Flight Lessons (Netherlands x Reader)

Lars rustled his wings impatiently. They've healed now, and he was able to get back in the air. He was eager to, actually. It's been a while, thanks to that accident. It would take some getting used to, being with a good portion of his secondary feathers on one wing being burned away. Perhaps he would try again tomorrow.
"Hey, Lars!" You landed besides him, settling your (h/c) wings behind your back. Lars turned to look at you, a little envious about how easily you flew, your wings cutting masterfully through the sky. He grunted in acknowledgement and goading you to continue. "I saw you up there. You're getting pretty close for turning down replacements." You gesture to his missing feathers.
"Too expensive. I don't need them. I can learn to fly without them. It'd be a waste of money." Lars crossed his arms. You nodded once. When Lars had his mind made up, it was almost impossible to persuade him otherwise. Especially if it involved money.
"Okay, alright. You seem to be struggling right now, though. Do you want some help" You offered, already knowing what his answer would be as soon as those words left your mouth.
"That's none of your business." He said quietly. You shrugged.
"Yeah, and?" Lars glanced at you, his green eyes gleaming in thought. He was silent for a moment. If you helped, it would definitely go faster.
"Fine." He said gruffly. Your wings involuntarily fluttered in excitement, causing a small, unnoticeable smile forming on his thin lips. You straightened yourself up, stilling your wings.
"Okay, Lars. I'll come by tomorrow, see ya!" You say, waving as you lifted yourself off the rocky ground. Lars chuckled softly as he watched your winged figure grow smaller. He couldn't deny the excitement in his chest every time he thought about seeing you the next day, your excitement and bright smile playing with his normally hard to reach heart.
