Picking the Inuyasha up in his arms. The lord wrapped his haori around the shivering hanyou before heading towards the burning Palace.  “Sesshomaru! Why are we going back to the castle?” Inuyasha asked, confused.  “You will find out soon” the reply came.

 In the castle hall, a mass of Southern and Western guards were fighting like warriors. Tables and chairs were overturned. Kitchenware and silverware were turned into shields and weapons.  Covered in blood and wounds and unhealed scabs, soldiers kept fighting. Waiting until one side would fall.

Suddenly, the doors fell to the ground with a thud. The fighting came to a halt. No one dared to breathe.  All eyes turned to focus on the figure in the doorway.

Moving from the shadows the daiyokai lord truly looked the part of a romantic nightmare. Smeared with blood, Sesshomaru stepped into the dim light, his normal cold golden eyes, furious purple, markings slightly jagged on his pale cheeks. His white kimono flecked with crimson spots, and the hanyou who was held protectively to the Daiyokai’s chest.

 Golden eys scanned the room. “Your leader is dead” Sesshomaru’svoice boomed throughout the hall. A wave of gasps swept through the crowd of soldiers. A Southern solider stepped forward, “Lord Akako is dead you say” the soldier’s voice was cold and hard. “Don’t think this battle is over because it’s not” the solider snarled.

Sesshomaru narrowed his eyes. His hold on Inuyasha tightened. As the solider elevated his sword

“We will kill you with no mercy! For Lord Akako!” Then the fighting started again.
