Jason and Dick had snuck into the Watchtower as Red Bird and Robin. Both suited up in their hero gear and masks secured on their faces. Deciding that if they were too young to join a team and if their parents wouldn't take them to playdates in the watchtower, they'd sneak in themselves. 

Red Bird and Robin have patrolled Gotham during an Arkham break out together and Robin's patrolled solo before patrolling with his Baba when caught. But today, the great friend's duo was teaming up for their biggest mission yet. 

Make friends. 

Both knew they couldn't risk being seen by a single adult or anyone of their siblings/uncles and aunties teams. So, they took to using their bat training and snuck around the watchtower. Hiding from all around them and slowing to a stop as they nodded towards a random young hero close to their age to see if they should try talking to them or not.

Neither having much luck in finding a young hero to speak with since most stayed close to their own guardian or mentor or worse, stayed huddled in a group with older heroes. 

It left Jason and Dick having no chance at talking to them alone and gaining a friend without the rest of their family knowing about it. 

But neither gave up, they knew they could find someone to befriend soon enough. 

And Robin leaped into action the moment he found a young hero, barely a year younger than Jason in one of the archers training rooms and tackled him. Red Bird hurrying over and coming face to face with the captured and restrained hero, Speedy. 

"Make friends" Robin simply told his friend as he patted Jason on the arm and soon vanished before either Jason nor Speedy had a chance to say anything back. 

So, Jason simply sat down in front of the held hostage hero and started talking to him. Hoping to gain a friend and also apologizing for his younger friend's behaviour since he was just trying to help. Speedy, while held captured and tied up, took it rather well and willingly talked with Jason. 

Red Bird was finally gaining his first hero friend outside the family. He couldn't wait to note it down in his diary once he got home. 

Meanwhile, Dick was crawling through the watchtowers vents. He took to keeping up high and out of sight the moment he spotted Shadow bat with two of this three partners. Dick knew to stay away, more so when he's broken the rules and hacked into the watchtower to grant him and Jason entrance. With both currently sneaking around said watchtower. It left Dick very happily keeping out of sight of that uncle. 

And it was while he was in the vents that he found the perfect best friend ever. He was so cute. Red hair, freckles covering his cheeks and nose and the most breath taking green eyes he's ever seen. Dick found the perfect soulmate ever. 

It's why he may have grown a little too excited in the moment and leaped down from the vent without thinking. Caught up in finding his very own beloved and wanting to start courting him straight away. His Baba has told him plenty over gaining his very own soulmate someday, the important of someone's beloved. And Dick finally found his own. 

Not caring that he just jumped down into a private meeting within the main debriefing room's full of the original Justice League team. Leaping and flipping off the table before twirling round, letting his cape flap up behind him. Spinning the chair the eleven year old boy was sat on around so they could soon be face to very and Dick happily leaned much closer towards the boy. 

"HELLO! YOU are very beautiful, beloved" Dick greeted with his most charming smile, eyes hidden under his domino mask but were in heart shaped over the boy. 

Dick wasn't expecting a startled and stuttering yelp as a reply to him claiming his beloved and beginning their courtship. It left him leaning back, tilting his head to the side a little lost. He was rather sure that his Baba had told him that Tati had taken the courting step very serious and giggly. The boy before him didn't seem as joyful or excited as Dick was told his parents had acted during their own. 

But Dick was left to think over it as he avoided the many attacks that came towards him in the next five minutes. Crackling as he ran and played with all the older heroes. Finally getting to meet the first Superman and not just his uncle Jon that would play with him on the island when he visited. 

Stopping his game of tag when Grandpa B ordered everyone to stand down the moment Dick took to hiding under his cape. Of course with his cute beloved and he's assuming that Flash was his beloved's uncle due to the man not having released his beloved since Dick started dragging them by their hand to hide under Batman's cape with him. He wanted some privacy to talk with his soulmate after all. 

"I'm Robin. Did I mention how pretty you are?" Dick smiled towards the shaken up nephew being cradled in his shaken up and spooked uncle's arms. 

Dick frowned when neither seemed wanting to talk with him and he didn't understand why the took seemed a little spooked. Unless they were scared over his Grandpa B, he understood how scary he could be. Maybe hiding under the cape wasn't the best place to go for a private talk. 

"Robin!"

Dick beamed at his Baba's voice and soon the rest of the room watched as a smiling face popped out from Batman's cape, eyes scanning the room for the person who had called out for him. Batman looking a little too use to this situation and worrying his fellow heroes a tiny bit more. 

"Baba!" Dick cheered the moment he spotted his Baba heading towards him, seeming a tiny bit panicked. 

Damian opening his arms the moment he stood a few inches from his own father. Cowl removed to show his full face to his son and Dick leaped into his Baba's awaiting arms with a huge smile. Happily accepting the hug and comfort given to him from his Baba. 

"Baba, I found my beloved. He's adorable. Almost as cute as Sitka. I think he's scared of Grandpa B since he didn't want to talk in the cape" Dick gushed back excitedly towards his Baba, filled with glee over finding his very own beloved. 

"You've found an beloved?" Damian asked back in shock, startled by such big news. 

"Yes" Dick cheered back, giving a huge nod to show he was serious. 

"Our baby bird is growing up so fast. Tim, hold your brother. I need to shower my son with kisses over such good news" Colin sniffles back, passing a caught Jason towards Tim before rushing over to his son. Uncaring how Tim simply slung Jason over his shoulder. 

"Richard, point the fool who has dared to try and steal my son from me" Damian demands as he reaches for the handle of his katana, ready to slaughter the one who dares think he's good enough to have his son's heart. 

"No killing. It'd make our son cry if you stole his beloved away" Colin scolds as he reaches his husband's side, slapping his hand away from the Katana. 

"I would cry for him, Baba" Dick warns his Baba, already pouting. 

"I'll hold back gutting him unless he hurts you" Damian promises his son, pressing a kiss to his cheek. 

"Thank you, Baba" Dick smiles back. 

The room falls silent and most heroes that had came rushing to the room, fearing an attack, all started to leave. Letting those in the corridor know that it was a false alarm and leaving those left in the room to deal with whatever was currently happening. The original Justice league team hovering in the room, wanting answers and deciding they'd watch the rest of the scene play out. 

"Whoa! He's smooth. He got a best friend and a lover in one go" Jason blurts out in awe, rather proud over his friend's smoothness. Still trapped slumped over his older brother's shoulder but listening in to everything and peeking over his brother's head to watch the show. 

"Don't encourage him. He's just caused a commotion in the watchtower. Almost every hero was ready to deal with a threat" Tim tiredly complained as he knew the watchtower would be filled of buzzed heroes with no release now that it was a false alarm. 

"And they met Robin instead?" Jason laughed back, fully laughing his soul out of his body over the thought. 

Damian stood a little prouder over his son gaining every hero on the watchtower prepared for a battle due to his actions. He didn't want his son to be seen as a bad guy but he filled with pride over how much of a threat he stood to them all. His son was truly an Al Ghul heir. 

"Would you stop cowering under my cape, my grandson wouldn't be taking either of you home.. for now" Batman spoke as he lifted his cape, staring down to where Flash and his nephew were still huddled up and cowering under the cape. 

"He's a little old for you" Colin commented as he stared towards Flash who stood up, keeping his nephew tucked against his leg. 

"Not that one. The pretty one. He's got fire for hair. Stars splattered on his face. And really nice jewels for eyes" Dick gushes back as he points towards Flash's shy nephew that's face soon grew rather red from the younger boy's compliments. 

"Were you drugged again?" Damian questioned back with an raised eyebrow towards his son. 

"Damian. Don't be rude" Colin hisses back as he smacks his husband's arm. 

"Our son is worthy of a more fitting beloved. I say we kill this one and allow fate to give him a better one later in life" Damian offers up his plan instead.

"Baba!" Dick snaps back, smacking his Baba's shoulder this time. 

A silence falls over the whole room once more, Dick happily staring towards Wally with his best smile and Wally shuffling to hide behind his uncle's legs, rather flustered. Colin beaming beside his husband, knowing this was a huge and important moment for their son. Damian glaring towards both speeders, not pleased that they had witnessed his son finding his life's beloved while he did not. 

"This is Wally, my nephew. He'll be living with me and my family from now on. As well as training to be a hero due to gaining meta powers. He has super speed as I do" Flash introduced with a shaky smile as he nodded down to his nephew. 

"Hi" Wally shyly greets, giving a small wave while staying hidden behind his uncle. 

"This is our son, Richard. He's a little hyper right now. He's not been around many kids his own age. And well, we all only gain one soulmate in our life after all. This matter is taken very serious on the island" Colin introduces his son with an bright and friendly smile, running a hand soothingly through his son's hair. 

"Hurt my son and I will make you wish you were dead" Damian merely threatens both speeders. 

"Hello! Call me Dick" Dick smiles innocently towards Wally, waving excitedly towards the boy. 

And that was the day Dick Grayson- Al Ghul had met Wally West. 

His beloved. 

The man who'd be his best friend and someday his husband. 

Since that day, both Dick and Jason was given the chance to visit the Watchtower more often on their own and meet fellow heroes. Jason befriending Roy and Artemis. Later befriending Bizarro, a superman clone that Dick helps Jason and his friend's to "borrow" from Lex. Jason only learning over Dick's plan to break the clone free when he came across a very nervous Kidflash (Wally West), Starfire and Roy. Jason overlooked that Dick was also Roy's friend and somehow roped him into doing a prison break instead of coming to Jason first. But a day later and Bizarro was one of Jason's best friends. 

Dick was taken back to the island by Damian hours afterwards and given a time out from Watchtower visits. Jason knew that Dick didn't regret a single thing. 

But with Dick standing as Robin more and getting known in the hero community. It left him growing a little more frightful over everyone's reactions to him being a Talon. He still has nightmares over Batman's first reaction towards him and the dread of knowing his uncle Tim was waiting for him to slip up. 

A whole hero community would force him to forever be on the run. It left Dick making sure he was never without his domino mask or sunglasses when visiting his friends. Always careful to never allow a single drop of his blood to be seen if he gets hurt on a mission. To always fake being hurt longer than needed if his super healing heals him way too soon for an injury he may gain. 

He was scared over the others turning scared of him. 

He knew Donna knew, he trusted Donna and she liked having an a friend who was learning to live a completely new life. 

But Dick was still frighten, to be seen as a monster by the rest. 

Even years later, when Dick stood in his later teen years, he was still careful and fearful. Showing himself while hiding himself from all the heroes outside of his family. Never daring to risk being caught as an Talon and having his content life being destroyed. 

It's why he found himself slumped down in an empty corridor, facing the large glass windows showing the view of space outside of the watchtower. Mask barely holding on against his skin as he's already wiped the glue remover around the edges of his mask. Waiting for the mask to grow less stick before he swaps it for sunglasses. Fiddling with the little tube of solvent that's dissolves the glue in his hand. 

"Rob?" Wally calls out softly as he stands by his feet, having a feeling he would find him somewhere alone somewhere in the watchtower. 

"You do know that's not my actual name, right?" Dick shot back with an raised eyebrow, not noticing part of his mask peeling away with the movement. 

"It's my nickname for you. One your Baba wouldn't kill me over" Wally reminds the other as he twists at his hips, making his spine snap where it was needed. 

"Shouldn't you be heading home?" Dick asked as he lifts his head, staring at the other man with half of his mask slipped under one of his eyes and with Wally casting a shadow, it exposed it to an golden glow. 

"I should. Thought it was best to check in on the man I'm expected to be married" Wally replied with a lazy shrug, eyes focused on the exposed eye. 

"I wouldn't force you to marry me" Dick sighed as he glanced to the side, cheeks growing red in embarrassment. 

"Misspoken over that. I meant to say that I was checking in on my future husband that I'm willing to marry someday. Marrying into the Al Ghul-Grayson's give the best medical insurance known on earth. As well as having a good food budget for an speeder like me to live comfortably on" Wally softly admitted with an silly grin stretching across his face as he squatted down beside Dick's knee. Liking the sound of marrying the adorable man before him and spending the rest of his life with him. 

"Did you just admit to wanting to be my beloved due to the benefits that come with my name?" Dick teased with a sly smirk.

"Did I mention how pretty I find your eyes to be?" Wally questioned back as he reached his hand out, brushing some dark strands of hair away from ex talon's face. 

"You've always had a thing for blue eyes" Dick huffed back with an playful eyeroll. 

"I wasn't talking about blue eyes. I find that my beloved eyes shine as fiercely as the sun itself and it's breath taking" Wally confesses gently, eyes staring sappily at the man who had long since stolen his own heart. 

And Dick knew his Baba was right. 

He was surrounded by those that love him.

He was dearly loved as he was.
