Day 19: X-Men Ninjago Style
October 19th 2020
Prompt: Forbidden Elemental AU
Heavily inspired and based by X-Men movies
This is a bit of a stretch from the prompt but I really wanted to do this so humour me. Also I couldn't think of a good puntastic name for this chapter so your stuck with whatever this useless thing is.

There's the world of the normal people and there's the world of the mutants. The mutants are people who are born with an evolutionary gene, the X- gene. This gene gives them a mutation. The world should've applauded this scientific wonder, it could help them in so many ways. But instead they feared it.
So the mutants suffered with this fear. Because of this fear two mutants rose to make a change. But they both went in very different directions about it. One was named Garmadon. What his original name was has not been spoken for he only goes by his last. He had the mutation of darkness. He suffered from humanities fear of mutants and because of the emotional and mental affect on him he decided that the only way to protect the mutants is by destroying the people without mutations and rising to power.
His brother Wu took a very different direction. His mutation was a mysterious one. He seemed to have telepathic abilities and had wisdom beyond the normal mind. Wu believed that mutants and the regular human being could co-exist. Though the two brothers loved each other they began to see the rift the two different views are making and were eventually forced on opposite sides of the battle field.
A horrible accident happened in this war against humanity and mutants and Wu was left badly injured. Garmadon fled into hiding but Wu knew that he would be back, and that he would never stop trying to achieve his goal.

"Master Wu's School for The Gifted." Kai shook his head. "I really hope this isn't the place."
Unfortunately the large plaque confirmed their suspicions.
Nya wrinkled her nose. "It looks like a temple."
The two siblings stood at the gates of the huge monastery. They could see hundreds of people inside the grounds. Nya's dark eyes widened as she watched a child casually walk through a fountain in the middle of the courtyard towards his friends. Everyone looked...happy, she glanced at her brother. His lips were drawn in a thin line, a visible sign of his disapproval but as the gates pulled open automatically Nya couldn't hide the glimmer of hope in her chest.
Maybe they finally find somewhere they belonged.
Nya was suddenly aware of a tall young man just her age strolling up to her. He wore a light blue sweater vest over a white collared shirt. The crisp snow fabric was almost the same shade as his hair that stuck up perfectly and was cut in the straightest line she's ever seen. His blue eyes seemed to glow as they regarded her.
"Kai and Nya Smith?" He nodded to them and stuck out his hand in a formal introduction. Nya went to take it when Kai grabbed her hand and pulled it to his side.
"How do you know us?" He demanded.
The man retracted his hand with a chuckle. "Master Wu warned me you wouldn't take the knowledge of your labels well. My name is Zane, I'm a teacher here at Wu's school."
He turned and began to walk away. Nya and Kai exchanged perturbed looks and quickly ran after him. "Hey buddy! You didn't answer me!" Kai snapped.
"My apologies, I did not mean to ignore your previous question" Zane's eyes suddenly lit up. Literally they began to shoot beams of light. Kai leaped back, fists igniting into flames defensively.
"KAI!" Nya yelped and instinctively her hand shot out too, dousing the front of his shirt with water as she put out the flames.
Zane's eyes returned to normal. "I see the file at the police station was correct, you are a pyrokinetic." He said calmly.
"What the heck did you just do?" Kai yelled, shaken from his knowledge of Kai's private information.
"I am an android." Zane explained simply. "Or as Jay likes to call it, Nindorid."
Nya furrowed her brow. He was a very impressive project, he looked and sounded almost exactly like a normal human being. "But you're here at a mutant asylum." Kai pointed out flatly.
"Kai!" Nya whipped to glare at him.
Kai ignored her, keeping his suspicious gaze on the strange android.
"I used to be in a mutant experimentation lab." Zane explained as they walked. "They wanted to see if they could give someone double mutations. Unfortunately my first mutation gave me a...robotic physical appearance."
Kai tried to force away the emotions like pity and understanding as they talked. He was only here for one reason only. But subconsciously his heart began to ache for the other young man as he started to connect with him.
"One of the scientists who worked on me was Dr. Julien. He was forced into being apart of the project and eventually was apart of my escape." Zane stopped at a room at the very top of the stairs. Knocking a few times on the door before pushing it open and nodding them in.
"Honestly Sensei, I seriously think you should consider this teaching method." A squeaky voice was saying as the two entered.
"It's perfect! Combining fun and education!" A deeper one added. "Video games is a great way to get kids interested in learning! And the teachers would participate!"
Kai and Nya adopted confused expressions as they looked upon the scene. A short boy with dark chocolate curls was talking animatedly in the middle of the room. Beside him was a broad-shouldered, well muscled ravenett who was nodding along. Before them sat an old greying man with a long white beard and moustache. His bare head had a large hat on top and his eyes were aged but wise. He looked like he was in good shape for a senior citizen but he sat in a wheel chair. He looked towards them, dark eyes seeming to stare into their soul as he met their eyes.
"I'll think about it." He told the two young men in the room. "I believe you both have classes to teach?"
The taller boy seemed to know this was a dismissal and began to leave only to turn back when the other didn't. He grabbed the freckled boy by the collar and dragged him out of the room. Nya glanced at them as they passed, stopping short when she met the bright blue eyes of the shorter boy. Time see me to stop and the blue bell eyes widened when they locked in on her own. Nya wasn't sure what caught her attention about him. He wasn't the most handsome boy he's met, had a round, almost babyish face and a wide grin. But there was something that drew her automatically to him. She blinked and confusion lit her when she realized he was gone.
"Kai, Nya." Who they both assumed was Master Wu greeted them. "Welcome to my school."
"Enough with the chit chat." Kai said sharply, he reached in his pocket and pulled out a slip of paper and a business card. "You sent us this. Saying you knew our parents." He placed them both on the desk to his left.
Wu chuckled. "You are much like your father Kai, Ray always cut right to the chase."
Kai flinched. "Do you know where they are?"
Nya felt the familiar feeling of disappointment wash over her as the man shook his head, she had been expecting as much. No one had caught wind of them since she was a young child.
"No," Wu said calmly. But he raised his eyes to him.
"But I know where they will be."
