Endless Darkness
Alone. Afraid. What else could I feel? I sat down on the floor of wherever I was and slowly looked around. All around me was nothing but cold, dark emptiness. No matter where I looked, I saw the scary black darkness that I have seen for a long time. Ever since...well, that's the thing; I don't remember how I got here. I don't remember where I am, who I am, or what I'm doing here. I try to look at myself, but I can't even see that. It's like everything just...went away.
Even though I couldn't see myself, I could still feel my eyes getting wet. I was really scared. When you're in that much darkness for so long and can't even look at yourself, you're going to be very scared and sad, no matter how old you are. Of course, that's another thing I don't know about myself: how old I am.
There are times, though, that I can remember a few things, but small, small things. For example, for a weird reason, I can only think of the color yellow. Even though I can't see it, I can only think about it. I'm not sure what it means, though. Was it my favorite color? Was it a friend's favorite color? Was it something to do with how I got here?
I closed my eyes to wipe my tears away. If I didn't know better, I wouldn't have even known they were shut; there wasn't any difference in what I saw. As I wiped the tears, I heard a noise. It wasn't like a thumping noise, though; it sounded more like...breathing.
I opened my eyes, but I'm not sure why; I still didn't see anything. That didn't stop me from looking around frantically, though. No matter where I looked, I still heard that breathing sound. I wanted to say it sounded familiar, but I'm not sure. I'm not sure what to think or believe anymore.
I continued to sit down and take deep breaths as the breathing sound got louder. I could feel my heart beat really quickly as the sound got closer and closer to my ear! I could feel the tears come back as I started shaking with panic! I don't know if this breathing noise is going to hurt me, but I also don't know if it's nothing bad!
Finally, the noise stopped. The only thing I could hear was my own breathing as my heart slowly started to not feel so fast. I moved my head around. Nothing in front of me. Behind me, though, was something different.
Behind me was what looked like something...familiar. It was mainly yellow, but I could see purple on it, too. I slowly stood up and walked towards it. I finally got close enough to it to where I could see it better. It was a small yellow bear with black eyes and nose, as well as a bright purple hat and bow tie.
Suddenly, I saw it blink! It actually scared me a bit! It then slowly turned its head towards me and a smile grew on its face! That's when its mouth opened.
"What did he do this time?"
I just looked at the bear while I felt very confused. Who was "he"? And what did it mean "this time?"
"He locked you in your room again."
What did that mean? This couldn't be my room, right? It was too dark and endless to be my room...right?
"Don't be scared. I am here with you."
Why would I not be scared when a teddy bear is talking to me? That's when its arms went up above it. I stared at it for a bit before realizing he was offering a hug...I think. Without anything to lose, I walked up to it and picked it up before then hugging it tightly. Huh. I don't know why, but this feeling seems...familiar. I then heard what sounded like laughing. Very, very familiar laughing.
I then gasped in realization. I recognized that laugh! I don't know who it came from, but I remember hearing that before! That's when everything turned white.
