Prompt: something fall related

  "Ew! It got in my hair!"

  The rest of the team snickered as Kai tried to swipe frantically at his perfect brown locks with pumpkin covered hands. He froze when a blast of water hit him in the face, dousing him in the liquid and washing away the muck. Kai blinked repeatedly, shaking his hands by the wrists as he shot his sister a withering glare.

"Why." Kai said with a scowl on his face as he cane back with a new shirt on. "Why did you have to choose pumpkin carving as an activity?" He directed his to Jay.

"Uh, because it's fun!" Jay shot back like it was obvious as he tried to plan out his carving with a marker. He cursed when the ink came off on his hand and began running down the gourd.

Nya snickered.

"Hey Nya," Kai glanced at his sister as he scooped out more pumpkin guts with a grimace.

"What?" Nya replied distractedly. She had been browsing the internet for good carvings.

"Bet I can carve a pumpkin faster than you!" Kai yelled.

That jerked Nya into action. "Bet I can carve a pumpkin faster and better than you!"

Lloyd paused his carving to observe the siblings as they yelled and bantered, moving to a more fast paced, aggressive, and chaotic way of carving.

"My money's on Nya." Jay whispered to Cole.

"That's only because you're too chicken to go against your girlfriend." Cole whispered back.

Zane returned from where he was in the kitchen. Brow furrowing as he observed the scene before him. He had only left for a second. Pixal glanced at him as if he knew what was happening. Zane simply shrugged.

"Keep the pumpkin seeds." Zane instructed. "I want to toast them later."

Lloyd glanced up when the familiar soft footsteps and thump of a staff entered. "Master Wu!"

"... do I want to ask?" Wu asked dryly as he stared at the mess.

"Nya and Kai are having a pumpkin carving contest!" Jay said excitedly. "Ow!" He yelled when his hand slipped and he cut himself with the carving knife.

Zane sighed and moved to get the first aid kit. They had one everywhere in the monastery. Injuries were common even without villains attacking. Especially with Jay.

"Will you join them in their fall themed activities, Master Wu?" Pixal asked.

"No." Wu told her bluntly. "I have no desire to be covered in pumpkin goop. Call me when you start scrabble." He turned to leave.

"No fair!" Jay whined. "Scrabble's hard!"

Cole shoved him gently. "It's not our fault you didn't know that 'cuddlywhump' wasn't a real word."

  Lloyd snorted, cleaning off his knives and putting them away. "In Jay's defence, Zane's a walking dictionary."

  "In Zane's defence, Jay's a walking jukebox!"

"Ha! I finished first!" Kai shouted, tossing aside his tools with vigour.  

  Nya wrinkled her nose. "What even is that?"

  The gourd has been pretty much demolished. Covered in hazardous cuts and jagged lines. The small illusion of what could be eyes and a smile barely distinguishable. "It's a work of art!" Kai said defensively.

  "Maybe abstract art." Cole muttered. Jay tittered with laughter but they both shrunk behind their pumpkins when Kai sent daggers their way.

"Well did you do any better?" Kai challenged. Nya nodded proudly, turning her pumpkin around. She had good drawing skills since she designed the mechs and other various inventions for the team. Of course she never used a knife on a vegetable to do so. She had managed to grind out a face, creating eyes and carving out a ninja mask as well. It was a little rough around the edges since Nya had a heavier hand but didn't look half bad.

Kai scowled, muttering indistinguishable words under his breath as he forlornly poked at his pumpkin.

"Beat you both." Lloyd snickered. He spun his pumpkin around. The beautiful outline of a dragon was carved into the gourd, some sections weren't fully cut into so the light streamed through the thin layer of pumpkin flesh. The teams jaws dropped at the well detailed sight.

"If I won does that mean you two do my chores?" Lloyd questioned with a smile.
