Angelica looked up at the screen above her.  Right now, the screen showed all the dead tributes.  She sighed with relief.  She had mentored John Laurens from District Ten.  Angelica flashed back to when she had won the Hunger Games.

*Flashback*

Angelica was in the middle of the arena when it happened.  The canon fired.  Then, a voice rang across the arena.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the victor of the seventy-seventh Hunger Games, Angelica Schuyler!"

Angelica couldn't believe it.  After that, everything went by in a blur.  The interview.  The train back home.  Her new house in the Victors' Village.  Her first tribute, a young man with a strange accent.  And finally, John being selected from the Reaping and her mentoring him. 

*End of Flashback*

Angelica sighed at the thought of her first tribute.  He was gone now, and there was nothing she could do about it.  But she could do her best now to help her new tribute.  Angelica glanced up at the screen one more time before walking back into the crowd of Capitol citizens.  

She was going to try to save her tribute.
