Saying a Tearful Goodbye

Michael's P.O.V.
I hugged William tight, despite my current form. I had been waiting to do this for over 50 years.
My father struggled weakly, seemingly not wanting the hug. Strange, but I'd never be able to do this again.
"Dad" I whispered, finally being able to see the real William. Not a murderer, not a monster. Just an ordinary man.
"Get away, you worthless trash." William hissed, seething with justified rage. "You killed them! Alice, Elizabeth, Gabriel, and countless others! You monster!"
I snarled back, making William jolt. I then threw him into the nearest wall, my insanity building for a second before I regained full control. "I'm trying to help you, idiot!"
William staggered to his feet, bearing a fearful expression. "P-please, don't kill me like the others. Please. I'm begging you."
I ran over to William and grabbed his arm. "You're coming with me." My vision was turning grey and fuzzy at the edges, indicating that the night would end shortly.
William was fighting against me, yanking his arm forcefully in a failed attempt to escape my steely grasp.
"Weak," I muttered under my breath.
As the night ended, I held William close to my wire-tangled body as I blacked out, praying that he would come with me.

William's P.O.V.
A rushing force made me black out for an instant. When my vision focused, the sight was shocking.
The kids I had killed, their faces had blurred together over time. But I was certain that they were my victims. Some we're rising as if from a deep sleep. Others were trickling in through a portal. Michael, however, was nowhere in sight.
The clown-masked man disentangled himself from me before walking towards the doorway that the kids were coming from. "Come on. Go already."
"What is it?" I asked.
All the children immediately whipped their heads around to face me, startled.
"What's HE doing here?" a frog-masked girl shouted accusingly.
"IT'S THE PURPLE GUY!" the Bonnie child wailed.
A puppet-masked girl appeared out of nowhere. "How are you here?"
I froze, paralyzed by fear. "I never meant to kill you."
The puppet-masked girl laughed. "Yeah right! You're lying again, as always!"
"Shut the hell up all of you. He had a condition called schizophrenia. It makes you insane!" the man hollered.
The kids froze, some whispering among themselves. Finally a pig-masked pudgy boy spoke up.
"How would you know that?"
The man ripped the mask from his face and threw it hard at the boy, revealing a very familiar face. "Because I do, punk."
"You again!" I exclaimed, startled slightly. "Why are you helping me?"
Michael gasped, holding his head in his hands as if he were in pain. The monster who had ripped apart the family, killed my healthy children. How could he feel pain?
"You destroyed everything. Everything I loved. You ripped away the things that kept me sane when I was alive! Michael, HOW COULD YOU?!" I yelled, the bottled up rage gone 50 years stale finally breaking open.
Michael looked up at me one last time, eyes brimming with tears. "Just go. Be free. I can't come with you. He gestured to the open doorway, tears streaking down his face.
I stared at the doorway. The children had gone silent, staring at the puppet-masked girl.
She sighed and turned to face me. "I think Daddy would've wanted it this way. Go. Be with your family."
I looked back at Michael one last time. He appeared to be fading, shadow-like chains wrapping around his limbs. He tried to say something, but all that came out was a wheezy cough.
Then he disappeared, leaving a single scorch mark upon the ground. A broken clown mask lay next to it, melted into a twisted smirk.
"Goodbye Michael." I whispered, picking up the broken pieces of the mask. "Maybe you did deserve to rest peacefully after all."
I walked towards the doorway then stopped, turning back one last time to face my victims.
"I-I am so sorry for all the pain I caused you." I said.
The children responded with much variation. But all of them wished me luck, a happy afterlife.
I turned back towards the doorway and stepped through into my afterlife.
