The Justice League was having their first Christmas party, held in the Justice League's cave. Batman would have preferred to be patrolling in Gotham or at least resting at the manor before patrol.

The holiday party was at least being held in the afternoon to leave all the heroes to return to their cities to patrol over the early night.

What batman had been dreading the most is the theme for the team's holiday party. It was a decision made behind his back and agreed upon, leaving his own vote outnumbered from the start.

He'd never even notice the change to the holiday party due to it being in a small text within the invitation email sent out through Justice League members emails. But his son, his fellow vigilante partner, had indeed taken notice over the small detail placed in brackets and had grown very excited over the chance to dress up. Well, dress up beyond being vigilantes.

Batman had very closely rejected going to the party at all but his son had a very skilled known as puppy dog eyes and even pulled Agent A, the father/grandfather figure that neither of them could refuse.

So, Batman and Robin had accepted the invitation.

Robin excitedly speaking to Agent A over costumes plans, while keeping to dominoes to protect their secret identities. Agent A nodding in agreement over such ideas and getting Lucius Fox to help. All without Batman, the greatest detective, overlooking the fact he missed the costume themed party, knowing over the costumes plans.

And he was left a little surprised when he found a Batman's suit done with the theme and styled to look like a Santa suit. The black Santa hat with a yellow soundless bell sewn to the tip turned into a cowl. The suit looked like a darker version of Santa but it was clear who it had been designed with in mind while being useable for Batman if needed.

Robin had been designed to seem a mixture of a reindeer and an elf. The bright colours still help but the suit designed to be an reindeer dressed as an elf. Keeping to the Christmas themed while making sure Robin would be able to still fight if needed.

Both costumes were very made and looked rather dazzling for the short amount given to design them and create them.

"I'm surprised you didn't want to be Santa.." Batman commented as he focused on driving the batmobile towards the leagues cave, purposely ignoring all the speeding laws he was currently breaking.

"I'm not friends with Santa" Robin stated completely serious for a ten year old.

"You're not?" Batman asked a little startled, wondering if the boy had learnt the secret over Santa or if the other students at school had mentioned something out of spite. Wondering if maybe he should have done better last Christmas to make the holidays more special or magical for the boy. They'd done a tree, presents and he'd set out a plate of agent A cookies in the kitchen. But they didn't really do much more or tried harder over the holiday.

"Not really. The circus held a mixture of cultures and religions. We did Christmas special shows during the early weeks of December than we took shelter in a warmer county and have our yearly three week break from performances. Some would travel home or just visit their old homes during the rest. Anyone left at the circus camp would just gather together for a big party on Christmas eve and that's it. Santa was someone who visited other children all around the world but our camp was never visited. I didn't mind, my parents made me feel loved and still passed over presents from them" Robin rambled back with a sad smile, looking out of the passengers window and remembering how winter was spent at the circus. Rather happy having different memories between his two families. Not having either ruined or tainted by new memories replacing old ones.

"Did you want to celebrate Christmas differently at the manor? We don't have to-" Batman started to offer, tensed as he feared that maybe he'd been the one ruining Christmas for the boy.

"I like Christmas at the manor. I don't want to replace my memories with my parents at Christmas with remakes with you or Agent A. I like celebrating Christmas differently and gaining new memories with you instead" Robin happily cut his foster father off and smiling as he explained his reasoning. Shaking his head lightly to show he didn't want any of their holiday plans to change.

"We don't need to leave milk and cookies out for Santa anymore if that helps" Batman mumbled back, kindly, as he wanted to show he'd back up his son against Santa.

"You're the one that leaves Santa's treats out. I only leave carrots out for the Reindeers. Santa won't be getting a single cookie from me until he apologizes" Robin snorted back, grinning big as he pointed out that his vigilante partner was the one to leave Santa's treats out, not him.

"Apologize?" Batman repeated, confused.

"If Santa knows who's been naughty or nice. Than why couldn't he have known that the other reindeers were bullying Rudolph? Santa clearly knew and looked the other way. Until I learn that he's apologized for Rudolph for not protecting him, Santa's left in my naughty books" Robin huffs back with a pout on his lips, glaring out towards the window as he thought over Santa purposely turning an blind eye over Rudolph being bullied for all that time.

"I understand. Santa did indeed end up doing something bad that involved one of his close friends. He should apologize to Rudolph for not helping him" Batman calmly replied to the boy, giving an understanding nod over why he might not be overly happy with Santa since they do give justice to those wronged by others or protect Gotham from bad people.

Robin gave a perky nod, sitting up a bit more straighter over having Batman agree with him over Santa being on the naughty list. Agreeing that Santa was in the wrong and needed to apologize.

"Do you think Batman is bad? Is that why I'm SantaBat this year" Batman carefully asked, his grip tightening to leave his knuckles white under his gloves from where he gripped at the steering wheel. Wondering if his ward had seen Batman as a bad man, hence he turned him into Santa too.

"No! I like Santabat. He helps those who are being bullied. Santabat stands in and protect those who need to be saved. You might not be able to save everyone or overlook some but you do apologize for it. You're what Santa should be, needs to be" Robin hurried to explain his reasoning, growing more shy as he admitted how much better Batman stood compared to Santa in his eyes. Smiling up at Batman, knowing he was his favourite form of Santa.

Batman glanced to his partner, his grip lose on the steering wheel once more and he thought over what to say in return to the boy. He was touched that his ward saw him in a better light than Santa. A compliment for anyone who's told such by a child who still believed in the magic of Christmas.

"Plus. You don't turn a blind eye on others being bullied. Santa left Rudolph to be bullied by the other reindeers. Those other boys and guards were really mean in the youth centre. You stepped in and saved me. SantaBat is my favourite" Robin added with a shy smile as he looked down at his lap, remembering how cruel the other boys and some of the guards were to him before he was taken home by his foster parent.

"Robin-Deer is the best helper and friend that Santabat can reply on during the holidays" Batman stated with one of his rare but gentle smiles, looking at the boy and knowing just how lucky he was to gain the sunshine boy in his life.

The two soon reached the cave and let themselves mingle among the other Justice League members. Allowing them a couple hours of break from justice and they enjoyed the holiday party with their comrades. Robin and Flash both gaining sugar rushes together before turning sheepish under the batglare sent towards them afterwards.

Superman and Wonder Women sharing a dance and a laugh as Green Arrow kept running from Green Lantern who tried forming a mistletoe under the arrow man and the bat. Aquaman and Martian Manhunter left trying out a few human Christmas traditions in a corner, as well as trying to learn to understand them better.

It was a wonderful time for all and even Batman, why not actual smiling, had fun according to Robin smugly saying so as the pair left to drive back to Gotham.

Superman's offer to fly them over rejected after Robin pointed out that the eggnog had been spiked by Green Arrow to gain some revenge on the now very drunk Green Lantern. Superman having had a few cups and was currently floating above the ground instead of standing while arguing he wasn't tipsy at all. Mostly pointing out that he hasn't thrown up all over Wonder Women as Green Lantern had, who was currently being ran home by Flash, why Aquaman and Green Arrow were forced to clean up the mess.

Batman driving the batmoblie to Gotham with the inside full of chatter from his partner as he talked over how much of a grand time they had during the party. Batman nodding and allowing a rare smile to slip from his lips in the privacy of his ward and shelter of the bat vehicle.

And for the rest of December, Gotham was visited by SantaBat and Robin-Deer. Crime rates lower than ever as every criminal had a small amount of cash dropped off in their homes beofre a planned crime would be done, giving them a chance to survive winter without having to spend a night in a cell.
