FH- When He Told Her

"I have a date today! Do we really need to be doing this?"

It was Friday, and Randy, in his ninja costume, yelled at the robot in front of him. Honestly, he sounded very annoyed. He dodged an attack while he calculated the way to take down this robotic beast. McFist was after him again but on the worst day possible. Randy had finally scored a date with his long-term crush, Theresa. Randy sliced a robot leg while he continued to inwardly worry and complain about his current situation.

Suddenly, the nomicon drew arrows to the robot's feet the only Randy could see. The robot, which showed features of a praying mantis, had six legs. "That's it!" the teen exclaimed as he realized his plan. He could take his ninja chain sickle and wrap it around the enemy's legs. Then, he could pull it tight, unbalancing the robo-bug. After he's done this, he could slice into its head and cut off its power supply.

Soon the boy was flipping and running in every which direction. Soon enough the chains were successfully wrapped around the robot's legs. With a hefty yank, the bug was down. Randy dropped the ninja sickle, jumped up onto the creatures head, and thoroughly stabbed its power supply. And with that, he had won. The crowd, that Randy had barely noticed during the fight, was cheering for him. "Yeah, yeah," he noted in a hurry. "Look I have to go so- smoke bomb!"

Abruptly, the teen was teleported to his bedroom. He swept off the ninja mask unraveling his suit. Randy ran over to his closet grabbing his nice button-up shirt at dress pants. He zoomed past pictures in the hallway into the bathroom. He examined himself in the mirror to see what he could fix in the short amount of time he had.

It was then that he noticed he had quite a few scratches spread down his arms, varying in size. In his mind, he panicked. In reality, he stared at himself shocked. What would he do? Well, his shirt was long-sleeved, so maybe she wouldn't notice. He went with that. After changing out of his regular day clothes, Randy combed his hair and freshened his breath with some mouthwash for good measure. Rand then rand back into his bedroom and threw on some dress socks. Snapping him out of his concentration on quickly getting ready, the doorbell rang.

"Randy!" His mom called. "Theresa's here!"

"Just a second!" He called back. Randy finished fumbling with his socks and grabbed his dress shoes, slipping them on. Fixing his shirt cuffs, he ran downstairs. Once there he looked up from the floor to see the breathtaking view of Theresa.

She wore white pumps with a yellow sundress, which had the pattern of light pink cherry tree blooms on it. Her hair was down instead of pulled up. To Randy, though, she was always beautiful. Just extra so today.

"Hey, Theresa. You, uh, you look very nice." She giggles.

"You as well. Shall we go?"

"Uh, yeah. Mom, I'll be back by nine!" He called to his mother, now in the kitchen. His mother called back.

"Okay honey! See you soon!"

Taking each other arm the two teens walked out. Since they were both only fifteen, neither of them had a car. They would be walking to their destination, which was a fancy but cheap restaurant. The two were both excited and nervous, even though they knew this night would be fun.

At least they hoped.

Randy and Theresa sat at their table. Their drinks had been orders. Theresa had sweet tea while Randy had Coke, respectively. They were eating breadstick while they waited for their waiter to come back to take their order.

"What are you gonna get?" Theresa asked her boy. She could pretty much judge what it was on the menu. She was getting mushroom ravioli. She usually got that when she would come here with her mom.

"I'm probably going to get the parmesan crusted chicken. What about you?" Randy glanced up from the menu at her. Yep, that's what she had guessed. She smiled and told him her order. Randy reached for a breadstick.

Slightly under Randy's sleeve, Theresa could just make out scares and scratches. She eyed it curiously, and when she figured it out became concerned. She decided to ask him about it later. Randy, asking her what was wrong, snapped her out of her thoughts. She dismissed him and said it was nothing, but that didn't stop him from being suspicious. After that, they continued to talk normally and eat their dinner.

Dinner was now over, and the two lovers were headed toward Theresa's house. Actually, Theresa was practically dragging Randy there. She was concerned but wouldn't say why. Needless to say, the boy was very nervous. Theresa walked through the gate door around her backyard, entering her backyard. She shut the door behind her.

"Uh, Theresa, I don't know what you have planned, but you're scaring me and-"

"Give me your hand."

"What?" He blushed.

"Give. Me. Your. Hand."

"Uh, okay..." Randy hesitantly gave Theresa his hand. When she had it, Theresa pushed up the shirt sleeve covering his scratches. So she was right. But what did this mean?

"Explain this." She gestured via his wrist. You didn't even want to know what she was thinking. Inside his mind, Randy panicked. His heartbeat raced.

"Well, um, you see, what had happened was, I just-uhhhh-"

"Randy," Theresa stated sternly.

He sighed. He took back his wrist and pulled down his sleeve. "Okay, Theresa, I'll tell you. You just have to promise not to tell anyone. Especially Debbie!"

"Okay.." Theresa nervously agreed.

"Okay," Randy exhaled again. "I am the ninja." Theresa blinked shocked and not quite believing his story.

"What?"

"I'm the ninja. Look, you need proof?" Randy pulled out the omnipresent mask out of his pants pocket. He slipped it on and the let to suit wrap around him. Theresa gaped at him.

"You are the ninja!" Randy smiled under his mask and nodded. "This is amazing!" She nearly screamed, tackling Randy to the ground. By then they were both laughing.

"I thought you'd be scared?" Randy suggested.

"Of course I'm a little scared. I mean, you risk your life every day. But I guess you can hold your ground if you're not dead yet." Theresa lifted his mask a little and kissed him on the cheek. Randy blushed, smiling even wider. "Does anyone else know?" she asked.

"Yeah, Howard does."

"Howard? Isn't he the worst at keeping secrets?"

"Yeah, but he's my best friend, so."

"Whatever." With that Randy took her inside, and then walked home. Once he got to his room he saw that Theresa was blowing up his phone with questions.

This will take some getting used to.
