Finished...?
After I calmed myself down, I got up and left my office. I was happy to just leave this place for the week; I definitely needed a break.
I made it to the main area and saw my freedom in sight. The sunlight pouring into the restaurant felt heavenly. Before leaving, I turned towards the Show Stage and saw the three Toys standing there, as if they never moved. I smiled and silently wished them good riddance.
I turned back towards the exit and jumped in fear; standing in front of the entrance was the manager, donning his purple fur coat and staring with a blank expression.
He then calmly opened the door, not breaking eye contact once. I started feeling very uncomfortable, especially if he really was who I thought he was.
"Hello, Mr. Fitzgerald," he told me with no emotion in his voice whatsoever.
"H-Hello, Sir," I replied while trying to sound calm.
He then slowly turned towards the Show Stage and stared at the animatronics, as I had done a minute ago. I then saw a small smile emerge on his face.
"You've done a good job taking care of the place," he told me with that smile still plastered on his face.
"Oh, t-thank you, Sir."
"That's why I'm going to ask one small favor."
"...what's that?"
He still stared at me with a suspicious smile.
"I would like you...to work some overtime."
I stared into his eyes, which seemed paler than usual, and hoped he was kidding. I quickly got the feeling, though, that he wasn't.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"As I said, you've done a good job at doing, well, your job. And as you might know by now, we are still looking for a replacement for your shift. Until then...you need to continue."
"But...Isn't this place technically on lockdown?"
He gave a small shrug.
"There's a possibility that we may close in the near future...but not just yet."
I continued to stare at him. He did the same to me.
"Why should I do this? Willingly, I mean."
"Because it's the only way you'll get this week's paycheck. If you do one more night tonight, I'll give you your normal paycheck AND your overtime bonus this time tomorrow."
I still stared at him. As much as I wanted to decline, I knew it would be idiotic to not take the money after going through everything I've been through.
"Fine," I grumbled.
"Perfect," he said as his smile grew. "I'll see you tonight, then. Same time."
Without responding, I quickly rushed out of the restaurant in frustration. It took all my willpower to not knock his block off back there.
I guess my five nights at Freddy's is going to be slightly extended. Hopefully it'll all be worth it.
