2. Just Hooked On A Nightmare (part one)
Lola started to wake up. Her head pounded. She raised her hand up to shield her eyes from the bright light above her. The ground beneath her was soft. She felt blades of grass between her fingers. Standing up, the dirt was warm beneath her bare feet. Taking a deep breath, the air was fresh and smelled of freshly bloomed flowers. She was outside, but, doesn't remember ever leaving the pizzeria. Gazing around the large meadow, surrounded by white and different shades of pink cherry blossoms. The white made the meadow feel large making it bright but and the pink making it easy to see so it wasn't blinding. The sky was a beautiful blue with a few clouds to decorate it.
"Am....am i....dead?" Lola asked herself. She looked like she was thirteen years old again. Her white dress flowed gently in the breeze and her black hair that was tied into a braid and rested on her shoulder. A strong wind with petals from the trees blew passed her. She held her dress down as her braid blushed against her face. The wind hummed a familiar toon in her ear. She followed it with her eyes and came to a large cherry blossom with white and all shades of pink blossoms, in the center of the meadow. Its branches drooped down and reached for a large crystal clear lake. Its petals fell from its branches onto the ground, like snow. She walked over to the lake watching all the different kinds of fish swim over the pebble floor. Some petals floated on the water like smale lilly pads. They seemed to dance on the water with the breezy. Dragonflies flying over the water and from one lily pad to the other. She sat down at the edge of the lake and watched one dragonfly, that was different shades of blue with light green eyes.
When a large pink tongue shot out and caught him. A frog swallowed it and jumped from its lilypad into the water. Making a splash and getting her face wet. She laughed for a while, then stopped when she hear humming coming from the tree that was on the other side of the lake. She noticed a figure underneath it, in it's shadow. "Come Lola," called a voice like silk. "Let me see you." The figure stood up and walked out from under the shade of the tree.
Lola's eyes widened like saucers when the figure stepped into the light. "MOM!" She gasped, tears began to form in her eyes. Her mother's arms opened wide and Lola jumped up and sprinted to her at full speed, trying not to trip or slip into the water. "MOM!" She cried out again as she ran. Her simile never withering as her tears flew behind her. Her mother, Caroline, stood with her arms wide, she too began to cry tears of joy. "MOM!" Lola jumped into the warmth of her mother's arms. Caroline using her strength to spin Lola around after the jump then set her safely back onto the ground.
"Lola," Caroline tears tears fell onto her daughter's head. "My baby girl." She continued to cry and hold her daughter tightly.
"Mom," Lola repeated, catching her breath and hugged her mother tighter. "I missed you so much." She didn't care about anything else, but, that fact that she was in her mother's arms.
"I missed you too," Caroline brushed strands of her daughter's dark black hair out of her face. Lola looked into her mom's emerald green eyes with her violet ones. Their eyes were red from crying. Caroline whipped the tears away from Lola's cheeks with her palm. "My little girl," she sighed with a soft loving smile. "Look how big you are."
