Patton got home from his mostly 'uneventful' day of working with logic and creativity, super suit in the case as he shut the door with a soft sigh loosening the tie from around his neck, "is that the sound of my sexy boyfriend home?!" shouted Patton's boyfriend from the lounge, from what he could hear the television was playing some sort of a chaotic dating show that always seemed to go completely off the reason for the show.

"yes dear, I'm home!" Patton called and a flurry of footsteps and a blur crashed into him within seconds, "hello sexy office man, how was your mundane job today?" Patton chuckled kissing his partners nose, "boring, I had to have an arm wrestle with the printer to get papers printed... it almost won" Remus chuckled happily, "well, work for me was ok, I did a few things then got bored but the boss is fine with me doing that, I almost destroyed Virgil in a solitaire game!" Patton sighs managing to slip his shoes off and go up the stairs to change and shower before making dinner with Remus who almost set fire to the kitchen chopping carrots.

Afterwards, they snuggled up together on the couch Remus practically asleep on him mutters, "you smell nice" Patton smiles softly kissing his hair, "thanks hun, it's a new soap I wanted to try"

Patton woke up at 5 got ready and left, seeing Remus still passed out as he left was something he always loved, sure they didn't even make it to their bed that night but being in his company made Patton feel whole, even if Remus was a bit inappropriate he still loves his trash panda and nothings going to change that.

even his job,

"Patton, why are you late? we have a time you need to be here by you can't be late all the time, you can manipulate reality and time! why do you not use the time manipulation" Patton glanced at logan or code name logic, with a raised brow, "logic is your code name, use it." logan frowned before processing what Patton said before saying a silent 'ah right, paradoxical loops and fracturing realities... forgot about that'

Roman or creativity rolled his eyes as he sauntered into the meeting room heavily unimpressed with the two, "can you two shut up and listen to Thomas we need to know what mission we're doing" Thomas sighs and everyone goes silent, "roman you need to be here on time tell us to shut up, your later that Patton" roman shrugs putting his feet up on the conference table, "what can I say, Jan was clingy, couldn't make it cus my special boo needed comfort from his PTSD, I think that's a good enough excuse to me" Thomas nods interlacing his hands and leaning his elbows on the table, "now that everyone is here, Nico, dim the lights and lock all entrances and exits please, make sure it's soundproofed so no one can hear their briefing."

Nico nods pushing a button on his I pad and instantly a screen appeared and everything went dim and locks went off with heavy clicks after a second Thomas taps the lit-up board in front of him and cleared his throat, "we have received a letter from one of our agents that the darks have been using the forest to hide out, if we can get them out of their base we can apprehend them using the forest to our advantage since roman you can control that on deceits shifting, logan you can use your protective shields against Storms thunder and manipulation of weather and disasters, Patton you can teleport and apprehend the duke if you time it right with a tackle, all you need to do is put these cuffs on them then their connection to their powers are dulled to practically nothing." Patton nods thinking about what the mission requires, "we need to look the area over so we can come up with a more on-point strategy than that."

logan states and Nico smiles, "of course logan, this is what this is for," he leans over from beside Thomas and pushes another button allowing a birds-eye view of the forest any and all lakes around it each tree and branch in high tech detail, "this is the forested area around the city, all of it to the replica, "roman you have been here since you were little, you should know the forest like the back of your hand" roman nods smirking, "don't worry N I know it exactly like tha- oh what's that? I'm just kidding" he says smugly causing everyone to roll their eyes.

"logan memorises any exits and things that may disrupt your frequency to your protective spheres, you're going to need to use your logic and tech to be able to use them effectively against deceit." Nico says, logan nods already writing ideas and thoughts down o how he could work it and things he could make, "Patton you just need to be able to use the forest to your advantage teleport and take down the duke as soon as possible, if the duke is removed then the other two should fall just as fast"

"When are we planning on doing this?" Patton requests and Thomas pulls up a timer, three days from now, they seem to think they still hidden well and their location has been disclosed to us since we can see their power fluctuation through the thermal reader, you will be sent this for you to memorise the terrain, we expect you to train for the mission." Thomas says pushing the button and everything disappeared standing and Thomas stood and left with Nico through a side door, leaving the three in the board room.

"so Janus had a trigger again?" roman nods, "yeah, I told him I could take the day off if needed but he insisted I go since I have this big important meeting to go to" Patton nods, "vigil has been rather silent, but that's not surprising to be completely honest, it's just odd how he is silent at random times I guess" logan looked at the wedding band on his ring finger with a soft almost not noticeable smile, "hows been hiding this from Remus?" roman asked interested in all the goss, Patton shrugs, "not that bad, I feel horrible lying to him of course but I know if he knew I wouldn't be able to leave him on his own, the duke could go after him and it'd be all my fault. I can't have that for rem"

they all hum in an unspoken agreement about keeping their partners safe, after a bit more talking they went to their workrooms and trained till they were exhausted, before leaving for the day, scheduled like any other day.

that's how it went for the next three days, all training and working on their powers to get ready for the mission, Patton lying and Remus thinking everything was fine, it had been like. that for months if not years before this so he didn't know why it was getting so difficult now.

the day finally came and Patton was in his suit mask covering his features, creativity and logic the same, Patton porting to his position around the cabin, according to the heat signatures and observations of the basic cabin there was a bit underground that they would be underneath, all roman would need to do is manipulate the tree's roots to lift the cabin off its place on the solid ground, most likely causing disorientation and hysteria.

Patton patrolled around the building seeing a strong lack of security cameras and sensors before signalling them to start through their earpieces, roman nodded and dug his hands into the earth and his eyes began to glow a brighter green and logan got his forcefields up around Patton and himself already knowing it's going to be a mess, his hands having a dark blue light around them, eyes doing the same, Patton took a deep breath feeling the ground already shift underneath him as roman moved the roots of the trees to his target, within moments there was a loud groan and crack from the old cabin as it began to be lifted and moved almost like how one would shake a soda to pop.

after a minute there was a crack. of thunder and the cabin go shocked with lightning and a purple silhouette ran out manipulating the wind around themself and targeting logan, a shatter of glass and a loud growl made a signal that deceit was now out, there was a giggle from all around Patton, that sounded strangely familiar to the duke, crazed and manic it made his heart pound, he looked around before seeing a flash of green inside the falling building and then Patton realised the duke was now released,

he took a deep breath seeing the protective sphere around him had disappeared and it was his turn to do his job, "morality~ how ya been suffering without me?" a voice called to Patton he began to glow knowing what was most likely going to happen, "oh you know duke, just as I normally do" Patton smiles happily the duke smirked, "well, I thought you'd miss me? I tend to make a big impression very easily"  Patton laughs as the duke summons a mourning star, "of course you do duke, why do you think I always go after you instead of storm or deceit?" Patton dodges and porting away from the duke a couple of meters away and the duke rapid dashes after him, with his signature manic laugh.

Patton watched as he was chased after, porting to the tops of trees making the duke follow after him, both slowly tiring out,

the duke stopped for a moment as Patton hadn't been visible for a long amount Patton had taken advantage of the lifted tree roots and hid to get his breath and gather his thoughts, he glanced around seeing the duke dash calling for morality to come out from hiding.

He looked at where storm and logic were fighting and logan was almost losing, he ported and took hold of logans shoulder telling him to brace before taking him out of the situation, "thanks, wheres the duke?" 

Patton sighs "still looking for me, stay here until you can battle storm again, I'll distract them." he pats logans shoulder before teleporting away before whistling to get storm and dukes attention both looking at him like a cat does to a mouse.

"sup you idiots! come get me!" the duke laughs and Storm snickers before their eyes glow and the sky clouds over and emits a deep rumble making the wind pick up and howl in Patton's ears, he took a deep breath before moving away just as a crack of lightning hit the spot he was just at.

creativity shouted out in pain as deceit made an ear-splitting roar Patton sighed porting and taking him out of danger where logan was, all of the civilians seemed to be confused by the three disappearances, "logic heal creativity... I'll distract them-" "morality, you cannot distract all three! it's not possible" logan says Patton takes a deep breath mid shrug feeling all of the energy he's used catch up to him, "someones gotta, just hurry up"

Logan shook his head healing Romans bleeding cut "hurry the fuck up logic", Patton ran and ported to the three, all of them looked at Patton like prey "wheres your teammate's morality? leave you did they?" deceit asks and Patton smirked "no, not yet"

Storms' eyes changed and deceit shifted into a wolf, howling and the duke chuckled that menacing laugh,

Patton saw the flash and he teleported away just to still get shocked, he let out a cry of pain as the lightning ran through his system making everything stutter and jolt in himself.

Logan and roman responded quickly logan being done healing and gaining his strength asap with his tech, "morality come here now! port then take us to surround your location!" roman said panicked, Patton groaned feeling the burn of the lightning and his adrenaline pumping.

he ported to them and took hold of their shoulder porting and letting go of logan before leaving him in a spot and doing the same to roman, he stood at the place he was at before getting to them and crumbled exhausted, "I, I can't-" logan spoke through the earpiece,

"Morality, we need you to port two more times, can you do that?" she shook his head "no I'm sorry"  the laugh came back, "you know who you remind me of? this friend of mine, he's really sweet but is far too weak to stop us, give up morality. your compass has been pointing the wrong direction for a very long time"

Patton looked up at the duke who stood in front of him, as his arms were shaking under the strain of supporting his upper half from falling, "no" grasping onto the last amount of energy he ported behind the duke and taking hold of their arms and pinning them behind and putting the cuffs on in a last-ditch attempt to succeed,

there were noises of fighting going on behind him but Patton gave way to exhaustion as his body seised and his breathing became highly irregular, and the duke noticed the mask of morality slipped and the duke froze seeing Patton's face, "Patton, shit!" Remus spoke into their earpieces to abort and leave meet up at another hideout once it's safe.

He managed to run away avoiding the roots and branches remaining balanced, panicked about his boyfriend being severely hurt or even dead, his thoughts began to get to him, does he know the others? who have the others almost killed, thinking about who Patton's mentioned in the past at work was the other twos partners he got into a cave devoiding the cave of any light to think as he processed the new information,

Patton was morality and Virgil could've killed him,

he spoke into the earpiece telling his co-workers to contact their partner and ask what they're doing see if they're ok, Remus sat in silence as his mind span with thoughts, logic can heal but from what Remus knew Janus injured creativity, would logically be able to heal Patton enough? he decided to non-super run the safe house and hide, Virgil would make it within a few minutes to help remove and destroy the cuffs for them to ditch this base and go to another in another direction so Remus can go check on Patton without suspicion.

"Remus why are you so panicked the cuffs are off," Remus looked at Virgil ashen complexion, "morality is Patton, you electrocuted my boyfriend" Virgil's eyes went the size of golfballs "Fuck! really? does that mean we know who the others are?" Remus nods, "creativity is romand logic is..." "logan... I've been fighting my husband for five years!? What the fuck!?" Remus shook his head "I need to. go to the hospital they're going to call me saying he got zapped at work by electrical faults I can just tell,  we'll talk about our plan after I find out if Patton is ok"  Virgil nods, "go to him rem, we'll go and see our partners"

as predicted te hospital did call him, 'his computer short-circuited when he was messing with the plugs.' he ran to the house and got the car and drove grabbing thing for Patton, his thoughts getting the best of him as he drove. he parked and paid the fee before running into the emergency room "Patton heart! fucking Patton heart where is he! he's my boyfriend!" the nurse looked at him neutral faced, Patton hart is in his hospital room on the third floor in that section, go to that receptionist, they will get you his doctor and show you to his Room"  Remus ran to the stair not caring to be caught stopping before he let the spiral stairs and getting to the third floor and the receptionist saying the same thing and the nurse smiled "I was told you'd be here soon, wasn't expecting you to be here so soon, the doctors on his way"

Remus paced waiting for the doctor, the doctor soon arrived and lead him to Patton ho was connected to IVs and a hart monitor, "he was lucky his friend logan knew first aid or we would've lost him," Remus took in a breath relaxing and taking his sleeping boyfriend's hand, "I know what happened Patton, it's ok" he pulled Patton's semi limp hand to his lips softly kissing it.

"I'm sorry, and I won't let you get hurt ever again." Patton awoke to the soft voice and looked for the person, "hello?" Without Patton's glasses or contact lenses, he looked at the Blob of green and smiled, "Remus? That you?" the person gripping Patton's hand tightened slightly but not enough to hurt any of the burns, "I'm right here, do you need anything?" Patton shifted trying to get comfortable, and attempting to ignore the heart rate monitor and the ache of the burns against the sheets, "you, just... you please rem?" Remus smiles softly before kissing his forehead, ok Patton."

he helped Patton shift over and he carefully climbed on and Patton clung to him, as he drifted back to sleep, he mumbles "love you, Remus"
