Patton always liked being near Virgil, sure it may be because they were platonic partners and that the two had grown up together since their parents were also close, he was the first person Virgil came out to about being aro and of course, Patton was a little sad about that but over time it didn't change all that much,

Patton could still go to Virgil for things like hugs and company in general, talk about his overdramatic friends and just, exist. As Virgil said when Patton kept explaining that he was overstepping "I'm still Virgil, Patton, I'll always be Virgil before I came out I still felt the same, it didn't just change out of nowhere. before that, I felt broken but know that I know who I am I feel like I'm not, so please stop thinking your overstepping, I'll tell you if you are." after that talk Patton trusted Virgil to say when he felt like Patton was overstepping, he didn't say it often maybe once or twice.

so when Patton had a bad day of college and required some platonic cuddles while watching a movie before doing homework and essay writing, what Patton was not expecting to see was Virgil sitting in his room typing at his desk completely zoned out, all of that was fine but the fact Virgil had a pair of black glasses with flecks of purple and silver spread throughout the frames "you have glasses!?" Virgil jumped taking off his black and purple headphones panicked "Patton! you're here! i.. I Ummm I didn't hear you come inside! how was your class" Patton still dumbfounded by the fact his friend had been hiding these glasses for he has no clue how long walked over and tapped the frames, with moments Virgil processed what that action meant and he instantly took them off blinking rapidly while doing so, "Virgil how long have you had glasses?"

he stood leaving the room, "ill make us something to eat then you can tell me what happened at your class ok? Are ham and cheese sandwiches ok? I'll add some lettuce and tomato to with mayo if you'd like" Virgil steps out going to the kitchen, Patton rushed after knowing the other was dodging the question, "Virgil, how long have you had glasses?-" "so pat how was your class? you told me that you were going to be doing a test tomorrow for it, have you studied for it at all?" he walked around the kitchen semi uncertainly.

"Virgil, what are your glasses for? you know I'm not going to judge you" Patton thought he was making headway but Virgil just remained silent as he went around trying not to squint as he did, "Virgil, you can talk to me about your eyes... I have glasses! I've had them since I've known you, why would I not dislike you because of something you need?" Virgil sighed stopping his task of attempting on getting sandwiches made, "its not- it's not that pat, I dunno, I don't like my glasses you look amazing with them! And it's weird to see you without glasses If I'm being honest but I look weird, I'm pretty sure I look like an emo logan when I wear them- that's not a like a bad thing- but I just don't like them Patt, which is why I go for contact lenses so I can just... wear those when I'm alone  so I can be self-conscious while no ones around"

Patton took off his glasses smiling, "so how bad is your eyesight compared to mine?" He asks handing his Virgil who sighed rolling his eyes? Patton couldn't tell everything sort of fuzzy he took the black-rimmed frames putting them on before blinking once then twice and snickers, "mines worse than yours pat, be proud" he gives the other his glasses going into his room putting them back on so he could see things past a really strong blur of colours, "how long have you had them for?" Patton asked curiously, "I first got my original pair of glasses for close reading- Janus found out and teased me with subtle statements the went over everyone's head which I'm glad about- six years ago two years after that, they told me I needed more than just short distance so I go both contact lenses and glasses" Patton looked at Virgil with confusion thinking about the times Janus has made Virgil defensive, there was a lot, he remembered one-time Janus bought Virgil a bottle of glasses cleaner as a secret Santa where Virgil tackled Janus who was hooting with how quick his reaction was. Everyone was confused about that but now it made a lot more sense.

Patton stood and put everything away from where Virgil was going to make, "I didn't come here for food Virgil, I came for cuddles and Winnie-The-Pooh cus my class sucked.. will you be ok with that?" Virgil smiled nodding grabbing the blanket off of his bed, it was a deep violet and perfect for cuddles. Virgil lept onto the couch next to Patton who giggled and pushed play on Winnie-the-Pooh as the other got situated and gave the other some blanket.

Patton placed the remote between the two and knew they would have to search around to find it later, then leaned into Virgil with a sigh, "thanks V" he smiled giving a soft peck on Patton's forehead, "it's all good Pat"

Half an hour into the video Patton looked at Virgil who still had his glasses on, he smiled and tapped the other on the arm, "yes Patton?" He glanced at Patton an eyebrow raised out of curiosity, who nuzzled into Virgil a little more feeling a little drowsy and Virgil was warm,

"I think you look great in glasses" Patton felt Virgil do a mix of a huff and a laugh, he kissed the top of Patton's head as his eyes fluttered closed drifting into a blissful sleep,

"Thanks Patt, you look nice in glasses too."
