Daffodil
"Your such a bitch... I paid the damn cable bill days ago and you are screwing me over for no damn reason." Mom argued on the phone.
Lilly listened, curiously but not with her full attention. She was more focused on the tv advertisement she was watching.
"'... some of the best damn knives I've ever seen Joana, and let me tell you. I collect a lot. Of. Knives. You might even call it an obsession.'
'Oh I know Niven, believe me. You are quite the consumer of blades. It can be quite frightening sometimes actually.'"
Lilly watched, completely enthralled with the idea of having a designer hunting knife all to her self. To have something to... complete her needs... and have it especially designed just for her. The thought sent shivers down her spine. She needed to have it.
"YOU FULL OF SHIT, LADY! I PAID YOUR STUPID BILL AND I WANT MY CHANNELS!" Lilly's FSS of a mother fussed.
Lilly growled and her eye twitched. She just wanted to watch her commercial in piece and The Bitch wouldn't shut her mouth.
"'Well Joana, how could you not be obsessed with knives like this. Just look at their acrylic designs. It gives me goosebumps, Joana, it really does. Some of the most beautifully crafted, most reliable hunting knives you blade fanatics could ever get your hands on. Seriously.'"
That was all Lilly needed to here, now she had to have it. More than anything in the world. That knife had to be hers. Now just to wait for The Bitch to get off the phone.
"And let me tell you something else... Danny was it? Yeah, Danny, let me tell you something. Your level of customer service has been horrendous. I hope you get fired and lose your mortgage on your house or something equally terrible. Let me talk to your manager."
Lilly stood up from the couch. She was done waiting. She needed it.
NOW!
It started simple, a little slit to the wrist with a butterknife. Then, Lilly quickly hung up the phone as to not arouse suspicion on the other end of the phone. Then, as Mommy screamed desperately for help, not that anyone gave a shit in a terrible neighborhood like this, Lilly took the butter knife and jabbed it into her eye socket over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over until all that was left was a puddle in a pit. Then wow Mommy begged for her little girl to forgive her for her wrongdoings, Lilly put down the knife and picked up a wooden spoon. Good for scooping. She mover to Mommy's mouth and pried it open with her bare hands. Until she heard the tiny bones in the corner of her mouth crack and snap. Mommy seemed to daze in and out of consciousness now so Lilly had to move quickly. She took the wooden and grabbed on to Mommy's tongue. She pushed the wooden spoon under her tongue and scooped. As the flesh between her tongue and lower jaw tore, blood filled the interior of her mouth. Mommy started to choke which seemed to wake her up a little bit for some more fun. Lilly ripped the tongue clean out of her mouth and then held her head to drain the blood from her throat so she could breathe. With Mommy's one good eye, she looked at her daughter one last time with both fear and confusion. Just how Lilly liked it. A smile formed on Lilly's face and she hugged her mother's head to her chest. She did love her mother. At least... she assumed she did. She wasn't sure what love was. Maybe she would never know. She didn't mind that much anyway. She pulled away from her mother to see that... she was no longer breathing. She must have bled out. Lilly sighed and laid her body back down on the floor. Lilly picked up the phone from the floor and texted the number at the bottom of the screen. It would be at her home in less than one business weak. A pleased expression-filled Lilly's face and she laid down in the blood that now pooled on the floor.

"I got here as fast as I could, Lil,' what's up?" Benny huffed from outside Lilly's front door. He looked down to see her clothes were completely covered in blood. "Lilly... holy shit... What happened?"
She smiled and motioned for him to come inside. Unlike the last few times she had done something like this, this time she didn't feel guilty. Maybe it was how horrible her mother had been to her throughout her life, or maybe it was because she was losing her sense of remorse... or maybe it didn't matter anymore. Maybe she didn't give a shit anymore.
Benny cautiously entered the house and Lilly happily led him to the kitchen. When he saw what Lilly had done his stomach couldn't take it, he fell to his knees and vomited all over the floor. Some of said vomit making its way onto Mom's corpse. He tried to speak, but more vomit took the place of the words he struggled to get out.
Lilly knelt beside him and rubbed his back caringly. She kissed his cheek and smiled at him.
He fearfully looked over at her. "Are you... are you going to..." A tear formed in his eye and he started to break down.
Lilly realized what he was thinking and worriedly looked into his eyes and shook her head.
"Y-your not gonna kill me?" Tears fell down his face as he looked at the girl that he thought he knew.
She wrapped her arms around him and held him close. She wouldn't even think of hurting jer Benny. He was the only person she truly did care about. And he was the only person who treated her right.
"Why did you show me this Lilly?" He gently pulled away from him. "Aren't you afraid I'd tell someone?"
She smirked and shook her head.
"I mean... you're right... but... Lilly, what are we going to do about this..? You could get executed for something like this."
She took his hand and led him out of the kitchen. He looked back at the body and bit his lip. Lilly led him up the stairs into the master bedroom, then the master bathroom, then to the shower. She looked at him and grinned caringly. He seemed confused at first until she pulled her shirt over her head. He stepped back and looked around. She tilted her head slightly and walked closer to him. She wrapped her arms around his waist.
"Lilly... I..."
She pressed her lips onto his. His lips were softer than she expected, but yet... a little rough around the edges. Still perfect enough for her. She grabbed the bottom of his shirt and pulled it up above his head. His arms followed the motion perfectly.
"Lilly..."
She put her finger to his lips. She reached her hands behind her back and unclipped her bra and threw it to the floor. Then down to her jeans. She unbuttoned them and dropped them to her ankles. Benny now seemed to have completely forgotten about what was lying downstairs. He walked up to her and copied her actions, dropping his cargo shorts to the floor. She walked to the shower and turned the knob. Water poured down onto her body, cleansing the blood from her hair. She raised her face to let the water rush down her skin. Benny carefully walked up behind her and took her hand. She looked back at him and pulled him in too. He slipped a little and the two of them chuckled. She looked into his eyes and smiled. The water poured down onto both of them, flattening their hair to their scalps. Blood dripped down Lilly's skin and down into the drain. Benny was completely taken into her eyes and didn't seem to notice. Instead, he leaned in and kissed her again. He ran his hand down the arch of her back and closed his eyes. When he released his kiss he spoke as quietly as he could. "I've always wanted this... I've been in love with you since we were kids... I just-" She kissed him again. She didn't want to hear that. Somehow hearing that made her feel worse than killing her own mother. She cared for Benny, but just like her mother, she didn't even know if love was in the cards.
---
They stood outside of her house as it was incinerated by the flames. Hand in hand, they watched Lilly's childhood home burned to the ground. The fire scurried and played inside and outside of the house and Lilly couldn't do more than laugh. Benny looked over at her and shame ran through his body... What had he just done? Was it right? No, he knew that... But he would do anything for Lilly. Even if meant keeping a secret like this for her... A life-ruining secret. He'd have to live with this for the rest of his life. He released her hand and slowly walked away. Lilly looked over to him and started to follow him, but realized that he might need space. Or maybe she didn't care to follow. She wanted to watch the show in front of her.
Sirens blare in the distance. It was time to put on her traumatized girl face.
---
She checked her phone again, but there were no new messages from Benny. She hadn't heard from him in weeks and she was worried. She left another message and slid her phone into her pocket.
"So, you would like to move into a dorm today, huh?" The old lady behind the help desk asked.
Lilly nodded happily.
"Well, I've got one available, but it's a double. Is that ok?"
Lilly nodded again.
"Alrighty, here's your key, dear?" The lady handed her an old skeleton key on a keychain.
Lilly smiled wide. That was absolutely her aesthetic. She excitedly took the key and grabbed her bags and started to leave.
"You don't even know the room yet, dear!"
Lilly turned on her heel and ran back over to the desk.
"It's Sticks St, Dormitory 13-"
Holy SHIT! Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes!!!
"Room 667."
Dammit... So close. Lilly nodded her head and left to go see her new home. It was time to get serious about college.
