Duke wasn't sure what to expect with his first Valentines day as one of the Wayne's. He never every family was different when it came to February 14th and he wasn't sure what to expect from the Wayne's. 

Though he felt like maybe he should have expected things to be as crazy as they were when almost every other night of their life was crazy too. 

It had all began when the clock had strike midnight, showing the 14th had just began and Bruce, who had just showered down from patrol had suddenly ran towards the Batcave like his life depended on it. 

Duke didn't notice much over it at the time. Or the strange behaviour due to actual being one of the only bats asleep in the middle of the night. But when he had woken and prepared for his patrol, apparently Gotham Academy took Valentines day off for whatever reason. He had came across Bruce and not Batman in the cave and seeming to act like he was on a type of secret camping trip in the cave.

It wasn't until during his patrol that he understood why. Reading all the news headlines as the press and all of Gotham searched for Brucie Wayne, deeming him their Valentine for the day, that it made sense for Bruce Wayne to go missing for the day in the one person no civilian or hero would dare to enter. 

Duke got to learn that Valentines for Bruce meant being kidnapped by anyone and everyone for the day as some strangers Valentine. It also made sense why Batman seemed to always take the 14th off in February, it was too dangerous for Bruce to be outside the cave. 

Soon after his realization with his guardian, he learnt that all batfam members were caught up in the wildness of Valentines day. 

Orphanage had to deal with more hackers, many being under skilled but doing their best to catch her attention and ask her out in coded messages. It left her busy for a few hours of Valentines before she was back to keeping an eye on the city from behind her screen. 

Cassandra would be buried in roses and all types of flowers from her admires in ballet class and her fans that had watched her many performances. So many flowers were sent to the manor that she was forced to spend the day and night in a safe house outside of Gotham. 

Stephine was safe during the day but was loaded up with the lack of man power at night as Spoiler. Being the less obsessed hero meant she was mostly patrolling solo and had to help keep Gotham alive on her own. It was a form of torture in her own way and it was rumoured that Spoiler was known to angrily rant towards criminals over how she deserved to be stalked and loved too. 

All bat members were often concerned for her over her jealousy on Valentines day. 

Though Duke was more worried over Tim as he chose Valentines day as a time to be petty and harassed Lex Luthor with random Valentines deliveries that halted his work at his own company. He spent hundreds on multi buys presents and flowers that would fill different rooms of the Lex company. Watching through the security footage as each and every delivery arrive throughout the whole day. 

It left Duke wondering if someone should cut Tim off from his money but not brave enough to be the first person to bring it up. So, he left it be and simply mentioned wanting a new phone towards his brother in hopes he might buy him one in-between of torturing Lex today. 

Less surprising was Red Hood having beaten up perverts left all around Gotham with an red helmet drawn on their foreheads. Red Hood held a rather large fanbase in Gotham and people decided to woo Red Hood by leaving him knocked out and half dead perverts all around the city for him to spot and admire.

Jason was a little flattered over others thinking over him and trying to court him by handmaking a present with him in mind. But he didn't enjoy the clean up nor the complaints the cops gave over having to drive all over the place to find the bodies and arrest them with no actual evidence left dumped beside their bodies.

It meant a lot more paperwork and evidence collecting for Red Hood during Valentines and left him not enjoying any failed attempt of affection sent by his fan club. He'd be a lot more thankful if his fan club just killed all their victims since it'd be less of a hassle to deal with afterwards. 

Duke truly wasn't shocked to find that Red Hood had a fan club and that the fan club tried to show their affection by beating up criminals under his name. It was the most expected thing to happen in Duke's eyes if he was honest. 

Damian thankfully were too young to deal with anything link to Valentine day. Well, any that had tried to catch his attention were either swiftly dealt with by the blood son. Or, if they were too old to be adoring a child, Nightwing and Red Hood paid them a visit while Bruce Wayne was in hiding. It meant Damian was the safest Wayne on Valentines day.

It also meant that Robin was allowed to join Spoiler on patrol and help her out during the night while every other batfam member was kept busy. 

Unless Damian was kidnapped by someone trying to use him to bait Bruce Wayne out of his hiding. But Damian was normally rescued within an hour of being taken and Bruce never once leaving the batcave, not Batman. Alfred often stepped in to help rescue the youngest grandchild and everyone pitied the poor kidnappers facing Alfred's wrath. 

The most concerning person Duke felt towards was Dick, or well better Nightwing. 

Apparently both rogues and heroes tried to woo Nightwing on Valentines day all at once in hopes to gain his attention and win over his heart. 

It meant all day and night Nightwing was forced into wearing his suit and mask and deal with criminal after criminal being left captured and tied up and left on rooftops within Bludhaven rooftops. Not all of the criminals captured were from Bludhaven, they were criminals from all over the universe. 

Both Rogues and Heroes just swept up any and all criminals they came across on the day and dropped them off like tiny courtship gifts around Bludhaven for Nightwing to find and keep. 

It wasn't sweet, it was creepy and very concerning to Duke.

More so when the Bludhaven people had made pleads on the news towards both heroes and rogues to stop littering their city with more trash when people couldn't even walk the streets with how many bodies were packed in and about the city now. 

Nightwing was giving out as many rejections as he could, trying to be nice and kind towards most. Being a little ruthless to those that had been harassing him for years. And Duke was rather certain that he had witnessed Nightwing shoot at Deathstroke before the Camera footage had suddenly cut out. But he wasn't going to ask, Duke didn't want to risk being shot next in case Nightwing decided to silence all witnesses about. 

It left Duke deciding to spend the afternoon of his Valentines with Alfred, enjoying a good cup of hot chocolate and watching some old romance films with the aging man. Neither bothering to care much for Valentines day and were fully focusing on the promised family day that would come on the 15th as long as everyone survived through Valentines day. 

For as crazy as his new family was, Duke found himself feeling rather comfortable in his new home and rather liking his new family too. 

He didn't have to worry over his own crazy as he fitted in perfectly with the rest of the crazy the family had.
