A/N: I came across the oneshot and wanted to give an aftermath over Dick living with the batfam now he was free from being the Gray Son. I'm not overly pleased with this but I just wanted to add a bit to the oneshot.

The only two members of the bat-family that seemed happy and chipper over the current events seemed to Alfred and the ex-Talon themselves.
Dick had comfortably settled into the manor, using the locked bedroom that Bruce nor Alfred had ever explained why it was always locked before. But it seemed that the pair had chosen the room and prepared it when Dick had grown to be friends with Batman and a future ally. The bedroom left waiting for Dick after all these years and Dick had squealed over his room the very first time he entered it the night he met the rest of the batclan.
Alfred's moved around the manor as if Dick had always been a part of the family. And to the aging butler who's grown to know where Robin had been birthed from all those years ago, it might be true that Dick's always been a member of the family.
But for the other kids, they were left conflicted.
Batman had openly confessed to leaving a child in the hands of the court for his self gain to bring the court down. Left a boy to suffer by the courts hands and risk whatever bit of life he had left by acting as a spy for Batman.
Cass was terrified to be seeing such a man as a father figure who she loves but was no different than her own blood parents all along. He just had a different weaponized child instead of her.
Stephine and Barbra had purposely kept out of the family's current bad deed by the dark knight. They were apart of the batclan but didn't hold a saying in the family side. Leaving both to give the family a very wide birth while Dick was settling into the manor.
Jason was outraged over Bruce leaving a kid to the owls like he did. He didn't care if it brought forward justice or the court. He cared that Bruce had openly failed a child before he even adopted the rest of them. That Bruce never even spoke over said child who could have easily been killed at any moment or left forgotten to the court, waiting to be saved by the bat who never came.
Tim was trying to be reasonable. He trusted in Batman's decisions and knew that the man must have thought over the act deeply. That the court couldn't be taken down any other way than having a Talon be a spy for the bat. He didn't feel pleased over knowing they had an ally trapped within the court and trained to be a Talon all these years without anyone knowing. But he held faith that Batman had his reasons and only did so because it had to be done.
Even if that meant that Tim was currently being given the cold shoulder by the others due to such a thought progress. It left him feeling their bond grow even more damaged when one had asked "Would you have done the same?" and he couldn't answer on the spot. Silently showing that he might have done the same act as their father did that none of them could forgive.
Damian was conflicted. He's been raised to be an heir to the Al Ghuls or the Waynes. He was meant to be the best at all set of skills. To show no mercy to some enemies and to have loyalty and respect from his allies. But he knew over the court, his mother warned him over them and he knew she never agreed over how soul-less a Talon was. They weren't loyal, they were merely puppets. Damian had always feared growing to be a Talon more than death itself. He wanted to understand his father, felt he had to stay loyal but he also felt sick to his stomach that his father had been no different than the owls themselves.
"Hi!" Dick greeted cheerful as he stepped into the dinning room, dressed in some of Jason's spare clothes as no one had gone shopping for him just yet.
"Do you wish for a plate, Master Dick?" Alfred asked as from where he just placed a plate down before Damian.
"I can't eat" Dick reminded the butler as if it wasn't a big or sad deal.
"But you can indeed smell. I don't mind giving up a plate for you to enjoy the scents of my cooking" Alfred calmly explained with a friendly tone, wanting the lad to have some joy from breakfast.
"Thank you, Alf" Dick smiled back, the smile bright and blinding even if it was a bit out of practice.
Alfred merely nodded in rely before stepping out and heading towards the kitchen to make up another plate for the lad to smell and poke around with. The rest all returning to eating as Dick took a seat beside Cass, wanting to join in with the family's morning conversations.
"What do you have planned for today, Richard?" Bruce asked as he glanced towards the Gray Son, wondering what he had planned while the rest would be busy with school or work.
"Dick. Come on, B. I lost everything else in my life, at least let me keep my nickname" Dick huffed back as he rolled his eyes.
"What do you have planned for today, Dick?" Bruce corrected himself as he asked again, feeling his children's glares on him for using the wrong name earlier.
"I'm thinking over exploring the city. In daylight. Always wanted to try shopping for myself. Thought it'd be rather fun to find my inner fashion style" Dick happily answered as he's been wanting to try giving shopping a try. He would sometimes stare into closed stores window between given tasks and sometimes thought over what it'd be like to try some outfits on.
"I haven't been able to order another card. You've still got no identification" Bruce replied with a small frown, knowing Dick wouldn't have any money right now.
"I'll just pay with the courts money" Dick muttered back with a small shrug as he didn't see any problem with dipping into the courts money a little.
"You weren't raised to be a thief, Dick" Bruce replied in a disapproving tone, not wanting a thief in his home.
"No, I was raised to kill people, B. It's not stealing, it's back payment from not being paid for my work all these years. I'm due a wage, B. Everyone else gets paid for the work, I deserve equal rights too. Even Zombies need money" Dick grumbled back as he sent a flat look towards the man of the manor and knowing he had every right to a paycheck as anyone else. He wasn't thrilled he had to murder others but he has and he deserves a paycheck to get himself a better life now.
"I find that as a perfectly acceptable reason to use the courts money. It's not as if the court would be needing it again and the lad deserves to be paid for his service" Alfred perked up as he placed the plate down before Dick and agreeing with the lad. He know the court wasn't a good place but they deserved to lose money that would forever grow to be lost if it meant helping Dick gain a better life.
"You're truly my favourite, Alf" Dick grinned back as he turned to the butler, knowing he's loved the man since the first time he made him an hot chocolate and forced Batman to give it to him.
"I'll take such an honour to the grave, Master Dick" Alfred smiled back, accepting such an honour.
"Just make sure to stay in the grave otherwise I'd have to make you my favourite twice" Dick joked back as he playfully winked to Alfred.
"Why do he get to make dead or grave jokes but I can't?" Jason asked in a whiny voice, feeling that Dick was getting special treatment.
"You're death was traumatic, Jason. And you use such low humour to upset the rest of the family. Dick doesn't know any better" Bruce sighed as he glanced towards his oldest.
"I'm rather certain that his death was most likely just as traumatic" Jason argued back as he glared towards Bruce, knowing Talon's weren't created without any pain or suffering. The progress was actual hell, all of them read the file over creating a Talon and the long progress.
"Can we have a single meal without mentioning one of us dying?" Tim asked as he glanced around to his siblings, feeling that one of them always finds a way to mention how they died under Bruce's care one way or another.
"I can tell you some of the dirty gossip involving the owls if you're willing to listen.." Dick offered up as he passed his uneaten plate back to Alfred, having finished enjoying the different yummy scents coming from the food.
And that's how the breakfast ended with all the bats and birds laughing at least once during all the gossip sharing and story telling Dick did. All of them learning how the Court had viewed each and every member of the batclan.
The silent war between them all left as a truce as humour and good mood took over them all from a single ex talon's doing.
It wasn't until weeks later when the rest learnt that Dick had always been a superman fan. Having been promised in his early days of Gray Son by Bruce that he'd meet the hero oneday. A promise that seemed to have grown forgotten by the bat but not Dick.
Jason was amused that their father couldn't have invited Superman to Gotham on one of the nights he was meant to meet with Gray Son and let the boy, teen or young adult meet his favourite hero at least once. The whole "no meta" rule sucked and Bruce could have overlooked breaking it just once for the ally that lost it all and give up everything to help Batman take down the court.
So of course, all the siblings huddled up to plan on how to break Dick into the watchtower. Their newly gained big brother deserved to be spoiled and finally meet his hero. To be known by the other heroes as Dick was an actual hero himself, even if he was hidden away as a secret all these years.
Dick having surprised them all by hacking into the watchtower from the cave, giving himself access to the zeta tubes before casually heading up to the watchtower with them all as if he didn't just hack into the Justice League's system.
The day went rather well, the bats bragging over their oldest big brother and how skilled he was. All of them coming up with an idea on what type of new hero he should be. Names and costumes were difficult when someone's been dead for a few years already.
The day ended with them all standing rather smug until the exact moment that Dick came rushing towards them with two kidnapped heroes slung over each shoulder.
Wally West and Roy Harper.
Both red heads had been claimed as Dick's new best friends that he was going to keep and take good care off.
Bruce was not pleased when he found them sitting around the dinning room table later that night.
