Christmas Special - RoyDick.

Run Down: Please Read.
No one knows the identity of the batclan. Wayne Enterprises is still known for funding the Watchtower. Helping to design and build uniforms and hero gears. As well as Wayne Enterprises having a charity for those effected by a villain and hero's showdown. Helping to rebuild their homes, help with medical bills and sheltering them when needed.
Jason did die but he didn't lose himself to the pit's anger or his hunger for revenge. He did kidnap a baby Damian and bought him. Deciding that giving a new-born to an unknowing Bruce would be punishment enough for his adopted father. Tim had awkwardly offered the Robin title back but Jason took a glance to the pod holding his old outfit and refused the green shorts lifestyle again.
Still growing Red Hood and going against Bruce's rules. But Batman was a little distracted with a baby Damian suddenly in his care to really stop Jason. Mostly due to both Alfred and Dick corning the bat whenever he tried dumping his son on others and let batman take over his life again.
So, yeah, no one knows over the batclan's identities due to Bruce not wanting his children's lives put in more danger due to not trusting every hero. Nor did he want the Justice League to learn he came from money and still recklessly used up the funds given to them. As he stays silent as Batman, he gets to take notes over who's wasting funds or being a bit reckless and have Bruce Wayne write a few concerns/complaints over the Justice League's spending habits and demands on so many repairs or new stuff all together.
Now, due to no one knowing the Wayne's being the bat-family. It leaves them to casually do a Santa visit in Gotham that aimed towards the hero community. Giving those with meta children a chance to safely take them to see Santa, gain a free present during their visit and have a photo done if wanted.
The building placed for Santa's visit is close to the Gotham's zeta tube as well. Making it easy access for anyone who comes with their child/children to do a Santa visit.
The ticket is cheaper than anywhere else and the money goes towards the Justice League's fond in Wayne Enterprises, gaining the justice league to at least put a little bit of their own money into the fund. Even if it's barely lose change slowly added up to fifty or a hundred pounds.
The Santa visit is called "Night-Claus" since it's only opened in the afternoon and nights. The batfam all dressed up in Christmas themed outfits, no masks to be seen and giving heroes a chance to meet the family that were funding them.
But not all of the batclan would be at Night-Claus at once. The siblings take shifts so half of them could still be out patrolling. Jason and Bruce swapping the Santa role on different days so Batman could still be out on patrol on some nights before Red Hood would be spotted on other nights.

Roy was rather nervous over taking his daughter to the rumoured Night-Claus. He's heard only good things over the place and heroes are always praising it every year since it's opened.
Heroes were given the chance to go dressed as their hero role or dressed as their Civilians selves instead. Whatever they were more comfortable with or what lifestyle they held with their family.
Roy had Lian in his late teens, he was still young and not really in a happy place. He shouldn't have became a father when he was so lost in his own darkness. But Lian had saved him and he's worked hard to give her a good or at least decent life.
He knew he got a lot of help from the Wayne Enterprise Justice League fund. They had a separate funding that helped the heroes themselves in their private lives when struggling. The money had helped to keep his daughter fed on some of the more difficult times of month when he was close to payday but had no money. Helped him to pay part of his rent on his two bedroom apartment. The fake refence sent out also helped him get a bit of a better paying job too, even if it's still just an archer teacher in the community sport centre.
The Wayne's have done good for his daughter and himself. Been an guardian angel and Roy wanted to at least meet some of the family that had unknowingly saved him.
He also wanted Lian to see Santa. She's five now but he didn't bother the first couple years since he knew she was a bit too young to understand the holidays or remember any Santa visits. The other years, he just couldn't afford to take her once the price lists had changed into double digit numbers of dollars than just under ten dollars that they use be during his younger years.
But he's heard that Night-Claus was cheaper bit still a nice experience. Better than nice by how he's heard the other heroes talk about it. It lasts for only five minutes but it's only $5.
And he knows what to expect during those five minutes and before. While he's paying, a worker by the front dress will ask him to casually fill in a form. His name, his daughters, his daughters age and to tick one of the present boxes below.
They had nine boxes to chose from. One was for books. One was for a girlish toy. One was for a boyish toy. One was for a colouring book kit. One was for plastic gardening tools. One was for a teddy. One was for hair bands. One was merely random, meaning a random present from the other eight options would be picked out. And lately the last box was a hero themed item, random.
It gave parents a chance to tick a the box that would suit their child or children best. Give them a present to take home from "Santa" that they would enjoy and love a little bit more.
Roy chose the teddy option for his daughter. Wanting her first real gift from a visit to Santa to be something long lasting. Something she could love and care for before he'd fondly place it on a shelf as a memorial keep shake.
"Is Santa a good cuddler?" Lian asked as she tried pushing up on her tiptoes to look over the desk placed by the entrance with an elderly man neatly dressed in a suit that made him look a bit like a penguin. A name plate showing his name on the edge of the desk he sat behind.
"He gives the most protective hugs I know. But our best cuddler is our Reindeer. He's the one who passes out the presents after the photo is taken. If you ask for a hug, he'll give you the best hug ever" Alfred answers with a small but kind smile as he gives his full attention towards the girl, showing he had heard her question and was paying attention to her as much as he did her father when they entered.
"Whoa!" Lian squealed back in awe over the news and knowing she'd defiantly be looking for the reindeer later.
"Have a magical night" Alfred told both daughter and father, nodding for them to step through the door to their left to enter further into the building and make their way to the awaiting Santa.
"Thanks" Roy replied with a small smile, feeling a bit awkward over the whole experience.
Soon enough Roy was leading his daughter through the door and praying that this experience was magical and special for his daughter. Hoping that the $5 wouldn't give them a cheap visit that would leave his daughter disappointed afterwards.
He knew to trust the other heroes who had talked over the place but he also knew how much bad luck he's had in life. He knew the one time he takes his daughter, something would have gone wrong or they'd be delayed somehow.
They did walk in awe over the little north pole set up left in the hallways. Decorations had been placed up and paintings over Christmas north pole was seen along the walls. Covering them all and making it seem as if Santa truly lived there with all his little helpers and being friendly with the animals around.
The next room had a bunch of different ordainments and displays laid around the decently sized pathway they had to follow to reach a set of double doors next. Some of the little cities or Christmas themed displays had played music.
It was a winter wonderland and Roy knew he'd never see something as gorgeous as this place ever again. For such a cheap ticket fee, the place was truly magical and filled with Christmas spirit that left both child and parent joyful.
Pushing one half of the double door open, letting his daughter help even if he did most of the pushing. Finding a young teenage dressed as an elf waiting for them with a shy but pleasant smile.
Her nametag held Cassandra and she soon held her hand up, silently asking for them to stop. She waved at Lian who had smiled up at seeing her first elf, knowing she must be growing closer to Santa.
Christmas music played from a small speaker left on a side table near the doors. A pair of black out curtains hanged a little further away, clearly hiding where Santa would be sitting.
A couple minutes passed and soon Cass, the elf, was lifting up the curtains and nodding encouraging for them both to enter through. Lian happily waved at her once more while Roy gave another awkward thanks.
"Hello, Lian. I'm Timothy and I've got a secret question to ask of you, is that okay?" Timothy greeted with an overly friendly smile, dressed as an elf but wearing striped trousers instead of a skirt and tights like Cass had.
"Okay" Lian answered, giving an excited nod.
"Are you comfortable sitting on Santa's lap or would you prefer to stand by his chair instead? We wouldn't wish to scare you, it'd make us really sad" Timothy asked calmly, kneeling before Lian and letting her chose how she gets to see Santa so she won't end up uncomfortable.
Roy did hear rumours over Night-Claus being overly thoughtful for every child's comfort and whatever would make their experience more enjoyable for them. Even hearing that Santa's chair was made from some special material that could hold a giant's weight just so overly strong metas would still be able to sit on Santa's lap if they wanted. There wasn't an age limit at Night-Claus, even adults were allowed a chance to visit Santa due to the place understanding not everyone gain the chance to have childhood memories when they were young.
"Am I allowed to sit on Santa's lap?" Lian asked with a small frown, fearing she wouldn't be allowed and wanting to sit on Santa's lap like she's seen children do in movies.
"Indeed you are. Shall we go see Santa, he's very looking forward to meeting you" Timothy smiled overly sweetly as he stood up, waving for Lian to follow after him.
Soon enough they were walking over fake snow and heading towards a man dressed as Santa on a red and gold chair. Dressed in a red and white suit, fake beard on and extra padding around the stomach.
The Santa smiled and greeted Lian with her name. Leaving the young girl in awe over Santa and the elves knowing her names. Roy just smiling and filling with relief over how happy his daughter was. Knowing that this was a core memory that would last a few years.
Lian was soon rushing over to Santa excitedly and being lifted into his lap. Rambling on to the man and the man listening to every word.
Roy smiled, glad that the poor worker didn't seem tired or fed up with children's chatter. The guy was even replying to Lian and following along as best as he could with her rambles. Roy did notice the timer counting down by the door that was clearly the exit but he purposely ignored it.
"Mr Harper, did you want to be in the photo with your daughter?" A man dressed as an reindeer asked with a friendly smile.
Roy startled as he didn't notice anyone coming near him or even sensed that someone had stood beside him. So distracted in watching his daughter fill with pure happiness.
"Is that allowed?" Roy asked, grimacing over how dumb he must have sounded.
"Of course it is. Parents can join the photo or stay out of it. Some take it as a chance to gain a photo with their child while some prefer to only have their child in the photo with Santa and his helpers" Richard, as his nametag says, answered with an caring smile, happy to help him.
"I'd like to be in the photo with her, please" Roy mumbled back, rubbing at the back of his neck and feeling a bit flustered over just how good looking a man dressed as a reindeer was. Suddenly realizing just how single he was since becoming a single father.
"Sure. Once the five minutes are over with, we do the photo and I'll be passing her present to her near the little reindeer stable over there" Richard smiled back as he nodded towards the wooden boxes carved to all form a stable outline when pushed together. Eight sections created and holding the eight different themed presents inside. All didn't section having a different Christmas paper used on them to keep them separated.
"I thought we only had five minutes all togehter?" Roy blurted back in confusion, his eyebrows furrowed togehter as he had assumed they'd be rushed out after five minutes.
"That's our own fault for the misunderstanding. The five minutes are solely for the child or children to speak with Santa or the elf on the room. We swap Timothy and Cass around during the night but the one left with Santa answers any elf questions asked. Cass will pop in to take the photo once the five minutes are over. I apologize for the misunderstanding" Richard explained with a sheepish smile, his cheeks growing rosy over the misunderstanding that they've had a few times with costumers already.
"I was told the whole Wayne family gets involved. Shouldn't there be more.. helpers around?" Roy mumbled as he looked around, he had a feeling if the whole family got involved the room be overly crowed. But he was still surprise not to see the whole family was here.
"Not everyone is free every night. None of us are use to doing all nights for a solid month in a row. We swap shifts. The first half of the week is taken by my father, my brother Timmy and my sister Cass. Of course myself and my youngest brother, Damian. The rest of the week is my brother Jason, my sister's best friend Stephine, a family friend's son, Luke and our auntie Kate. Alfred who is basically our grandfather swaps out with a family friend, Barbara. Sometimes we mix things up as the month grows to keep us from growing too tired from the same pattern over and over again" Richard explains with an understanding smile as he glances around, having a few others assume that the whole family would be here in one go.
"Are you free on the days you don't do Night-Claus?" Roy decided to risk pushing his luck and see if he had a shot with the beautiful reindeer before him.
"Around lunch I am. I help at Wayne Enterprise" Richard answered honestly with a shy smile.
"Would you be interested in maybe spending time with- Never mind" Roy started to ask, deciding to push his luck before his daughter's bubbly laugh filled the air and catching his attention. Knowing he couldn't date anyone why he was still raising his daughter, no one would go on a date with a man who had to bring their kid to the actual date too.
"I'm mostly in charge of my two year old brother. I'd have to bring him to any plans we make. But I know a cute café that has a small park outside. Perfect location for a date with those who have a child. If you're willing to give me a chance in the love department at least?" Richard muttered back with a shy smile, his cheeks grown a darker red as he made the first move instead and understanding the other man's hesitation. He's often caring for his little brother and it makes dating a bit tricky, so he won't mind another child joining in on the date.
"I-I'd love too" Roy blurted out like a fool, embarrassing himself but not caring as he didn't think he'd ever grow this lucky.
"Are you free on Thursday?" Richard asked, looking and sounding more hopeful over the date.
"I can be" Roy admitted with a quick head nod, knowing better than to give up this chance.
"Pick me up at Wayne Enterprise. I can drive the four of us to our date. I've got a spare car seat that Lian can use" Richard smiled back with a perky nod, happy to have it all set.
"We'll be there" Roy promised with a face splitting smile.
"Look forward to it. But for now, we've got a magical memory to make last for your daughter. Time for the photo" Richard smiled back as he noticed Cass stepping into the room, ready to take the photo for them.
"Yeah.." Roy smiled back, his smile much more cat who got the cream and he didn't care.
Roy was soon standing beside Santa's chair. Lian still sat on Santa's lap and giving a blinding smile. Tim kneeled before Roy while Richard ended up kneeling on the other side of Santa's chair. A two year old boy dressed in a green Santa suit was standing in front of Richard, not smiling but not ruining the photo either.
Soon enough Richard was scooping up the mini Santa, Damian, Roy had assumed. Heading back over to the stable display and having the toddler sat on his hip, already holding the chosen present for Lian that Roy had ticked for.
Roy smiling as his daughter ran over and Richard had kneeled down to be her height. Placing Damian down to stand beside him as he accepted the little's girl request for a hug. Damian clicking his tongue before shoving the present over as soon as Dick broke the hug.
"You really do give the best hugs!" Lian blurted out stunned, grinning from ear to ear over gaining the best hug ever.
Richard chuckled before passing on some cheerful Christmas wishes and scooping Damian back up. Moving to open the exit door open for the father and daughter and waving towards Lian when she kept turning back to wave. Roy smiling back at him and gaining a wink from the reindeer before he disappeared behind the closed door.
"Did you have fun, snowflake?" Roy asked his daughter as he walked beside her, not trying to hold her hand as he watched her carefully carry her present in her arms.
"It's the greatest day EVER!" Lian cheered back, her eyes sparkling and a face stretching smile glued to her lips.
"Yeah, it was pretty magical" Roy happily sighed back, thinking over a certain pair of blue eyes and charming smile.
He really hoped Santa had heard his own wishes this Christmas and would let him get his present early. Hopefully on Thursday and be able to keep him.
Extra:
"The old man is going to have his wings all twisted once he finds out" Jason stated as he looked towards his older brother, having heard Red Arrow gushing over a certain Reindeer he's gained a date with during their phone call.
"He said no dating in uniform. I'm going on a date with Roy as a civilian. I haven't broken any of his rules" Dick simply reminded his brother over their father's rule and proving he's not broken a any of them with his date with Roy.
"Just know that I'm coming to WE on Thursday just to see his reaction once he figures out you found a loophole to his rules. His face is going to be priceless. Might even use it for my personalized Christmas cards next year" Jason grinned back, having cleared the whole day just to sit in and watch their father's expression once he realizes where his oldest is going during his lunchbreak. He'll even be borrowing one of Tim's good camera to take pictures with.
"Send me a copy of the photo. It's been some time since I've found a loophole that actual ends in my benefit. He knows how sly I am and started trying to seal up any loopholes whenever making his rules now" Dick smirked back as he'd want to have the photo framed and hang up in his apartment somewhere. It's bring a smile to his lips on the bad days.
"You are my hero. I've never seen someone brave enough to go against Batman like you do and end up winning half the time. You're someone to look up to" Steph announced with a face splitting smile, hero worship in her voice as she found someone new to look up towards.
"You are my favourite nephew. Please never stop tugging on my dear cousins cape for me" Kate grinned back as she raised an unopened bottle of wine towards Dick. Knowing she could count on him to bring her some Christmas joy this year.
"When do we tell Tim?" Cass signed towards the others, all of them knowing that Tim was a teacher pet and wasn't always the best at hiding things from Bruce. Unless he gained from it.
"After the date with Roy. He'd snitch to B before Thursday if we tell him beforehand. I love him but I've had a crush on Roy for years and I'm not risking my only shot with him just because Tim likes to kiss up to B" Dick answered completely serious as he's been waiting for Roy to finally notice him and give him a chance and he wasn't going to let his younger brother ruin it for him.
"You really were the rebellion Robin. I've heard rumours but I didn't believe them at first" Jason commented, still in disbelief over his brother being as crafty as her was.
"He was the worse out of your Robin's. Smiled like an angel but had a temper of the devil. I've got no clue what everyone assumed he was well behaved and overly nice. He actual made a few grown men cry during his Robin days" Kate barked out with laughter, knowing her oldest nephew had never been as sweet and innocent as everyone else assumes he was.
*********************************
A/N:
Please don't ruin the magic of Santa to anyone who may still believe, no matter their age. If a child chose to believe in the big man, than protect that faith for them. The world isn't always kind and fair and sometimes, believing in a tiny big of magic can brighten up a person's childhood or their life.
Some children are forced to lose their believe by others spoiling the truth out of spite, accident or due to feeling as if they were in the right by not believing themselves.
Sure, lying to a child might be frowned on. And learning the truth may crush them in the future. But let them hold some Christmas magical while they're able to do so. Let them experience the joy and innocence that comes with Santa a little bit longer.
As someone who was forced to know Santa wasn't real, it spoiled Christmas for me from a young age. But I has never spoiled the magic of Santa for anyone else who I knew may still believed. Heck, I knew a teenager during my high school years who still believed and I didn't speak a word. I over spoke on others who tried to ruin their magic.
Sometimes, no matter the persons age, they just need to believe in Santa.
You don't know their past Christmas's or their lives at home. You don't know the meaning or attachment held towards Santa for them. Let them keep that bit of happiness for as long as it could stay untainted.
I know many speak over a cut off age being six or seven. But I find that a stupidly young age. Not many children remember their childhood years before six or seven. Cutting of their magic to Santa so early on due to giving it a go for a few years before won't be remembered. They'd be told that they knew over Santa but they wouldn't hold the magical and special memories once they grow up. Instead, they'd remember not believing in him and being forced to be a bit more mature early on.
Raise your child as you wish. I respect that.
But, don't be surprised that when that child grows up and can't believe in anything or place their faith on something silly.. don't complain. Don't be shocked or sad when they point out your faults as a parent or person because they were taught to not place any faith in someone. If they exit or not.
As well as siblings or friends, protect those that still believe as long as you can. Not all might agree over you keeping the secret alive but some will grow to thank you over protecting their innocent a little bit longer.
Apologizes if I seem like I'm attacking anyone, I'm not. I'm just asking to give the child a chance to believe and chose when to stop believing in Santa or the magic of Christmas.
If you have decided your child shouldn't need to hear such nonsense than give them an actual chance to chose if they wish to believe or not.
