyes froze when she saw a button named release.
"Laxus, Natsu, get into the big room. I found the button." With that said, both boys ran through the rooms, kicking down each door as they ran to the biggest room in the building.
Eventually, the boys got into the biggest room, the one with Lucy and Mira in it. They ran to where the girls were, looking up to see Levy clicking the button. At that moment, the two chains released, dropping the two girls from the ceiling.
Natsu and Laxus caught the girls, bending down slowly as they held them in their arms.
"Lucy?!"
"Mira!?"
The boys eyes scanned their girlfriends faces looking for any sign that the girls could give them, but there was none. Natsu and Laxus looked to each other, tears running down from both of their faces. They both nodded, standing up and sprinting.
They ran and ran, faster than any person could, all for the sake of their girls health. Once they made it, they ran in shouting, "PLEASE SOMEBODY SAVE THEM!"
Nurses and doctor's galore ran to the males, scooping the female's from their grasps onto a bed. Laxus and Natsu watched as their beloved's were rolled away down a hospital corridor.
All that was going through their minds was "Will they be okay?"
Silence. All they could here was a deafening void. The girls were confused. But alas, they weren't alone. In this dark state, both were together, both were crying to their hearts content as they watched their friends in agony. Lucy and Mira sat there in each other's arms, watching as Natsu and Laxus cried.
"How did this all happen?" Lucy asked Mira, "The last thing I remember is being at the football game, coming out of the restroom."
Mira looked at Lucy, smiling sadly, "It's alright Lucy. The last thing I remember is running into a dark dusty hole."
They both enveloped each other in a hug, tears rolling off their cheeks to the floor below. How could this happen in such little time?
Lucy sat up, pushing Mira away lightly, looking into her eyes, only to say, "Mira, we've come a long way. There isn't a reason in the world that we should have to stop going,"
Mira smiled at her friend, "It's amazing how positive you can be in a situation like this. But, nonetheless, you are correct, we gotta keep on moving forward."
That's when their world became brighter, and both girls looked to the gold sky with the flying birds ahead, both holding hands. The smiled, watching as the golden sky faded, and it became a distant memory.
Lucy rubbed her eyes, coughing slightly as she looked around. "Where am I?"
Her voice came out quiet and slow as she sat up. Her vision was blurry, and her hair not so straight, but it was okay. She look to the bed residing next to her. There she was. Mira.
Mira mirroring her actions as both smiled, repeating the same phrase, "We're back."
As the girls smiled, the door burst open, revealing two males. Both were crying hysterically at the sight of the girls. The girls eyes became watery as the boys lept onto their beds, hugging them gently.
"Lucy," Natsu cried, holding Lucy's frame tightly.
"Natsu, I'm okay. I'm here now." Lucy smiled through her tears hugging him back.
The world seemed bright again. Lucy seemed to think so at least, Mira right along with her. Time is a things that comes and goes, that goes slower but races faster. But, both of them knew, with each other, their world would always be bright.
