Hobi was at the grocery store with Namjoon, Jimin, and Taehyung.
He was comparing two brands of the same product when Jimin flounced up to him, batting his eyelashes and speaking with his light, sweet voice, "hyung! Could you please buy me this?"
He held up a box of caramel candies, pouting at Hobi.
Hobi sighed, but smiled, "sure, Chim. Put them in the basket."
Hobi sometimes felt like a dad to the younger members, and even sometimes his Jin and Yoongi Hyung.
But he was always happy to make them happy.
Jimin cheered, and put the candies in the basket the older was holding.
"Thank you, hyung!" He said, before he wondered off.
Next, Namjoon came up to him a bit later, a little bashful and definitely not as dignified and sure as Jimin had been.
"Um, hyung," he called, drawing Hobi's attention from the soaps to his leader.
"What's up, Namu?" He smiled.
"Could you please buy me this?" He grinned, wiggling a packaged sleeping mask.
"Of course, Namjoon-ah. Put it in the basket," Hobi said, motioning to the basket.
Namjoon smiled, placing the item in the, almost full, basket, "thanks, hyung."
Tae had been by Hobi's side the whole time, even though Namjoon and Jimin had sort of been wondering around the store and away from the other two.
But Taehyung stayed with Hobi, even when he was known to wonder away from the group.
A sense of pride filled Hobi, that Taehyung wanted to stay with his Hobi Hyung instead of going off with the others.
It also intoxicated Hobi, the younger's warm vanilla smell rushing into his nose, making him feel a bit drowsy.
He turned to the younger, who looked up at him, startled.
Though he had stayed by his side this whole grocery store visit, Taehyung had also stayed completely silent, and the two acted as if he wasn't even there.
Of course, Hobi wasn't trying to be rude by ignoring Tae's presence, it's just that the younger boy was so warm next to him, and he smelled like warm vanilla and candy, and Hobi felt so nice right now, so calm, standing with him in silence, knowing he was there. He didn't feel the need to talk. He just basked in the younger's comforting presence.
And he guessed Taehyung didn't, either, because he seemed startled by Hobi taking notice of his presence, looking at him for the first time since they got inside the building.
"Do you want anything, Tae?" Hobi asked, "the other two got something, so if there's anything you'd like, I can get you it."
Tae blushed, and his lips parted as he thought.
"There is something I want, hyung," he replied quietly, bashfully like Namjoon, "but, could you please give me the money? I want to buy it on my own."
Hobi raised an eyebrow, but pulled his wallet out, and started getting a large amount of cash, assuming the item Tae wanted would be expensive.
But Tae put his hand over Hobi's, and Hobi's breath hitched.
"I don't need a lot, Hoba hyung. Just a little, please," the younger insisted, his cheeks a light shade of pink.
Hobi nodded, and gave Tae only a little bit of money.
He expected Tae to go off then, and find whatever it was he wanted, so he could pay for it.
But instead, he stared at Hobi, and then the floor.
"Aren't you going to buy it now?" Hobi asked, cocking his head to the side.
"Um," Tae said, shuffling closer to Hobi, "I want to wait until you three are in the car. Is that okay, Hoseokie?"
He looked up at Hobi then, with his big eyes and pouty lips.
Hobi could feel the air leaving his lungs.
He put a gentle hand up and caressed the side of Taehyung's face, before letting his hand drop back down, both of their cheeks pink.
"Of course, ba- Tae," he replied, fidgeting with the basket handles.
Tae nodded, seemingly missing Hobi's almost slip up, "thanks, Hyungie. Can you make sure I get the front seat?"
Hobi smiled; Taehyung wanted the front seat, next to Hobi.
"Sure, Tae. I'll let the others know."
Once Hobi had payed for the items, with Jimin and Namjoon behind him grumbling to each other (the two had gotten into an argument in a different isle), and Taehyung standing silently at his side, three out of four of them were leaving the store and heading to the car.
He waved to Tae, who had promised to only be a few minutes.
He loaded the bags into the trunk, and made sure the front seat was still open.
Namjoon and Jimin were in the backseats grumbling still, with their arms crossed over their chests, leaned away from each other to stare out of their windows.
Hobi sighed, and got in the driver's seat.
He turned around to face them, "Namjoon, Jimin, look at me."
They both faced their Hyung, looking sheepishly at him.
"You aren't children. If you get into an argument, please talk about it instead of mumbling about each other and glaring at each other."
The two boys looked at each other with slight embarrassment. Jimin was the first to crack.
"I'm sorry, Hyung," he said sadly, crashing into Namjoon and hugging him tightly, "I shouldn't have grabbed that from your hand like that."
Namjoon sighed, and hugged the younger back, "I'm sorry, too, Jimin. I shouldn't have gotten so mad at you for it, especially since I'm your leader."
Hobi didn't really understand what the two were talking about, since he and Tae were absent for the argument, but smiled at his younger bandmates who were hugging and making up.
Then, the passenger door opened, and Tae got in, hiding something from Hobi's eyes.
"Hi, hyungs," he greeted, awkwardly buckling himself while still trying to hide the item from Hobi.
"Hi, Tae," Jimin and Namjoon replied in sync.
"Whatcha got there, Tae?" Hobi questioned, a teasing smile on his lips.
Taehyung blushed, and pulled the item out from where it was hiding: a bouquet of flowers.
Hobi stared at it, his lips parting in surprise.
"I got these for you, Hoba!" Taehyung blushed, "I saw them when we first got in the store, and all I could think about was you."
He pushed them towards Hobi, who took them gratefully.
"Thank you, Taehyungie."
Even though these were bought with Hobi's own money, they were bought by Taehyung, who had him in mind the whole time.
Taehyung's boxy smile made an appearance, and he looked hopefully at Hobi, "do you like them, hyung? I looked for the best condition bouquet of this one. There were some blue ones and yellow ones, but I got the pink ones because you've been liking pink lately."
It was true. Ever since Taehyung dyed his hair pink, it seemed like Hobi was in love with the color.
Some of the flowers in the bouquet even perfectly matched the shade of Taehyung's hair.
Hobi smiled warmly at him, "I love them, Tae. Thank you, really."
He leaned forward, and embraced Taehyung tightly, holding the boy in his arms.
Taehyung giggled into his ear, and Hobi stuck his head in the younger's neck, giving into his weird urges as he smelled the delicate, warm skin. The scent of Taehyung was stronger, and Hobi was so intoxicated.
"They're so cute, hyung," Hobi heard Jimin whisper in his sweet voice to Namjoon, and his face flushed red.
He forgot Namjoon and Jimin were there.
He pulled away from Taehyung reluctantly, and turned to look at the two in the back bashfully.
The two of them were smiling at him and Tae fondly.
Hobi blushed, and gently placed the flowers in Tae's lap, "will you look after them until we get home?"
Taehyung giggled again, "of course, Hyungie! Are you gonna put them in a pretty vase?"
Hobi nodded, pulling out of the parking lot, "yep. And I'm gonna put the vase in my room so only I can look at them."
Taehyung let out a surprised giggle, his eyebrows raised and his boxy smile on show.
Hobi almost hit a car because he was staring at Taehyung's smiling face.
