All within the watchtower stood ready for a fight. Bodies tense and all in an fighting stance, waiting for the split second of their intruder to make the wrong move.

But he never did.

He merely stood still in place, staying in the extract spot he had suddenly appeared in after a flash of blinding light filled the whole of the watchtower and left all feeling nauseous for a few seconds.

The intruder was a clear threat, and yet he had made no move to fight any of them just yet.

The intruder simply stayed standing there, staring at them all through white lenses within his cowl and wore an dark vigilante outfit. A design almost similar to Batman but used up the colours of black and browns instead. A flash yellow for it's utility belt and no other bright colour used. While Batman's own outfit was shown as a bat, the strangers were designed to be more of an intimidating bird. The cowl hiding the intruders face was more bird like and his cape long but almost held a shimmer of feathers in certain lights.

All eyes glanced between Batman, any members of the Bat-clan close by and the intruder. All hoping that maybe the intruder was somehow linked to the bat's and birds of Gotham. But all growing more fearful when none had told the rest of the watchtower to stand down.

And suddenly the stranger's head turned, titling ever so slightly as his eyes grew glued towards three members shoved into the room. Nightwing and Flamebird, both ready for a fight while protectively keeping Robin tucked behind their backs, prepared to take every hit to shield the bird.

All eyes glanced between the intruder and the three, trying to figure out if the stranger was targeting them or was sent for them in whatever world ending way this time around. All of them gathering that the flash of light was magic or some type of transportation that weren't the zeta tubes doing.

And, all of a sudden, Nightwing had stood down and slowly walked towards the intruder with an curious expression. Tilting his head ever so slightly, just as the intruder had done and Flamebird seemed to have relaxed for some reason at noticing how alike the pair were being. Having seen someone else recently pick up his boyfriend's bird like habits, outside and during hero life.

"Baby bat?" Nightwing whispered softly, disbelief clear in his expression as he stared up at the taller man before him.

"Baba told me to always find home if I ever found myself losing mine" The stranger admitted, his voice low and gruff but respectful as he looked back to the hero before him.

"Home.." Nightwing says, heart clutching at the word.

"You and Dad. Home is as much as a person as it can be a place. D-Dad used the last of his strength to send me to another universe. Our world was dying, we had failed to stop it from ending. Baba wouldn't allow me to die with it, gotten Dad to promise to send me away if our final fight ended in failure" The stranger calmly explained as he finally removed his cowl, showing his identity over an young adult Damian.

The whole room fell more silent as they stared to the much older version of their current Robin. A few glancing between Robin and the older Damian, trying to figure out if they were seeing things or not. As well a handful unable to accept how much of an tank the tiny little bird will grow to be.

"Oh geez, bring your son to work is going to get so much more difficult for us now. I don't even know how I'll explain an son close to my age to anyone who asks" Flamebird muttered with worry as he ran a hand down his face, knowing home life was going to get a bit tricky.

"Wallace, you are embarrassing those with actual brain cells. Please cease speaking before you embarrass yourself even more" Robin huffs back as he sends an disapproving look towards the man standing much more relaxed beside him now.

Nightwing ingores the others and soon pulls the bigger Damian into a tight and much needed hug. Knowing his son not son was currently facing his own lost and grief to his own universe. Wanting the boy to feel safe enough to break down and feel if needed.

"You're safe now, Dami. You've got a home with us, always" Nightwing promised as he held his grown up robin close and not daring to let go until the other seems ready to pull away.

"As you have always promised me, Baba" Older Damian mutters back, actually and willingly openly hugging his other Baba back. Having missed such warm and safe feeling hugs.

Most heroes had finally started to leave and getting the hint that the batfam might need a few private minutes to themselves. Batman, Red Robin and Black Bat all hovered on the outlines of the room, unsure what to do or say and getting the silent hint that Nightwing had it handle. But none wanting to leave just yet, half of them suspicious over the new arrival while the last just wanted to listen out for any new information told.

"When do you start calling me Dad? Will I get a mug on father's day or mothers day?" Flamebird asked curious as he looked down at his other's half Robin, at his foster son.

"Richard, you're partner is irritating me again with foolish questions!" Robin snapped out, not even bothering to answer the other.

Flamebird just chuckled before placing an arm around the younger Damian, holding him against is side affectionally. Damian not once twitching for his sword and just sulking as he allowed himself to be half hugged.

"You've grown up so much. Grown into your own hero and grown to be your own person. Are you proud? Able to fill with pride at your reflection in the mirror" Nightwing cooed out as he stepped back, feeling older Damian ready to be released from his hold. Admiring how grown up his son not son was.

"I go as Nightjar in my world. I wish to stay link to those that fly in my family. I'm also better known as Damian Wayne-Grayson" Nightjar confessed with pure pride as he looked between his Baba and his Dad.

"He's clearly a cheap copy. I'd never allow another name to take over my blood right given name" Robin scoffed back, getting a playful squeeze from his Dad to behave.

"I had once thought the same. But I wanted to be known better for the name I grew to have, the family I had gained from love and acceptable. Than have a name that was merely given to me by blood ties alone" Nightjar

"Don't lie to me tiny bat, do we really make you happy?" Flamebird

"Extremely so. I do not regret demanding for either of you two to sign those adoption papers after I had came across them by accident. Our home was always filled with love and safety. My baba and dad cherished me until the end" Nightjar

"I forbid you from speaking anymore towards either one of my comrades. I will not allow you to use emotions to lower their defences and harm them. You stand as my foe and I will never allow you to trick them-" Robin

"They love you unconditionally. I'm not here to steal your parents from you, I'm simple here to be home again. I know they won't be my parents but they've all I got right now" Nightjar

"Don't grow jealous, baby bat. I don't have favourites. I love you just as much as I did before the other you appeared before us. I just can't dare to leave him alone when I'd never want you to be left alone if your roles were stopped" Nightwing

"You're Baba's right. We'd be willing to burn the whole of the universe just to protect you if it was needed. And we'd want every other version of ourselves to be ready to destroy each and every universe for your sake if it was ever needed. You're our reason to keep trying to protect the good of this world" Flamebird

"Very well. I'll allow this man to stay with you. But only due to not daring to allow myself be kept in a cell. I deserve the best sleeping quarters in all universes" Robin

Extra...

"Wayne-Grayson" Damian

"Hm?" Older Damian

"I expect you to give me the answers I desire without trying to pass on an lie instead. We both each other's signs, best to save both our times by not playing any games. Agreed?" Damian

"I agree to those terms" Older Damian

"D-Do they truly hold adoption papers for me?" Damian

"They do. Baba had them written up during the sixth month mark over being your guardian. Dad had signed them the moment Baba had came home with them, already signed for himself. Both had been waiting for our father's death year anniversary to pass before speaking over adopting us. A mission had delayed them and the papers stood out in the open on their dresser, we'd walked past them plenty of times when climbing into their bed after a nightmare. We never even noticed the future they had planned out for us was right there all along. I found them two years later and signed my name before sending the papers away. I was their son soon after and I haven't regretted it since. You won't regret it either. We grow to be happier with them" Older Damian

"T-They still hold onto the adoption papers?" Damian

"How old are you?" Older Damian

"Eleven. Father returned three months ago" Damian

"They haven't cleared out the penthouse's rooms completely just yet. Check a box that would old your scribbles of sketches at school. Not the ones you did for art class but the ones in other classes to pass the time. The adoption papers were kept in that box, they'd be hiding it in the back of the wardrobe soon enough if they have already removed the box from the penthouse" Older Damian

"They can't afford a three bedroom house with their current wages. The both of us wouldn't be able to move in with them" Damian

"They can afford it. B is forced to pay child support. We threaten him into doing so. I'm standing down from any future bedroom arguments and accepting the smallest bedroom. I'll be planning to move out in a couple years and won't have much stuff to fill the room with in these early days. You'll need the second biggest bedroom to have your own art area set up in the corner" Older Damian

"If you have chosen to grow into being Nightjar, who shall I become now?" Damian

"Crane. It was our first choice. Father's other children had snickered over the name the first time we pondered over the new name. Don't feel embarrassed. Nightjar is who I grew to stand as. But Dad had secretly designed a costume for us if we did chose Crane, he believed we'd be the future of heroes someday. Still did in the end. Cherish Crane, we take after our Baba, we fly higher then any birds known can" Older Damian
