Ignorance Is Bliss
I wrote this poem whilst listening to Untitled, 2014 by Kwon Jiyong so the poem goes with the rhythm of the song, if you want to read it with the song I have put it above.
My life is both funny and depressing,
I always sadly smile.
Laughing whilst stressing,
Living and dying in a pile.
Don't worry I don't want your pity,
Nor your self-acclaimed love.
I'm lost in a foreign dark city,
But if I ever do have enough.
If sore marks appear on me,
Try not to think you can help at all.
And if I finally let go to be free,
You're not the reason for my fall.
Can't you see that I'm trying?
I don't want to die.
Sometimes I wonder if the world doesn't need me here,
If I would be better far away.
I try to fight off this demeaning fear,
But to be honest, I don't want to stay.
Don't worry I don't want your sympathetic looks,
Nor your guilty tears cascading.
Told that your pain is fake sucks,
But if I ever feel like fading.
When my sadness finally spills,
Try not to think you're the reason why.
And if all of this thankfully kills,
You don't need to lie.
Can't you see that I'm dying?
I want to die!
Maybe I'll live a loving life,
All my dreams will be caught so,
No need for a sharp knife,
Can't let go, because you never know.
What if I win and find peace?
Knowing how it feels so,
No need for me to decease,
Nobody knows, we always know.
So I'll fight my way for us,
And I won't stop until I live.
And I will no longer want to be under a bus,
Don't ask, I have no victory to give.
Can't you see me living?
Well, if my funeral still looms,
Try to believe that I tried and tried.
And make sure my flower blooms,
You're not the cause for why I died.
Did you not see me dying?
I really want to die.
