A couple Weeks Later..

"Huh" Mikasa breathed out in interest over what she was reading.

"Huh?" Levi breathed out in question as he glanced up from his paperwork to where she sat on his sofa within his office, reading the newspaper.

"Hmm" Mikasa happily hummed back.

"What are you reading?" Levi finally asked, placing the document down in his completed pile and stealing another glance towards her before picking up the next bit of paperwork needing his acceptance over.

"The religious page of the newspaper" Mikasa answered casually like it wasn't that much of a bid deal.

"Why are you reading the religious page?" Levi asked with a judgmental look, lowering the big of paper he was reading and just staring at her like she just spilled his cup of tea.

"It gives you a lot of information over the wall lovers plans for the week. Says where they'll stand to sing or preach and I use such intel to avoid them like the plague" Mikasa explained her reasoning and shuffling a little on the sofa, pulling her leg up.

"Damn, why didn't I think of that? Are they gonna be near my tea shop on Saturday?" Levi mumbled back, not believing he didn't think over such a great tactic before. He would have skipped dealing with walls lovers everyday. Deciding to ask if they'd be near his teashop since he had to go out and buy some more tea leafs at the weekend.

"Nope, that area was done last week. This week they'd be close to Petra father house area and where Jean mama lives. They're near the centre of the towns, thankfully for us" Mikasa answered with ease and warning him over the areas to avoid instead.

"Do you always check for their plans over the week?" Levi asked, raising an questionable eyebrow towards. Wondering just how much time she wasted on the religion page just to avoid them all.

"Of course. Even if I don't have leave planned. I always check so if I'm sent on a mission in town or something than I could still avoid them. I'll also try to be in the area three hours before they plan to be or two hours after they've been" Mikasa  mumbled back with a light shrug, her eyes reading a different article in the newspaper while Levi went back to reading his paperwork.

"Why the time difference?" Levi asked without much thought, getting distracted with his work but rather content to keep the conversation flowing.

"Because they always arrive earlier than said and they always stay an extra hour. It's like they trick anyone else who tries hiding away from them" Mikasa replied, not minding over warning him over the tricks used by the wall lovers. She wouldn't wish such torture over being cornered by the wall lovers by anyone.

"You don't want to hear them preach over the walls?" Levi asked with a sly smirk, poking his eyes over the to top of the paper and looking at her amused.

"As much as you'd love to be stuck listening to them too" Mikasa shot back with her own evil smirk.

"Cute. So, what had you so fascinated before?" Levi huffed back as he rolled his eyes before getting back to what had caught her attention first over the religion page.

"Sons are seen as a blessing due to so many families needing heirs back in the day. Well, some still prefer sons over daughters. And it seems that many use to pray for a son over a daughter" Mikasa muttered back lazily as she started to curl up on the sofa a little, making herself even more comfortable on his sofa without any care.

"And?" Levi replied with a raised eyebrow, not seeing what was so interested over it.

"Well, apparently those families who are born from daughter after daughter and will only give birth to a daughter are seen to be blessed by god. Seems those who come from a women only born family, of course only on their mother side" Mikasa explained what had caught her attention and resting the newspaper over her thighs while she turn her head to look at him.

"Blessed by god? I thought people wanted sons not daughters" Levi scoffed back as he rolled his eyes, signing the bit of paperwork in his hands before adding it to the completed pile.

"Apparently those who didn't pray for a son was blessed by god to have only daughters. Women are the givers of life. God gives life and takes them, so god blessed those families with the blessing to give life themselves" Mikasa explained as she rested her arm over the back of the sofa before resting her cheek against her arm.

"Ah, so if you're family has only ever been known to give birth to daughters than it's a sign you were blessed by god" Levi shortened down with an understanding nod and seeing why it might have caught a person attention in the newspaper. Everyone wanted to be a god at some point and such an article would make certain families feel as if they were blessed by god.

"That's what it says" Mikasa sighed, rather content watching him work on his paperwork. Enjoying the fact their his right eyebrow twitched ever so slightly when he's concentrating or finding a bit within the document that he didn't like.

"What happens if you're only blessed with sons. You're whole bloodline in blessed with nothing but sons on your father side. What does that mean?" Levi mumbled back, letting his curious side take over and wondering if only sons families would see themselves as cursed.

"Apparently it's also a blessing from god. Those who are given nothing but sons are blessed with carrying the seed of life - don't laugh" Mikasa admitted as she glanced towards the newspaper feeling a bit embarrassed before scolding him as a laugh broke free from his tight lined lips.

"Sorry. It just sounds like a dirty and god awful way to explain sex to a child. Carry on, I'll bite back my amusement for now" Levi smirked back, hiding his face behind his paperwork in hand and trying his best not to laugh over all the bullshit coming from the religious page.

"It says that someone in your family, in the past would have prayed for nothing but daughters. Praying for daughters in hopes that they would not have to force their son to walk the path of man. Being an heir and growing to be a fine man wasn't always what parents wanted their child to go through. So, in this chance, God blessed such families with sons. Not as a punishment but as a reminder that not all men must walk the path of man. In fact, their sons will be the carrier of seeds that will one day bring life by those who give life" Mikasa read out the bit of the article over having a only son family. Sending a warning look towards him when she heard him snort and chuckle over it a little.

"God! People believe such bullshit. This is hilarious" Levi barked out a laugh, leaning back in his chair and no longer able to focus on his work.

"Some do believe such a story. Believing that they have been blessed by god and there are families out their with a female only bloodline or male only bloodline" Mikasa calmly replied as she did find it a bit amusing but knew that some truly believed in being blessed by the gods like this. She found it a bit .. sweet sometimes.

"What happens if an only female family get's together with an only male bloodline. What gender will their child be .. a dickless son" Levi cockily grinned, rather enjoying himself and imaging how the whole single child would play out between them.

"Levi!" Mikasa scolded back, shaking her head over his humour.

"Sorry, I'm just having a bit of fun over this" Levi mumbled back, a shit eating grin on his lips as he shook his head.

"You're just being silly now" Mikasa commented, hiding her amused smile behind the newspaper.

"True but I do wanna know how god is going to chose over the daughter or son thing. I mean, he can't suddenly-" Levi started to mumbled out with a sly smirk before being stopped by Mikasa speaking over him.

"Stop it" Mikasa huffed back, picking up one of the pillows and throwing it at him.

"I'm just saying" Levi argued back in his defence, catching the pillow just before it went over his head.

"Well stop saying" Mikasa replied, holding back her laugh.

"Fine" Levi sighed in defeat, acting a bit childish.

"Thank you. Now, get back to your paperwork" Mikasa ordered back like a stern parent making Levi roll his eyes.

"Do you believe in that bullshit .. or god?" Levi seriously asked, throwing the pillow back at her.

"I think there is a god but not in the way other's speak over him. I think he hold power but not in the sense to give or take life so easily. I think he gives us strength when we need it most and he also stands as someone for us to blame when we can't live with the guilt anymore. I say that god is powerful but not in the way we all think he is. I say he's a living thought that holds power but holds no physical form. He's someone we either love or hate and either option we pick, he's apart of our life somehow" Mikasa answered honestly, a shy look on her face and she caught the pillow with ease before placing it back down in it's rightful spot on the sofa. Sitting up a bit better and putting her legs over the edge, placing her feet on the ground.

"I never thought over it like that. It's rather .. nice" Levi carefully replied, thinking over her words and rather liking her view over god.

"While we're simply human. I'd say he's simply the faith we hold, a faith we've formed into someone" Mikasa smiled back sweetly, folding the newspaper and placing it down on the coffee table.

"Stop sounding so wise otherwise I might start praying to the walls too" Levi shot back, leaning back in his chair and staring up the ceiling.

"If you do that than I'll feed you to a titan myself" Mikasa promised without skipping a beat and hearing him snort.

"That's the nicest thing anyone could say to me" Levi playfully cried, pretending to wipe away a meaningful tear.

"You welcome" Mikasa happily smiled.

"Hang on" Levi spoke up, lifting an eyebrow as he took notice of something.

"Yes, Levi" Mikasa asked, lifting an eyebrow towards him.

"Why are you in my office and lazing about on the sofa as if this was your own office" Levi came his reply as he noticing his relaxed she had gotten in his office instead of seeming stressed over completing her duties like most soldiers do.

"Are you going to try and kick me out?" Mikasa asked unimpressed and lazing down on the sofa to be stubborn.

"No but shouldn't you be doing something else instead of lazing in my office reading the newspaper" Levi argued back lightly. Giving up years ago over trying to kick her out of his office since he knew it was a losing battle.

"I am doing something" Mikasa stated, a bit insulted over his view on her simply lazing about like a jobless bum.

"And that is?" Levi asked, looking forward to seeing how she'd wiggle out of this.

"Resting on your sofa while reading the newspaper" Mikasa grinned back, wiggling her eyebrows and feeling rather proud over herself.

"Whose being silly now?" Levi accused back, throwing one of his pencils towards her as she laughed.

"Yeah but I'm younger so it's cute when I do it" Mikasa cheekily responded as she fluttered her eyelashes towards him.

"Tsk, you ain't cute. I've seen you send men twice your size over" Levi scoffed back, knowing that she needed to be feared instead of seen as a cute puppy.

Another Question for all my lovely readers...

I know this book is getting a bit long and after a few chapters, I'm planning to do a bit of an age skip in this book.

Do you guys want me to split this story into two books, so the second book starts with the age skip or keep this all as one long book?

Please comment below over your thoughts and let me know what you prefer..
