Chapter6:Theories,Cont'

Isn’t this why you came? To be with her again?”

Who is the "her" in this statement? Why, William's daughter, of course! He's returned to the facility in an attempt to find her after she was kidnapped/swallowed by Baby. This statement would only make sense if the player is William.

There's another sound clip that plays when Ennard starts using William's daughter's voice:

“You’re always working/wanting/waiting to be with me again.”

This provides further evidence to support not only the previous statement, but also begs the question—why would Ennard use the girl's voice unless the player is William? Surely this specific girl's voice would only be effective on one man—William himself.

But What About the Plot Holes?!

Of course, with every theory, especially one developed so soon after a game's release, there are bound to be issues, plot holes, the like. After all, how are we to know Scott's true intention behind every little detail in the game? So much of the Five Nights at Freddy's series is left up to the interpretation of the player due to its subtlety and vague allusions... will we ever know for sure what Scott intends for us to take away from the game?

For instance, if you're really William Afton over the course of Sister Location, why don't the animatronics recognize you? And delving even deeper into the repercussions behind you being William Afton (as well as The Purple Guy), what would have prompted The Purple Guy to hide inside the Spring Bonnie suit after murdering the children? Could an animatronic like Ennard actually be spooked? And why would he bleed upon being torn apart by the spring mechanisms?Perhaps these questions will be answered at a later time... and perhaps not. Perhaps we're never meant to know the full story. Perhaps, even, there are inconsistencies in the games themselves—after all, could Scott really have had all these new plot points and backstories in mind when he was making the first Five Nights at Freddy's games?Nevertheless, it's quite fun to speculate and hypothesize over what everything in Sister Location could mean, and fans will surely keep doing so until Scott reveals more information (if he ever does). Personally, I'm not quite sure what theories I believe to be true. A part of me is fascinated by The Purple Guy actually being an animatronic inside a human suit, but another part of me likes envisioning The Purple Guy as his own separate entity.

But that's part of the fun of Five Nights at Freddy's. You can play around with multiple theories and canons and never be wrong.

What do you think about the ending of Sister Location? Is this the stupidest theory you've ever heard in your life? Have your own theories about Baby, Ennard, and you, the player? Let us know!
