Kaizoku's P.O.V
I wake slowly, my head foggy and my vision blurry and bright. My ears were ringing. I let my heavy eyelids open and shut softly. I was on my side, in dim light. I could see the same curtain as Foxy's Cove.
...wait...
Aren't I dead? I was stabbed and had my throat slit! How can I be alive? What the heck happened?
I propped up and glanced around. The blanket that had been on me slid to the ground.. Everything felt off. And really, really wrong. I reached up and rubbed my eyes, then froze. Slowly, I pulled back my hand and stared at my hand. Or, my paw. In the place of flesh, there was fur.
I inhaled sharply, feeling faint. I glanced around and saw that there was a mirror, unbroken, on the other side of the room. I stood and stumbled to it, wobbling in my boots. Boots that I hadn't been wearing before.
I reach the mirror and I force myself to look.
And I screamed.
I jerk away from the animatronic that I had been looking at. She copied. I knew, faintly in the back of my head, that I was looking at myself. But a big part of me tried so hard to not believe it.
Light flooded into the room, and I turned to the curtains. Foxy had parted them, and was staring at me with an expression on his face that I couldn't read. At that moment, I'm not sure if I could read any expressions.
He hurried to me, but I scrambled away, screaming, "STAY AWAY FROM ME! GET AWAY! LEAVE ME ALONE!"
He didn't listen. He came over and grabbed my flailing arms and pulled me to my feet. I tried to pull away, but he held firm.
"Kaizoku, can you be still?" he asked. I jerk again, but he still didn't let go. "Kaizoku, stop."
I stomp on his foot, but he didn't seem to feel it. He sighed, then lifted his head to my ears, now on top of my head, and he murmured soothingly, "Moonlight Primrose, everything's okay. Just calm down."
I stopped, breathing hard. He pulled back and his amber eyes met mine. "Look, if you can calm down, I'll explain everything. Okay?"
I breath in and out hard, then I twist my head down. I felt his hook move away from my arm, and cupped my new muzzle. He made me look at him.
"I'm not gonna sugar coat what happened," he said flatly. "You died. But you've been given a second chance, like me. Your no longer Moonlight Primrose, though I've always loved that name, but you are now Kaizoku. You're a fox animatronic, like me."
I lowered my head, then I said softly, "can you let go?"
"Will you try and run? Because there's no place that's gonna welcome you."
I shake my head no. "I won't run."
He released me. I rub my arms, feeling afraid.
"I'm sorry, lass." he mumbled. I looked at his face and said, "Sorry? What are you sorry about?"
"Biting your ear. Holding you still so that Purple Guy could kill you."
I frown. "But, that was never your fault."
The ghost of a grin covered his face. "Thank you, lass. But," he reached up to cup the side of my face with his hand. "I will miss your big, doe eyes."
I inhaled sharply again, but I wasn't scared this time. Instead, I was hit with a flash back to 12 years ago. "I...I remember you saying that you liked my brown eyes."
He really did smile this time. "And i always will." he used his hook to lift my chin. "But, I guess your new ones are pretty as well."
I blink, surprised. But flattered at the same time.
"So," I mumbled. "What happens now?"
"You met everyone else." Foxy said. He grabbed my hand with his and pulled me out from backstage. He helped me down from the stage, and pulled me to the main party room.
There were other animatronics, ones that I had always remembered in the back of my mind, and there was a creature I didn't recognize. They were around a table, chatting.
Foxy pulled me to the group, and cleared his throat. They all look, making chills fly up my spine. I'm not sure what it was, the lifeless look in their eyes, or that I remember them from my childhood.
Chika stood up from her chair. She had a gentle expression, but she still had fixed eyes with no life. She came over and took my paws in her taloned hands. "Well, it's good to see you up and moving!" she said grinning. "You feeling alright honey?"
I became curious about her country accent. Did she sound like that because she was a chicken?
"Um." I said, then I squeezed her talons softly. "I'm okay."
She smiled, which is impressive when you own a beak, and she looked over her shoulder and said, "Bonnie, Freddy, come over 'ere and meet Kaizoku."
The other animatronics came over. I tried to no shake at their size, and that they all owned the same lifeless look. I looked back at Foxy. the same look had come over him. It scared me. Did I look like that?
Was i... just a robot?
Freddy placed his paw on my shoulder. "It's great that you're up. We're happy to include you into our Freddy Fazbear Family!" He said happily. With his other paw, he tipped his hat. I couldn't help but grin.
Bonnie was looking me up and down with an expression of interest on his face.
"So, Miss Kaizoku, where will you be bolted?" Bonnie asked, his voice light, and almost flirtatious.
"Um.. bolted?" I question. The creature that I had seen before turned to me. His face was painted, fixed with the same expression until death turns him cold. It seemed cruel, never able to show what feelings were truly on your face.
He waved a slim hand my way. "She will be with Foxy in his cove. Now that he is in order, thanks to her."
A clicking noise made me look up at Foxy. his ears had shifted to the top of his head. His amber eye glowed.
"That's right!" he said happily. "I'm back in order! I can see the kiddies again!" he hopped onto a chair and started dancing. He spun and kicked his legs and started to sing. His voice began to weave the story of a siren and a pirate out at sea. The other animatronics started to laugh.
And, in that slim moment, the lifelessness was gone. Hope and joy was there, as they joined. Freddy took Chika's talons into his paws and pulled her onto the table, and they started dancing around the tables. Bonnie took my paws and pulled us up to the table beside Freddy and Chika. The creature lifted into the air and seemed to pull music from an invisible orchestra.
For a moment, I saw a ray of, that maybe being like this wasn't the worst. Maybe this was my change to a happy life. Gone was Moonlight Primrose. That was a stranger whose skin I once wore. I was Kaizoku, a fox animatronic.
But, the happiness didn't last long.
---
I tried to focus on work, for I never worked late when there was a security guard, but John Dufort wasn't due yet.
But, then the sound of music floated down the hall from the main party room. I look up from the filed complaint i was looking at, something about children being able to get too close for comfort to Freddy, Bonnie, and Chika.
I stand, but chair rolling back and hitting the wall. A few drawings, done by the children, fell and fluttered to the floor.
Deciding to pick up the pictures later, I march from my office and down the hall. The sound got louder. I froze in the threshold of the main party room.
Freddy and Chika were up on a table, dancing. They held each other up by their right paw/talon. At the same time, they kicked up their left legs so that they didn't the other dancer. Then they dropped the left leg and did the same with the right leg. They laughed as they danced.
On the table beside them, Bonnie and the new animatronic were also dancing. Bonnie was holding her paw above her head and was dancing her around himself. He was moving his body to dance as well. She was skipping along, her boots kicking and she held her skirt in her paw, waving it back and forth to show the fur of her slim legs. They, too, were laughing.
Floating above them was the puppet master, bringing music. It wasn't the sound of a child's music box like he was meant to give off, but the bounce tune heard from a harbor or pirate ship. He was spinning and flying between the dancers.
On a chair between them, Foxy danced and sang. His arms were crossed, and he was kicking out his legs as he bounced up and down. His head was back and a song floated from his muzzle.
"OH, when I sailed the deep blue,
I felt free, as if the waves helped me and my crew.
We sailed to the rocks of the Diren,
Where we met the Siren
She sang her song,
We listened along.
She brought us down to the sea,
She said, 'stay for all eternity!"
"This has gone on for long enough!" I thought. At the top of my lungs, I roar, "WHAT IS GOING ON IN HERE!"
I knew that I had killed the moment. The effect was instant. Freddy and Chika placed both feet on the ground, and the dropped hands.Bonnie and the new animatronic stopped to, hands falling, feet going still, and she dropped her skirt. It rustled as the fabric settled. The puppet master paused, then stopped the music. Foxy stopped, but he kept one leg kicked out.
"What gives?" he protested.. "We're celebrating!"
"Oh?" I said, strolling in with my hands behind my back. "And what were you celebrating?"
Foxy jumped down from his chair. "Me going back into order."
"Ah, right." I muse. I open my arms on both sides. "Then, by all means, keep at it! You should have a party! You have every right to- hold the phone, who's this?" I looked at the new animatronic, half hidden behind Bonnie. "Our new animatronic is awake? Why was I not told?"
No one answered. Foxy took a step to stand beside Bonnie, hiding her.
I march to them and place a hand on their shoulders, the ones beside each other.
"Come now, boys. I already missed her body being transferred to the suit, and she missed hearing about the next victim!"
"The... the next what?" A quiet, timid voice said. The rabbit and fox glanced over their shoulders, then at each other.
I knew that I could never move them, so I moved swiftly around Bonnie to her. "The next Victim, fox." I said, "A man will come in four days. Your job will be to aid with death!"
She started to shake. "I'm g-gonna k-k-kill someone?" she stuttered.
I wave a hand. "No, you'll just help. Maybe the final blow can be you, no promises."
I turned, ignored the glares, and left. I glance behind me to see the new fox animatronic run to the cove, head in her paws.
---
I run, blindly, back to the cove, when I drop onto the same pile of clothes that I had been on when I woke up. My head was buried in my paws, and I was trying to hold back tears.
I was going to halfta kill someone. One life was going to end, and I had to help. Was this why I was brought back?
The wood creaked. I lift my head. Foxy was back, the happy look gone. His eyes were back to lifeless.
He knelt in front of me and took my paws into his paw and hook.
"I'm sorry." he murmured. "He's horrible, ain't he?"
I nod. I had no words. Foxy, it seemed, had no more himself. He held my paws, and we fell to silence.
"Um, do you wanna get some sleep?" Foxy asked. "The restaurant is closed on Sundays, so that kinda lazy day for us."
I nodded and he pulled us to our feet. I glance around. "Is there a bed?"
Foxy grinned and released my paws. They felt cold without his touch. I felt silly thinking that at once. "Watch this, Kai." Foxy said. He walked to the back wall and reached to a handle I hadn't seen before. He used his hook, hooked it, and pulled down.
A section of the wall came down, and a comfortable bed was revealed. It was covered in blankets and pillows.
Foxy turned back covers and climbed onto the bed, saying, "We all have beds like this beside the place where we bolt. I guess it so that we will care a little less about what Purple Guy has us do."
I shuffle to the bedside. Foxy was stretched out, and was unscrewing his hook. When the hook was hanging from a nail above his head, he looked my way. "Are ya coming? I don't kick, I swear."
I fiddle with the hem of my sleeve. "I, uh, I have never slept with a man before."
Foxy offered me his paw. "I won't lay a finger on ya. Not one finger."
I relax some. Foxy gave me a soft grin, then flipped, putting his back to me. "It gets pretty warm under this many covers. You should, un, undress a little."
I couldn't stop the blush(could I even blush now?), and I was happy that his back was to me now.
I undid the laces of the corset and pulled it over my head. I wiggle out of the boots and pull off the skirt. The white pirate shirt was more of a shift, because the hem went to my knees.
I crawled beside Foxy, and he flipped back to face me. I mumble, "sleep well." and closed my eyes. I felt him slip his arm around me, pull me to his chest, and murmur back, "And to you also, Kai."
And, for the first time in a long time, I wasn't afraid to fall asleep.
