James nervously fiddled with his glasses, wiping them with his jumper and constantly pushing them back on his nose. He cleared his throat hesitantly, slightly scared of how his friends would react to the news they were about to receive.

"Umm..." Three curious pairs of eyes snapped up to him, well aware that he was about to say something. "I have something I'd like to say to you guys."

"Wait," Sirius stopped him, holding three of his fingers over James' mouth in an attempt to shush him. He put on a face of mock sorrow, going as far as letting a tear slip out of his eye. "You're not..." He choked up and began again, slightly higher this time. "You're not breaking up with us, are you?"

"What? No!"

"Then what?" Sirius immediately sobered up and turned his full attention to James. James' face morphed into one of indecision and turned to face Lily, who had remained quiet so far. She let a small smile turn up the corners of her lips in an attempt to be encouraging.

"Well... you see..." He stopped abruptly and turned fully to face Lily. "I can't do it."

"Okay, babe," she pressed a quick kiss to his lips, cherishing the shocked stares from the other three marauders. "James and I are dating."

"Straight to the point," Peter squeaked out, looking torn between being impressed and curious.

Sirius, however, took a more physical approach. "OMG, MY OTP IS FINALLY TOGETHER!" He squealed and hugged them both, crushing their faces to his chest. "DON'T MOVE! I NEED TO GET MARLENE! SHE OWES ME FIFTY GALLEONS!" He let out another shriek of joy and ran out the door.

Remus watched Sirius, a small smile on his lips, then turned to James and Lily. "Congratulations, you two." He hugged Lily, who had become like a little sister to him, and turned to hug James.

"If you hurt her," he whispered in James' ear. "I will break you." He released James from his grip and smiled at them once more before turning back to the book he had previously been reading.

James watched, an apprehensive look on his face, as the only friend he had that could take him walked away. He would never hurt Lily on purpose. He cared for her more than he ever knew was possible. But, still, the threat sent shivers up his spine as he knew it was anything but empty.

James turned to Lily for some form of confirmation, just to see her smiling up at him, and all apprehension disappeared. Merlin, she was beautiful. And she was dating him. He really liked life sometimes.

"AH!"

They turned to the doorway, seeing an ecstatic looking Marlene. She ran up to Lily and picked her up in the biggest bear hug she'd ever received from Marlene. "YOU TWO? DATING?"

"I told ya," Sirius said smugly. "Now, where are my fifty galleons?"

This one is really short {sorry about that} but I really wanted to do one where Remus threatens James. Anywho, thoughts? Was it great? Good? Bad? Terrible? Also, I take any requests, criticism, and suggestions. That's all for now!
