Rumors
There was one other employee I knew at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza that might know about anything that happened there. And just my luck, she was at my house when I woke up this afternoon. I went to the kitchen for something to eat and I found a familiar redheaded girl eating some spaghetti from our fridge.
"Oh, hey, Jeremy!" Courtney said with a smile when she swallowed her bite of pasta.
"What are you doing here?" I asked. "Don't you have to work?"
"Not till later," she replied. "I'm here because my roommate is just being a total bitch, and I needed to get away from her."
"Oh, I gotcha."
I then went to the fridge and took out some leftover pork chops. It amazes me how many leftovers we have in our house.
"Hey, can I ask you something?" I then said to her.
"You just did," she replied with a smile.
I smiled back and put the pork chops in the microwave.
"But seriously," she continued, "go right ahead."
I typed 30 seconds into the microwave and pressed 'Start'.
"Have you heard anything unusual about Freddy Fazbear's Pizza?" I asked.
"Like what?" She asked after taking a sip of some milk.
"I don't know...something just doesn't seem right about the place."
"Well, the girl who works the counter the shift before mine did say something about the manager."
"Like what?"
"I'm not sure how true it is, but apparently he has a criminal record."
"What?!"
"Yeah. He apparently did time in prison for physically abusing his children when they were like 10."
"And they let him manage a children's restaurant??"
"Again, it's just a rumor."
The microwave beeped. I opened it up and felt the chops. Still a bit cold. I closed the door and added 30 more seconds.
"I also heard something about that freaky security guard who works the day shift," Courtney continued.
"Like what?" I asked.
"Again, it's just a rumor, but he apparently worked security for the old restaurant, as well!"
"Really?"
"Yeah. He apparently worked the night shift. He claimed it was a dangerous job over there, too. I don't understand why he finds being a night guard dangerous..."
"Yeah, that's strange," I agreed with a nervous chuckle.
"Anyway, he eventually quit when the old location was closed, but got the job back when this new location opened up."
"I wonder why he'd come back..."
"No idea."
The microwave beeped again. I opened the door and felt the chops. Perfect temperature. I took them out, grabbed a fork, and sat next to Courtney.
"I still wouldn't trust him around children, though," she continued. "He just looks like a freak. I bet when he watches the cameras, he's just staring at the kids, wishing he could be alone with them."
"I'll admit he's a strange one," I admitted, "but looks can be deceiving."
"Eh. I suppose."
She then looked at her watch.
"Well, I better head to work," she then said as she wiped her mouth on a napkin. "Tell your brother I said hi!"
"Will do," I replied.
She then put her plate in the sink and ran out the door. As I ate my pork chops, I began to think about what we just talked about. Was any of it true? Well, that's the thing about rumors: you never know.
