Dick may have been a cop but being a cop taught him how to murder someone and leave no evidence behind. He'd been an detective before being de-promoted after a certain case that he dug a little too far in and exposed those most advised against.
He also had a lot of paperwork needing to be finished by his shift, something he had warned his boyfriend over.
Hence he was pretty sure that if he was ever caught committing murder, the judge would admit he had a reasonable excuse and let him off with a mere warning. No jail time.
Because his firemen of a boyfriend had decided that due to finishing his own shift and was lonely. Had came into Gotham's police station and thrown his boyfriend over his shoulder in a fireman's carry before heading towards the doors. Knowing Commissioner Gordon wouldn't scold either one of them since Officer Grayson was always in a need for a break from the station.
It was only made worse by Dick's fellow officers and detectives all cheering, whistling and calling out a few teasing comments towards their fellow officer. Dick knew that everyone would be teasing him and mentioning this moment for the next month until another cop or detective embarrasses them before a large amount of badge wearing witnesses.
His boyfriend just smirked, feeling rather proud over easily kidnapping his boyfriend and making such an embarrassing scene over it. Dick would remind him who's fault all his future complaining would be and stay complaining over being the joke of the station until a new victim appears for the station to laugh at.
"Jason" Dick quietly calls his husband, not complaining over the view he was currently given of his boyfriend but still silently seething on the inside. He had damn paperwork to finish and he had cleared today to complete it all. Now he'd have to apologize to the higher ups over being late and risk gaining a lecture.
"Hmm?" Jason merely hummed back, acting overly innocent.
"You are currently standing in a room full of witness with half of them being cops. But the moment not a single witness is around, you'll be left as an unsolved murder for years to past. Understood?" Dick casually stated with an overly sweet smile to make it clear to any who were around that they were speaking pleasantly to each other and not threatening murder.
"I love you too, Dickie" Jason cooed back with a smug grin, rather enjoying the view he's given himself of his boyfriend.
And Dick was correct in many ways.
He was laughed at without mercy by BOTH the police station and his boyfriend's fire station whenever he was near one or spotted by someone working there.
He was also scolded and lectured by the higher ups over his paperwork being late and leaving him in a bad mood for the rest of the week. Since it was a scolding and lecture he would have skipped due to making time for his paperwork to be completed.
His boyfriend had only chuckled at first when he started to complain in their apartment over the aftermath of his little show before finally rolling his eyes after a month had passed, no longer finding it amusing.
Some Month's Later...
Jason had just wanted to reach his bike and ride home now that his shift was over with. He was tired, hungry and fed up. His shift was easy, no calls at all meaning he and the rest of his fire-people were left with tension over an awaiting call that never came.
He just wanted to go home, cook some breakfast and see his loving boyfriend's sleepy but happy smile over having him home and safe. As well as the giggly compliments his boyfriend would give over making him breakfast after a quiet shift.
Than he'll kiss his boyfriend, watch him leave for his own shift today and collapse in their bed to catch up on his disturbed sleep. He'd tried sleeping at the station but he kept jolting away with any and all sounds that he heard, his heart beating as if the bell was ringing. It never did and he just gave up on sleeping like some of the others.
What he didn't need was to find his bike in such a state as it was with his boyfriend standing with an overly charming smile. Clearly proud over his handy work and already dressed for his shift, arms crossed as he leaned against his jeep.
"Did you clamp my bike?" Jason asked, more like stated the obvious as he started dumbly at his clamped motorbike.
"The traffic department owed me a few favours and I decided to cash one of them in" Dick grinned back as he cheerfully started walking towards his boyfriend.
"You clamped my baby!" Jason cried out, clearly displeased over having his bike clamped.
"I did. And you'll have to collect it from the station at lunchtime since that'd be when they'd come round for their rounds today and unclamp it for me. But I'll drive up to your favourite café for breakfast and you can sulk with your favourite food hitting your tastebuds. I'll drive you home afterwards to make sure you're safe and sound at home before I leave for work. I'm not a terrible boyfriend after all" Dick calmly rambled back with a grin as he made it clear he would make it up to his boyfriend by taking him to his favourite café and giving him a lift home. As well as mentioning he'd be able to have his bike back by lunchtime.
"YOU CLAMPED MY BABY!" Jason screamed back as he waved his hands at the clamped bike he stood beside.
Roy, Kory, Artemis and Biz all stood in pure shock over the sight before them. All have been heading towards their own vehicles to head home with, some sharing a ride together. None had expected to witness such a scene after a shift and in all honestly, they were oddly impressed.
Glancing between the clamped motorbike and a very smug Dick Grayson.
None of them had even heard or seen the clamping be done. And most of them had been wide away most of the night. Dick had done one hell of a prank behind their backs and while they should be mad on their friend's and fellow fire-person's behalf, they were left oddly impress.
None dared to speak ill word over it as well due to Dick mentioning only using up one of his handful of favours. And none of the others fancied the risk of being clamped next sometime in the future.
Instead all from the fire station did as they were honoured to do during a susccful prank between the fire department and police department.
All of them cheered, whistle and called out a few teasing comments. All standing as witnesses and would clearly be gossiping about this to anyone and everyone during the next month.
Jason fell pale, knowing his fate had been sealed and regretting embarrassing his boyfriend all those months ago. He felt stupid for not remembering how petty the love of his life was and forgetting how sly he was in secret.
"Don't worry, Jaybird, I love you too" Dick innocently smiled back, giving a quick kiss to his boyfriend's cheek before happily walking back to his jeep.
Jumping in without expecting a word from his boyfriend and just waiting to drive them to his boyfriend's favourite café for them to eat breakfast together while he pouts. Prepared to drive his boyfriend off before having to drive off to work.
Jason let his shoulders slump and shoved his keys into his jacket's pocket once more. Sighing in defeat before heading towards his boyfriend jeep and accepting forgive me breakfast at his favourite café.
At least he'd still get to hear his boyfriend's giggly compliments over good food and adore his cute expressions as he enjoys the food and Jason's company. He'll be giving him a kiss before he hops out of the jeep and waving his boyfriend off as he drives to work. But he'd still end his morning plans by collapsing in their bed, waiting to hear his boyfriend return home later after returning from collecting his bike.
Dating a first responder always kept their lives exciting.
