It's nice to finally meet you, senpai!" She finished, breathing heavily. 'Crap, did I overdo it?'  she cringed, looking up from her bow.

...

Nishinoya stood in awe, the word senpai echoing in his mind.

"You..." he mumbled, placing a hand on her shoulder as Aoi tilted her head cutely in confusion. "I'll treat you to a garigari-kun ice lollies some time, since I've been your senpai since junior high and everything!" He beamed, puffing out his chest. "You can even call me nii-chan if you want, since you're Kiyoko-san's little cousin."

At this, tick marks appeared on Tanaka, Suga and Daichi's foreheads as they fumed at Nishinoya from the distance, Aoi certainly felt the intensity of their flames and sweatdropped at Nishinoya's unsuspecting smile.

"Yes, Nishinoya-senpai!" She chirped smiling widely.

"GYAHAHAHA once again!"

"NISHINOYA SENPAI!" she squealed.

"Chidoriyama are powerhouses aren't they? How come you came to Karasuno? Was it because you heard of coach Ukai's return too?" questioned Kageyama, shoving Aoi (who was fawning over Nishinoya) out the way.

Nishinoya's tone turned deadly serious. "I came here because..."

Kageyama, Hinata and Aoi all looked at the libero in anticipation.

"I love the girls uniform." He deadpanned.

Aoi giggled, remembering one of her friends on the Chidoriyama girls volleyball team had told her something similar. The other two first years merely stared at Nishinoya with blank faces.

"The girls themselves are incredible here, plus the black gakuran is super cool and Karasuno's close to my school. It's a no brainer that I decided to enrol here." He blabbered enthusiastically, unknowing that Hinata and Kageyama found him ever so slightly less admirable now.

"So Aoi," she jolted at the sudden use of her first name, but was overjoyed regardless. "How come I don't remember you being on the volleyball team at Chidoriyama? I'm positive I knew everyone?"

'Fuck, I don't have an answer for that. What am I meant to say?! I was on the girls team and I'm actually dressing as a boy so I can play on the same team as you.' She panicked, her silence gaining questioning glances from everyone.

"Ao-chan studied at Chidoriyama but played at a local all-age volleyball club." Answered Kiyoko as she walked into the gym as if on cue.

"KIYOKO SAAAAAAAN!!! I CAME HERE TO SEE YOU KIYOKO SAAAAN!!" cried Nishinoya as he bounded towards the surprised senior. "Geh- hold it you bastard!" yelled Tanaka, chasing after his friend.

Aoi faltered slightly, 'Does he like Kiyoko-nee? I wouldn't be surprised if he did, she's simply flawless.'

Thus her first crush came to an end.

"How come you didn't mention anything about Nishinoya?" asked Daichi as he moved to stand next to Aoi, interrupting her thoughts.

"To be honest, I didn't want anyone to think I was weird following him to the same high school" she admitted awkwardly, fiddling with her sweater paws.

"It's understandable really, Nishinoya is a talented libero and he's quite famous. Of course he'd have a few fanboys." He smiled kindly, ruffling her hair.

Aoi swooned a little, there was something about Daichi that made her feel incredibly warm and fuzzy.

Nishinoya returned with a bright red mark on his left cheek, having received a slap to the face from Kiyoko. "So where's Asahi-san, did he come back yet?"

The second and third years all tensed up, replying with a curt 'no' after a few seconds of silence.

"THAT COWARD!" he roared, turning around and sauntering towards to exit.

"OI NOYA DON'T TALK ABOUT OUR ACE LIKE THAT!" retorted Tanaka.

"A COWARD'S A COWARD, IM NOT COMING BACK UNLESS ASAHI-SAN'S COMING BACK!" he said slamming the gym door, causing everyone to flinch.

"What... happened just now?" Kageyama asked, breaking the silence.

Tanaka sighed, "Sorry about that first years, there's a bit of an issue between Noya-san and our ace..." he trailed off.

Sugawara looked at Aoi, noticing how disheartened she looked. 'He only just met Nishinoya and he's already had to witness this.' He sighed.

"Please teach me how to do receives!" They heard Hinata plead from outside, wondering when he sneaked out.

The members inside the gym eavesdropped on their conversation. Luckily Hinata's sincerity stroked Nishinoya's ego in all the right places, winning him over. "I'll come to practice just so I can teach you, that doesn't mean I'm joining the team or anything." Announced Nishinoya, as Aoi, Tanaka and the third years sighed in relief.

As Aoi and Nishinoya attempted to teach Hinata and the others all about receiving, Hinata piped up with a question. "Who is that Asahi-san person?"

"Oi Hinata don't just carelessly say that name!" Snapped Tanaka.

"He's Karasuno's ace... well at least he's meant to be" mumbled Nishinoya with a 'tch.'

"I... want to become the ace." Hinata announced.

"You wanna be an ace with that height?... Hey that's awesome, do it become an ace! It's cause its so cool right?" Encouraged Nishinoya, slapping him on the back.  "Even the word 'ace' itself sounds super cool, compared to 'setter' and 'libero' which both sound so plain huh."

At this Sugawara consoled a pissed off Kageyama whilst Aoi shifted on her feet and pouted slightly. Daichi ruffled her hair fondly again, "The last thing you want to hear from your idol is that his position isn't all that cool huh?" He whispered in her ear, chuckling as she flinched due to his close proximity.

"But still, in a match the crowd gets most excited when they see a super receive no matter how good the spike is." Aoi visibly perked up. "In volleyball being a libero might be the only position where short people can compete, but I'd still be a libero even if I was two metres tall. Even if you can't spike or block, you don't loose in volleyball if the ball doesn't touch the ground, and the one that's best at keeping the ball in play is the libero." Concluded Nishinoya, as he pointed to himself.

"s...SO COOL!" chorused Hinata and Aoi with bright eyes and admiration.

"I-Idiots, don't say it with such sincerity dammit! YOU BOTH WANT TWO GARIGARI-KUNS EACH HUH???"

"OSU!"

"SODA AND PEAR FLAVOUR HUH??"

"OOOSUU!!!"

Aoi went home humming to herself but felt slightly detected Nishinoya's refusal to play. She arrived at her apartment and texted the other first years on their group chat.

1st Years

Hibarida:

Oi guys, we need to persuade Nishinoya-senpai and Asahi-san to rejoin the team

Kageyama:

But how?

Hibarida:

By persuading them with our words of course. I'll go with Tsukki and Yamaguchi to persuade Nishinoya.

Hibarida:

Kageyama and Hinata will go find Asahi-san :)

Hinata:

I'm in!

Kageyama:

Same. Although I'd rather not be with that idiot.

Tsukishima:

Don't call me Tsukki.

Tsukishima:

Also, I refuse.

Yamaguchi:

I'm with Tsukki.

Hibarida:

Fine by me, lazy asses. Goodnight! Don't forget the plan Hinata and Kageyama!

I haven't really reached much of an audience yet but I'd still like to hear your opinions on the story!
