TFA: We'll always pull through, together.

"General. We have a visual on Dameron's fighter." Barked someone from the other side of the dimly lit room.

"Raise him on the Comm." General Organa ordered as she calmly slipped on a pair of headphones.

A few moments pass. No one dares to utter a word.

"Ma'am. He's not responding..." Someone quietly breathed from the opposite corner.

Leia slips the headphones off and calmly walks over to the nearest viewscreen where Poe's X-Wing was being watched.

"Hmm... that can't be good." Mutters the General as she taps the screen, near the darkening smoke coming from the fuselage.

"He must be out cold. Where is that thing predicted to land?" She demands.

"Just about 10 clicks south of here." Came the reply.

General Organa sighed.

We can't lose our best pilot...

"Get the emergency crews out there ASAP!" The General orders. "I want Dameron out of that rubble alive!"

As the mass of people who were waiting for that order dashed out of the room, Leia silently rests her hand to the viewscreen once more.

"Pull through Dameron. Land that thing." She whispers.

*POE DAMERON*

Blaring. Beeping. All noises that I never like to hear.

My eyes flutter open to reveal a sizzling control console in front of me.

"What the heck happened here?!" I muse out loud.

Glancing to my left, I realize that my X-Wing was one giant ball of flames. And falling. Fast.

"I gotta get this thing on the ground."

Reaching down towards the joystick in front of me, my head spins and I start to fall into the oblivious state of unconsciousness once more.

"No. I've gotta land this thing!" I yell as I shake my head to clear it, only with no avail.

Both hands on the joystick now, I level out the fighter and start the landing procedure.

The familiar whirring sound of the landing gears locking into position is cut short by an abrupt mechanical whine from beneath me.

"How could this day get any worse?" I groan.

Well, that's definitely a problem. No landing gears.

Banking sharply to the left, I survey the area below me.

"There. I'll put her down there... that flat spot..."

Suddenly, white hot searing pain erupts through my entire body and the blank control console slips from my vision.

*KAILA FALCON*

"Emergency. Emergency. Requesting all available personnel to Hangar 2." Blared the base's intercom.

"An emergency? At this hour?" I muse out loud. "There's no one out except Poe."

My stomach churns.

BB-8, my cousin's droid turns and looks at me, letting out an urgent series of beeps.

"We better go see what he's got himself into this time. Let's go check it out."

I stand up from the X-Wing engine I was tinkering with and wipe my greasy hands on the rag that hung sloppily from my utility belt along with the blaster Poe insists I carry now that the First Order was more of a threat then ever.

Walking to the door I stop to see if BB-8 was following.

"Come on BeeBee-Ate! Let's go already!"

Finally realizing the danger his master could be in, he wheels in front of me, easily outpacing my long urgent strides.

Arriving at Hangar 2 out of breath, I take in the scene around me.

Emergency crews everywhere, boarding any mode of transportation they could find.

Even more worried now, I make a break towards General Organa who was standing in the middle of the commotion, silently observing her surroundings.

"General." I greet formally. "What's going on?"

My stomach churns again, anticipating the awful news.

She gazes at me sadly.

"Have you not heard? It's Poe... His fighter is predicted of crash around 10 clicks south of here. We tried to raise him on the Comm but he wouldn't answer..."

I was stunned beyond belief.

And angry.

"What?!" I shriek, throwing all formalities away. "You're just gonna sit back and let my cousin, Poe Dameron, best pilot in the Resistance, die because you figure there's nothing you can do!!"

I whip out my binoculars from my utility belt and scan the sky.

There.

My binoculars beeped as they focused in on Poe's X-Wing, scanning the falling fighter for any less obvious problems.

The list came up on my Comm. Way too long.

Staring at my wrist, I scan through the list, picking out the most worrisome issues.

"It-it-it's his controls! They're all fried! But he still has control of the ailerons and rudders..."

I continue to scroll.

"And his landing gears! They're malfunctioning!"

Again.

A surge of anger overtakes me.

"I told him that I wasn't done my modifications yet! But he flew the kriffing thing anyway!"

The General puts a reassuring hand on my shoulder.

"He'll be fine. He always pulls through." She whispers, in a vain attempt to calm me down.

"I've got to help him!" I hiss as Leia's grip on my shoulder tightens, holding me back.

"There's nothing you can do. All we can do is hope."

I shake out of the General's grip and stalk over to the nearest speeder, hopping on and speeding off in the opposite direction of the emergency crews while keeping an eye on my cousin's falling fighter.

*POE DAMERON*

Beeping. Blaring. Pounding head...

Bolting upright in my seat, my hand flies once more to the joystick and my vision focuses warily on the flat surface in front of me.

"Let's do this!" I yell, while gritting my teeth, knowing that I probably won't make it outta this one.

Suddenly, my helmet crackles to life.

"Poe? Poe? Can you hear me? It's your cousin!" Comes a feminine voice on the other end, panic and worry evident in her tone.

"Yeah. Yeah I'm here." I sigh. "Still in once piece."

My cousin lets out a long sigh of relief.

"Okay cuz. Here's the rundown. Your fighter is literally a giant ball of flames plummeting towards the surface. Oh! And you have no landing gears either." She says, her sarcastic trait coming into play.

"Thanks Captain Obvious!" I grumble. "Where should I put this thing down?"

"Right where your headed. Everyone is already there." Comes the static reply.

I gasp.

"Everyone?!" All the emergency crews?!" I scream. "Tell them to get outta there!"

"Leia's orders."

"Well change those orders!" I snap back.

More blaring and beeping fills the cockpit and the joystick goes slack.

"Kriff." I curse.

"What?" Asks the voice on the other end, panic creeping into her voice once again.

"I have no control. Nothin'. All systems are down." I whisper.

So this was how I die. I always figured I'd die in the hands of the First Order, not because of some fighter malfunction.

Closing my eyes, a single bloody tear falls onto my cheek.

"Goodbye Kaila." I whisper, emotion thickening my voice.

((Gosh. I'm actually tearing up right now while I write this... *Grabs tissues*))

"What?!" She screams. "No! Poe! Don't!"

Silently, I switch off my helmet's Comm system and enjoy the sound of the wind whistling past the glass of the cockpit and through the newly burnt through holes.

Closing my eyes tighter, I fold my arms across my chest, relaxing before the inevitable.

((I am literally sobbing silently in my bedroom. Man, I had no clue I could write stuff like this so full of emotion...))

*KAILA FALCON*

"NO! POE! DON'T!" I scream.

I hear a faint click on his end.

He shut his end off... he blocked me out...

Slowly, I lift my head to the sky, watching my cousin's X-Wing spiral out of control.

The tears come. Spilling over like gushing waterfalls. I make no attempt to stop them.

Without warning, a surge of adrenaline courses through my veins.

"I've gotta get over there!"

Revving the speeder's engine, I speed off back towards the awaiting emergency crews. And Poe.

*GENERAL LEIA ORGANA*

"Goodbye Poe..." I whisper as the X-Wing collides with the ground with a deafening thud and then coming to an agonizing stop with the screeching sound of metal on metal.

The sounds of sirens and people sobbing overtakes me as the tears start to flow.

*KAILA FALCON*

The tears start to flow even faster as I leap off the speeder and bolt to the twisted pile of smoking rubble.

"Hey! You! Miss! Get out of there!" Someone yells from behind me.

"Screw you!" I scream back through choking sobs as I pull a crowbar from my belt and neared the cockpit.

Using as much force as I physically could, I try to wrench open the glass coffin holding my cousin.

"Come on!" I shriek, my voice cracking.

Finally, with a hissing sound, the crowbar separates the rubber seal and the sight before my was horrorfying.

There was my cousin. Poe Dameron, best pilot in the Resistance, slumped forwards, head on the bloody control console.

Hooking my arms around his solid form, I drag him out of the twisted cockpit.

Lying him on his back, I brush his messy brown hair out of his face to find shards of glass plastered to his forehead.

My eyes fly wide as my gaze trails to his left arm.

His entire sleeve was stained a deep deep crimson.

The tears start to fall once more.

"Why?" I wail. "Don't leave me now Poe! I need you more than ever! You're a fighter! Please just say something!"

I grasp his blood stained hand.

"Please Cuz? Wake up. I need you..."

*POE DAMERON*

"Wake up. I need you..."

Who was talking? What was touching my hand? Why was my face wet? Who was sobbing?

Weakly, I prop myself up on my elbows letting my eyes flutter open to reveal a hazy Kaila.

"Kaila..." I breathe.

My cousin's head snaps towards me, her eyes brimming with tears, her cheeks wet and covered in crimson blood along with engine grease, her face covered in sweat.

"Poe..." She breathes back. "Are you? Are you alive?"

I try to answer but end up coughing madly.

"Get away from that fighter!" Someone screams from behind us.

My eyes fly wide and meet Kaila's.

"The m-m-map... It's in my jacket..."

She nods, understanding, and sprints off back towards my twisted X-Wing.

*KAILA FALCON*

Poe! He's alive!

My thoughts take a darker turn.

But for how long?

I shake my head.

"Focus Kaila. Get the map. Get in, get out before the thing blows." I mutter.

Climbing into the bloody, glass riddled cockpit, I spot Poe's helmet lying off to the other side.

Grabbing his jacket and helmet, I work my way out of the fighter's cockpit.

"Kaila! Get out of there!" Someone screams.

Turning, I see that it's the General.

My mind reels.

Frantically, I leap out of the twisted X-Wing with agility I never knew I had.

I hit the ground running, my eyes focused on the now once again unconscious Poe Dameron.

Reaching my cousin's side, I grab his arm and drag him towards the emergency crews.

Finally, my body gives in and my knees buckle beneath me.

A few medical staff run to Poe and I.

"We'll be back for you, Miss." Someone mumbles.

I gasp.

"There's... No... Time... Leave me here... Get him to safety..." I wheeze out.

Then, as if on cue, the twisted rubble of the fighter was blown to smithereens followed by a deafening explosion that sent me flying through the air like a rag doll.

Landing with a thud and a cry of agony, I realize that I was lying in the middle of a growing crowd of people.

Still clutching the helmet and jacket, I roll onto my back, letting out a scream of pain.

"Get her back to base ASAP!" I hear Leia order, her voice steely before the world faded into utter blackness.

*POE DAMERON: 1 WEEK LATER*

Heaving a heavy sigh, I roll onto my right side (Careful to consider my left arm.) to the sight of my unconscious cousin lying motionless in her hospital bed next to me.

Boy, I could not wait to get outta here.

Kaila had just came back from surgery the night before last and has been sleeping ever since. I was worried.

Getting up slowly, ignoring the pain in my left arm, I make my way to Kaila's side.

Wrapping my hand around hers, I lightly squeeze.

"Hey Kal... if you're listening, I just wanted you to tell you how much I owe you... you saved my life and completed my mission..." My eyes start to brim with tears. "Please Kal, just wake up. I love you too much to lose ya, Cuz..."

Since when have I said anything like that?!

*KAILA FALCON*

"I love you too much to lose ya, Cuz..." Sobbed a familiar male voice.

My eyes slowly flutter open to reveal a very disheveled and tired Poe.

"Poe?" I hoarsely whisper.

His gaze returns to me, eyes filled with joy.

"Kalia! Thank the maker your alive! I was so worried..." He whispers, embracing me in a warm hug.

"Promise me you'll never pull a stunt like that again?" I hoarsely scold.

Humming softly he replies,

"Can't make that promise, Cuz. I still gotta keep flying and sometimes stunts like that happen."

"I heard what you said Poe. I love you too, ya big jerk." I laugh.

My cousin smiles, something that I don't get to see often and squeezes my hand once more.

Helping me up, we head towards the window looking out over a hangar full of X-Wings.

Poe protectively wraps an arm around me and pulls me closer to him.

"I promise that no matter what we face, we'll always pull through. Together."

*Cue End Credits and music*

The End!

So? What did ya'll think? I used the prompt shown in the beginning of the chapter but modified it a bit.

Feedback is ALWAYS APPRECIATED!!!

I honestly did not realize that this thing is 24 pages!!!! That's the longest thing I've ever written on here!

Well, hopefully now that exams are done for this semester, I can focus on more writing like this!

May the Force be with You!
