-26-
I went to buy a new identity
For I had lost mine—
Traverse through aisles
Hanged silks so fine—
Threaded colours, signs,
Patterns and line—
Softly felt in tone,
Though, it felt too bright—
Brush my hand over like a breeze
Skimming shades of ocean blue
Giving away to woollen sleeves.
Venturing deeper— down
In hopes of striking gold
I freed its shoulders from its hanger
And wore it—
Faux leather draped silver zipper
It fit me like a home.
